Regarding the output of multichannel audio in KODI, SPMC, MRMC. - Maybe someone will be useful, and time and nerves will save :)
I used for a long SPMC, everything worked fine, once configured and that's it.
The other day I made a full reset, for the one and moved to MRMC. And immediately got such a problem - in half the films there is no sound at all, in many cases the way out of the viewing mode hangs a player or boxing at all. It does not work the multi-channel sound either by HDMI or optics.
After a heap of experiments with the settings, found what will give with all the formats audio in films normal sound output.
1. Direct sound output - only Android Raw Passthrough
If there is no choice, then
Do not choose IEC Passthrough
2. Output format Select only DD (AC3) and DTS.
3. Be sure to select the option "Recoding to AC3" - for those formats that are not supported by your receiver - they will be recoded.
The result is on two boxes, with two different receivers, multichannel sound in all films (where it is, of course), is always output correctly.
And, as a result, gone - player hangs, sometimes swimming sound at the very beginning of the film, and periodic enclosures of the image (as with non-working AFR).
Addition -Screenshots Player Settings + Test File. Boxing Sound Settings: Sound settings in Kodi (and SPMC) Sound settings in Mr.MC: The operation of the receiver in the auto definition of the sound format on the test file:
Boxing is connected to the receiver via HDMI, from the receiver already on TV. All 8 channels on the test file are displayed correctly.
Test file: Dolby-Test-Tones_5_1_2.mp4(115.64 MB)
