Frequently asked Questions
Question: Why can not I get the camera to focus in an arbitrary place in the frame? Focusing always happens in the center.
Answer: Focus area selection does not work if face detection is enabled.

Question: This application can shoot panoramas?
Answer: Such a possibility has appeared in version 1.47. Powered by Android devices 5 and later.

Question: Are selfie sticks supported?
Answer: Yes, if your self-stick uses one of the player control buttons or the volume button as a shutter button. If the main button of the headset (HEADSETHOOK) is used for this, then it will not work, since in Open Camera there is no possibility to assign any action to this button.

Question: Why can not save photos to an external memory card? When I try to select it to save a photo, it writes “It’s impossible to save to this folder”.
Answer: Starting with Android 5, the ability to directly write to an external memory card is blocked for all third-party applications. To save photos and videos to it, you must use the Storage Access Framework ( Settings ->Additional settings ->Use Storage Access Framework ).

If for some reason this method does not work for you, you can use the alternative method - select the "Android / media / net.sourceforge.opencamera" folder to save. If such a folder does not exist, you must first create it using a third-party program.

Question: I can’t find the API 2 switch.
Answer: In the settings, almost at the bottom. If your device has a Legacy support level (almost all budget devices have just such a level), then API 2 cannot be enabled in the original Open Camera. Therefore, this switch will not be displayed. In this case, you can put one of the mods in which this artificial restriction is removed.

Question: What is a support level or hardware level?
Answer: Read here .

Question: How to turn off the shutter sound? Nowhere can I find this option.
Answer: Mute shutter sound is in the "Advanced Settings". If there is no such option on your device, then three options are possible:
1) Your Android version is too old. The ability to mute appeared in Android 4.2.2, on earlier versions, shutter sound can only be turned off in a radical way. But more about that below.
2) You have a Chinese device, and the Chinese who are famous for their naughty attitude towards everything they do, simply did not include such an opportunity in the firmware. More precisely, it is possible, but the camera library does not report it, and therefore Open Camera believes that the sound of the shutter cannot be disabled. In this case, you can use one of the "hacker" methods (for example, manual editing application settings), or switch to Camera API 2 (in this mode, shutter sound always works).
3) Your device is assembled for sale in a country in which shutting down the shutter sound in photo and video devices is prohibited by law. In this case, there is no universal solution, and you will have to look for it in the subject of your device.

If you have tried all methods, and none of them came up, you can use a radical solution. Namely - delete the shutter sound file. Typically, this is /system/media/audio/ui/camera_click.ogg. Of course, in order to do this, you need root.

And where is Russian?) Nothing is clear!

I'm not a developer, a program in Inglish, but you know .... I taught France in my time, but in the program I understand everything there and where ....
but what exactly is not clear to you, good sarcasm, you created your ownLime camera based on this, I can even say just changed the icons
while removing the useful things like the maximum brightness and translated into Russian, so I think it is absolutely clear to you there;): D
and by the way based on thisOPEN CAMERA there is another identical application, one on one with this and your "alteration" https: //play.google.co…s? id = com.ronald.camera ,
so you're not the only oneMartin_Devil who is trying to remake the program for themselves and become its full-fledged developer :)

Where does her silent shooting turn on?

I have no idea where. But it starts and shoots silently.

What I say, say that WELL -

1. launch time is one and a half times less than normal
2. Mode control buttons are adequate and convenient.
2.1. I would also like to select the shooting resolution using the button, not through the menu, but this is not yet
3. quality of shooting - compared with a regular Compact camera. Although this one began to shoot at a maximum resolution of 20MP, limiting itself to 18, the quality, readability of the text produced better. I dabbled at night, almost in complete darkness - this camera avoided overexposure from a flash, well, you know, when the angle of the frame is overexposed and the colors are distorted. Removed from one position, autostabilization.
UPDATE - No, shoots in full resolution. But if you put auto-stabilization (it’s a programmatic one), then the final resolution of the image changes.
4. very useful buttons for selecting the focus mode (macro, auto, fix, infinity)

I did not see the HDR.

Now would -
1. make it run from the hardware button (to lockscreen)
2. resolution selection button in toolbar

And where is the shooting by touch and focus in the right place?)

Rep: (610)
* Matveich Diamond,
* memfis,

maybe all this will be (maybe) but hereLime camera
there is a remake of this camera as they say it will be replenished with all sorts of phishing, the only thing
that there is removed the maximum light when shooting, and the author’s request will not be returned. : blush:

I have a sound shot and this, and Lime Camera.

Rep: (85)
Found in online help:
Shutter sound - taking a photo. (Requires Android 4.2 or higher to disable.)

Apparently Tasker will have to put and turn off the sound. (

Rep: (92)

Judging by the super-modest size of the program, is it not just a snout to the regular one? - I have a regular one without sound, and both of them, including Lime, too.

There was also such a thought, for the sound of the shutter is the same.

Rep: (639)
for the shutter sound is the same

And what should it say? ... About the fact that the developer did not “reinvent the wheel” and tritely inserted into his code a simple link to the standard system sound of the camera?

Rep: (92)
The fact that the developer of his created muzzle uses api android camera. The fact that you should turn off the sound in a regular camera.

Rep: (24)
I understand that for such questions in such topics should be shown, but still hope for understanding, sympathy and other universal garbage. : blush: Yesterday at the festival, he was adolenger for the first time (yes, it happens so) to record a video. Actually, this is an event and led me in a half-year morning on the internet. So. The video of the regular droid camera of my device was written in 3GP and with Zoom (I was ready for this, Stopickot once was discussed in the appropriate topic) and upside down (and this is a surprise). Video sabzheva software was written in MP4 (somewhat unexpected) and in a normal position. In this regard, two questions. The question is the first: with what a fright such turning the picture can be. Question Second: Is there a software to write video immediately in AVI? I asked this question Google, got a sheet with links to ... Right, 3GP2AVI converters: YES2:
And in order to get at least a little tied to the topic - yes, in principle, the application immediately satisfied almost everyone. A big plus is the horizon display. A big minus (for me personally, because I am a fan of the most ascetic GUI) - menu icons: (Upstairs - funny pictures, zoom buttons - as they came from the second droid, some of the buttons - in the standard ICS style ...

Rep: (610)

Question one: how frightened is such a turning of a picture

This is something in the device, in my camera, it does not normally write upside down (3gp and mp4 depends on the camera and its capabilities)

streetrat @ 08/06/2014, 04:43*
Question two: is there any software to record video immediately in avi?

This is not in nature on the phones.

Rep: (24)
This is something in the device, in my camera, it does not normally write upside down (3gp and mp4 depends on the camera and its capabilities)

Now I checked it - he writes normally both on his own camera and on this one. Nevertheless, yesterday's fireworks on City Day are upside down. And what's funny: the GC stood in front and recorded the same spectacle on the Samsung. In portrait mode. I also smiled: they say, you will have to put the laptop on its side when viewing: lol: Yeah, I came home, but I’ll have to turn it over myself!
: sveta:
This is not in nature on the phones.

Thank you for interrupting my fruitless search. And what is the reason? Physical inability to write avi on the telephone? The fundamental position of the developers? Higher power?

On this topic. Long and boringly kolupalsya in the settings, put experiments, fotkal this way and that. In general, the application is good, useful. Suddenly, I was pleased with the default recording on the USB flash drive in the correct folder. Nothing needs to be changed, although it is possible. I expected that it will memory in memory of a mobile phone in accordance with its settings - nifiga, a full-time camera writes to the phone, this one - on a USB flash drive, well done! Before this, I put the LG camera - the phone warmed up so that it became scary. With this application - cold.
