Dear Colleagues!
This branch was created specifically to discuss the problems encountered when working with the mobile Internet, including in the networks of the fourth generation. The need to create this branch is due to the overload of the Discussion branch with questions that do not directly relate to the device, such as the "MegaFon LTE problem".
Have a nice chat.

fine. and the first question I never decided.
I had a good old firmware rst 434. And everything was fine. I have a regional operator (Rostelecom-NSS), the city of Nizhny Novgorod. Recently launched 3g +. And he worked fine for me (at 21mbit speed). And the icon even displayed 3g +.
I do not know what inspired it, but I decided to flash a newer firmware (but from a different region) with another firmware. The easiest thing was to put Belgium. I liked everything in the firmware, but that's what surprised me. Reception of 3g network has become as bad as possible, almost not connected. And when I worked, I tried to turn on the Internet, it was HSPA (not even HSPA +). And the speed was hardly 3-4 megabits.
Recently, Belgium was also stitched on 4.2.2, the problem remained. Yesterday, I stitched 4.2.2 Ukraine and the problem remained.
The bootloader is locked, there is a root, if I need to do a recovery. Apn did not change.
Actually help

Well rushed :)

So, St. Petersburg, Megaphone.
Devices do not automatically go to the 4g lte network. Why is that:

When registering with MegaFon 4G network, MegaFon subscribers have access to all types of communication services via smartphones with support for CSFB (Circuit Switched FallBack) technology, which ensures the transition between 2G / 3G / 4G networks without interrupting the connection. According to the results of a study conducted by experts of MegaFon OJSC in April 2013, this technological opportunity was realized only in the network of MegaFon OJSC.

What is the transition from 3G to 4G?

The transition between the networks will be fully automatic, and will not require you to perform any special actions. Simply connect to the network, and the device will select the best network in terms of signal quality and maximum connection speed.

But:

Thank you for choosing MegaFon OJSC as your communication operator. We apologize for the long wait for a response.

At the moment, the possibility of automatic transition between networks is really not implemented. Our technical specialists are making every effort to resolve the situation as soon as possible.

If you have additional questions about room service, tariffs or services provided by the Company, you can always contact the Contact Center by sending an SMS request to 0500 or by e-mail: [email protected].

We will be glad to help you.

Sincerely, Mautkina Marina

Contact Center

The most interesting thing is that on the NW website of the region, the megaphone has no information about the fact that CSFB is not working - no. There are answers only on the forum ...

Rollback to 4.1.2?

Rep: (8)

Do you think I will refuse all future updates for this? Moreover, 4.2.2 is more like than 4.1.2

The question is that you need to try to establish a pattern. If during the flashing "back" everything will be fine - this is one thing. Change again to 4.2.2 and look for an acceptable firmware. Now there is no, then we are waiting for updates. If on 4.1.2. the shoals will remain, then we go and find out the relationship with OpSoSom.

Is there an option to wait for 4.2.2 growth? Sony already on Twitter wrote that today the update was launched in Russia

Hello, I live in the USA, the unit C6603. 4G LTE does not work with my T-Mobile operator. I read somewhere that it is related to frequencies. But recently there was a modification of Z - C6606. So, if I use firmware C6606, will 4G LTE work? If not, can it be made to work?

Rep: (0)
All ray!

Yesterday I was puzzled why my Z does not catch LTE in the MSC, although it turned on the preferences for LTE, it was in the EPICENTER. I called MTS, they told me that they only needed to set up the phone, put a tick there (just about the choice of the network mode) and that’s what the phone should do. But how did not torment the phone yesterday, 3G Maximum. I have a S6603, I recently updated myself through a computer to 4.2.2 Eurotest ... the UK is something ..

MTS nicknames with MSC, does anyone catch LTE?

In general, it's crap that our opsocks do this. 21st century is in the yard, we are transmitting our voice via GSM, not via LTE ...

So here the matter, as far as I know, is not in the firmware, but in the hardware inside the device. You do not have the firmware signal.

Eurotest ... UK is something ..

Well, as if in the British firmware there is no support for our LTE frequencies - on the PCT.

In my Belgian only after changing the firmware on the PCT earned a megaphone

Duck I bought when the phone was there like the PCT (bought in Moscow through the Internet. In June), I myself updated last week to 10.3.A.0.423. Is this a PCT firmware?

I don’t get a phone from anywhere. I climbed clumsy sites for half an hour, at 3 of them they told me that it was related to BABT (british something there). With HTC, it was just immediately written - the distribution market - Italy =))

Explain the British to me? And about the firmware would give someone a clear answer. They differ in theory for different countries by number, right? I have a PCT number on the number. LTE does not channel in MSC = \\ Especially does not kill, but the inherent harm takes its course. Know how? So should XD

So the firmware numbers are the same for all regions, as I understand ...

Climbed and looked at the region number. I have 1271-0116-R6B. It is not in the list ... = \

UPDATE:

Found. Australia. And I was already upset that I have a phone from a country where dudes speak funny. Better kangaroo than scrambled eggs and black tea ..

In the process of reading the forum and personal use of the device, I noticed that people have a lot of questions regarding the registration of the device in the mobile network as such, and not just switching 4g. There are many confirmations that the calls on our devices go "to the village of the grandfather" and users do not even suspect that they have been called. For example, I’m already a little undermined by the situation when you get out of the subway, and I apologize for the phone, it is still 40 min.
1) You go in the subway - the phone works, the Internet works
2) Ride - on, off, i.e. in tracks - there is no signal and there is a red cross, at the stations - everything works
3) Exit the subway (sooo often, 80%) - the Internet is in touch, there is no red cross, but gray bars of the network are displayed.
At the same time, the settings have priority on 3G (4.2.2.) And the phone is not registered. In this state, it can be both an hour and 2 ... until you make any request to the operator or you go into airport-plane mode ..... vacation, sea, bikini, cold beer on the bay .... Eeee. ..so what am I talking about ....
I did not understand in the process of discussing this issue, whose is it all the same fault?
1) Operator
2) Iron
3) Firmware - although it is unlikely ...
And how can you deal with this? I had a Samsung Galaxy in danger of 2, so he quickly found himself in this world and abruptly, like diarrhea connected to all networks, and here ... Zoni Slopuk Z some ..

Rep: (5)
cyberpups
1 definitely not an operator
2 most likely NOT iron
3 My IMHO firmware is to blame
I had such a problem on the custom one, even on the SGS2, until I asked the modem part from some other firmware for this firmware. So I hope the PCT firmware 4.2.2 and maybe already 4.3, by the way the modem part affects not only the gsm module, but also all other types of communication, I now also have problems wifi reception ......

So the treatments have already been found or what?

Rep: (17)
Tell me, in order for 4G (LTE) to work, do I need to change the SIM card? For example, MTS. When I called the MTS, they said, then you don’t need to change anything, everything will work on your SIM card.
P.S. And here I read the following on the megaphone: -Explain, then, what should I do to become a 4G user?

- You need to connect a special USIM SIM card. This is a new generation SIM card that provides an enhanced level of security. It can work in any mobile device and in 2G / 3G / 4G networks. Get a device that works with 4G, choose and connect the best option to get access to the Internet.
Who to believe?

Well, firstly you do not need to compare Megafon and MTS
Everything really works for a megaphone, apparently (I myself am an MTS user)
And the situation with MTS, as I managed to understand, is the following.
MTS has a 4G connection intended only for whistle modems, but for smartphones it isn’t - there’s another range that MTS promises to launch by the fall of this year, as they say, they have been waiting for the promised 3 years, I hope everything will happen on time!
Another point is that in the customer service Nichrome do not understand what you ask them or pretend that they do not understand, because the advertisement has already passed, and the service is still not physically present. Exactly the same answer I heard from the subscriber service a week ago, they say, put a tick and you will have 4G))) Simka is naturally fresh. I'm still waiting))))
Maybe I did not understand something myself, but this was the maximum that I managed to find out + people who would work 4G network in MTS in a smartphone did not meet.
