Important information

Due to the fact that in Android 8.0 the menu structure has changed - many of the settings we are used to have changed their locations.
For the convenience of their search, there is a "search by settings", you can use it by opening the settings menu and clicking the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner. The search is performed both by the entire phrase and by excerpts of phrases and words. The results are displayed in the form of the name of the settings item with a submenu tree to access it.

* maximych88,
In fact, the same Mi5X, it is strange that there is no NFC, and, accordingly, AndroidPay, but if the price tag is around 14k, then in principle a good device

Plus, the characteristics are not completely clear: apparently there is no optical stabilization in the camera (sadness, sadness), it is not clear whether there is support for wi-fi ac (in different sources in different ways), but from the buns "Besides, for the device act privileges such as the unlimited Google Photos repository and Google Assistant (there is no Russian localization yet) "В©

I wonder if there is at least digital stabilization ..? NFC is fine. We have nothing to do with it. But shaking videos are really bad. If they even put the screen "frameless" ... We must wait for the review.

* maximych88, unlimited Google Photo storage

The Chinese said that the boundless in high quality. So as such, it is always limitless in Google photo. And here they cheated. Now, if unlimited storage was in the "original quality", then it is quite another matter.

* Roadblox Tell me, how does the device with the quality of body color? I understand that you have it quite recently and it is too early to judge, but I am particularly interested in the places around the type-c connector.
I had quite a while with the HTC One S in a black metal case - and so there, in the area of the micro-usb connector, everything was scratched from the failures of the blind, charging into the connector: D

And here is not a simple markup, but "A / B" structures (two systems), like in pixels. By the way, the first device with it, except for the pixels.

Perhaps it varies for the phone and the region, but for android one updates now release oem'y -https://twitter.com/ha…tus/906542431516217352. On reddit there is a comment from the owner of the first generation android one - google released updates for several months, then oem.

Assembles the manufacturer directly firmware, yes. But under the hard patronage of Google.
All updates are distributed from Google servers.

Are there any proofs?

You yourself said that now the manufacturer is collecting the firmware.
In general, there are different ways, where Google, where OEM, and not only for Android One. In this case, it really is the manufacturer:
ro.build.host = mi-server

As for the updates: - There is a "update" standard, Google. This means that updates are sent from Google servers.
Hosts:
https: //android.clients.google.com/packages/ota / ...
https: //android.googleapis.com/packages/ota / ...
https: //ota.googlezip.net/packages/ota / ...

Rep: (29)
That is, speaking directly, the firmware does xiaomi, uploads Google to the server and updates the device from there?

Rep: (6378)
* Roadblox
Yeah. Together with Google, Xiaomi develops, assembles, distributes Google.

It's more interesting here. Previously, for Android One devices, it was not at all customary to upload images. Yes, there were no images of firmware. People themselves from the logs got direct links to ota updates from the sources I quoted above. Links of this type:
https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota/google_mi438ssprout_mi438s/1f8376c5ace8f2907746fb8cfb098b35a2052436.zip

As you can see, the link is quite working and the file can be downloaded separately. But for the most part, all these updates were incremental (rarely complete), there were no complete images. So in case of problems with loading it was necessary to rely on backup and its recovery.
Xiaomi decided to spread it, and that's great.
