[Q]How to check that I have a real device from Xiaomi, and not a fake, and I can flash it ???
[A] Using the appAnti faketranslated by the MIUI Soviet Union Project team
IMEI checks, S / N. ATTENTION!!! The phone can be tested even as a clone they use IMEI from real Xiaomi phones
How can you distinguish a fake (here are the main points, in more detail in the subject - Purchase):
Old ways
  1. The device has an already installed Benchmark - AnTuTu - this program is broken / grunt, it contains the characteristics of the original Mi2, this program cannot be deleted / updated.
  2. There is no stock program in the device - Updater (Update), the device cannot be updated to the latest OTA firmware.
  3. The device is not Mi-Recovery 2.0.0, but Android System Recovery or another
  4. When you try to download the Fastboot mode, instead of the picture "Hare in a earflap mending Android" you have a menu - Factory Mode.
There must be such a picture
    Attached Image
  5. new versions of fakes, began to fill this picture - more here:Xiaomi Mi-Two - Purchase (Post # 21421143)
  6. There are also visual differences of the device, if you look at it with the cover removed and without the battery.
  7. Photos of a typical fake, you can seehereand soin this post!
  8. The post in Chinese is about fakeshere.
  9. If you take a screenshot (Screenshot) using this device and see its characteristics, then the resolution of the image will be 540x960 (instead of 720x1280 from the original device).
  10. You can also look at the phone stuffing using the programCPU-Z You can download it here: CPU-Z or free to Market , examples of screenshots of the original and fake (fake) can be viewed here .
  11. These phones can not be flashed with firmware from Xiaomi, where to get firmware for them, ask those vendors from whom you purchased it.

[Q]How to install russified firmware and not to have glitches ???
[A] The easiest way is describedhereandhere with picturesThe method is more complicated.here. For firmware instructions, seeInstructions

[Q]Can I install 2 independent (different) firmwares on the device? For example, in the first system to put pure Android, and in the second MIUI, or vice versa?
[A] With the use of official (or translated official) firmware this can be done only through the use of the latest versionCWM Recovery with functionTrueDualBoot. Read more in this message .
[A] With the use of regular Recovery and regular firmware do thisNOT !!!

[Q]What is the need for a dual-system device, if it is impossible to simultaneously install 2 different firmware (except for firmwares specially modified for this, or using third-party recovery)?
[A] Initially (as conceived by the developers) Dual system is needed to install the firmware while the system is running! Those. as it happens with the help of the regular Updater program.

[Q]Where to get CWM Recovery for MiTwo?
[A] In the sectionRecovery There are all current CWM recovery.

[Q]How to find out what system I'm in now?
[A] 1.When using regular recovery: Turn off the phone>go to Recovery>Reboot>The last working partition will be marked with the word -LATEST

[A] 1.Google servicesfor Android 4.4.4, installation via CWM recovery.
2. SeparatelyPlay Market.

[Q]When you try to install something from the market (Google play store), an error pops up !!!
[A] All problem solutions are here -Google Play - Technical Issues

[Q]When an incoming call first goes silence then the music begins to play, how to solve the problem?
[A] Need to disable the call filter. On different translations the path looks a little different.
Translation from BurgerZ (jBart): Folder "Security" (if not changed)>Filter>Filtering tab>Disable filtering rules
Translation from Romz.bz (jMFB): Folder "Security" (if not changed)>Antispam>tab "Antispam">Disable rule
In September, the application was remade in MIUI, now in Antispam>Menu button>Settings>Remove all jackdaws
Disable detection of unknown numbers

[Q]What with the proximity sensor, during the call the screen does not go out, and after the conversation does not turn on, is it a firmware glitch or something else?
[A] This occurs if a non-original film is pasted on the screen of the device (without cutouts for the sensors). And it is connected with the factory calibration of the proximity sensor.
Example of a film with a cutout for the sensor
Attached Image

Calibrate proximity sensor =>dial this combination into the phone -*#*#6484#*#* =>Select Light Sensor.

Radio modules (modems) can be downloaded here (thanksqdb417 ).
Also, radio modules can be taken at miuiandroid.com
Put only through the recovery, renaming to update.zip !!! Installed automatically in both sections at once.

Attention!!! For those who have lost the type of data transmission H (HSDPA) and H +
This is treated by the firmware of the radio module from firmware 3.4.5. (Take the link above fromqdb417 )

Programs for translating official firmware:
B.A.R.T - BurgerZ Android ROM Translator
Short tutorial on using jBart
The basic principles of working with the program (fall 2013) are described, something may change ...

Download jBart, climb into settings, set, locale, default time zone,
But then there is a trick, in the jBart folder structure, it is possible to create your own folder (with the phone name, in our case - aries) where you need to put the ones you need to replace !!! files, given their structure and location in off. firmware.
(For example РЎ: / jBart / data / replace / miui_v4 / device / aries / system / app and put there - Networklocation and LBES with a root.,
then for example, system / etc and put the necessary gps.conf there), for MIUI v5, respectively, there will be a slightly different way ...
To change these files, in the settings you need to remove the check mark from "Download extra packages for ROM ........"
Leave the box on a 3-way reboot (for me it is so convenient) -Attention on MIUI v5 this function is not working yet !!!
Leave the checkbox "Decompile all apk's in ROM"
Leaving the "Sign ROM ...." checkbox is the signature of the firmware.
Leave the checkbox "Alternative out ROM naming ..."
Leave the checkbox "Delete" workdir "after compiling ..." - sometimes it may not delete, then after the end, close the program and delete the folder itself ....

Select the downloaded firmware, in the uppermost window, automatically there should be a daw API: ICS-JB, and press the buttonDeodex
We go to smoke / drink tea .....
after the jBart will decode the firmware, it will give a window with the location of the deodexed firmware. (If there is a tick in settings on "Download extra packages for ROM ........" then the files will not be replaced, and then at this point in this (deodexed) Winzip archive opened and you need to replace the files you need.
After that, in the: ROM file window, select the deodexed (and with your changes) firmware, choose what we translate: MIUI ICS-JB (usually by default, but check it better!), Choose the translation repository (for example, most of the MiOne owners choose BurgerZ repository for MIUI v4 or BurgerZ & DriffeX for MIUI v5), put, if not, tick "Automatically compile after recompile" and press the buttonRecompile
Again, we go to smoke / drink tea ...
The output should be a signed firmware that can be flashed through Recovery. (For, as you understand, unsigned firmware can be quietly installed via Updater, or through alternative CWM recovery types)
Once again, I can be wrong somewhere .... It is better to check;) + there is a certificate in jBart itself.

JMFB from KDG Dev Group, the new version of the program from ROMZ.BZ -Translation tool , the extreme (at the moment) version of the translation program from ROMZ.bz - http: // invalid link / n2BAb
A new version of the translation program is being developed -Fusionnet

How to enter recovery and fastboot:
with the volume up button + Power = recovery (Recovery), you can also get into Recovery through a regular Update utility (Updater)>Menu button>Reboot to recovery.
with the volume down button + Power = fast boot (Fastboot).
Before flashing, do not forget to charge the battery by at least 60%, and make a BACKUP !!!
(backup with a regular utility, as a rule, is enough in most cases)

Video instruction on all three ways of firmware from 4ubr

Firmware with the applicationUpdater (Update) (The easiest way).
(With the firmware in this way, the firmware is installed in the next section (for example, if you are sitting in the second system partition, the firmware will be installed in the first, and vice versa) All data is saved, but it is better to still back-up.
There are two ways to get into the Updater:
1 on the desktop>Utilities folder>Updater (Update)
2 menu key>Settings>About phone>System update

Then everything is very simple, click on Select firmware file (firmware may be called as you like and lie anywhere on the memory card (it’s important that you find it yourself). Choose the firmware file>Update, after the update, the phone itself will ask to reboot it to the neighboring system, where it just installed the firmware.

Firmware usingRecovery (recovery)
(In this way, the firmware is always flashed to the first system partition !!!)
Install the driver
Download the firmware, and rename it toupdate.zip
Throw the firmware in the formatupdate.zip to the root of the memory card (//sdcard/update.zip), on Win7 the path looks like this: Mi2>Inner memory>In this section we put update.zip
Turn off the phone
Hold down the volume key + power button, as the screen blinks, release the power key, while continuing to hold down the volume up key.
We are waiting for download in recovery mode
Select English (navigation through the recovery - with the volume keys, the choice - with the "Enable" button).
It is advisable to make a full wipe
Select item: install update.zip to system one
We are waiting for completion and choose reboot to system one

Download the desired firmware for Fastboot (for example, from the spoiler "Official firmware")Unpack archive to a folder on the computer whose path MUST NOT CONTAIN RUSSIAN LETTERS !!! . (Starting with firmware version 4.3.14, the Chinese started packing the firmware in * .tgz for some reason (it’s not scary, and the archiver is opening to love)).
Download MiFlash (firmware) (available in the spoiler. Drivers and utilities)
Firmware:
We translate the phone into FastBoot mode. To do this, with the phone turned off, you need to hold down the "Volume minus" and "Turn on" buttons. The device must be charged!)
A picture will appear with a hare with a hat, which repairs the android. Phone in FastBoot mode.
We connect the phone to the computer, Run MiFlash.

In the program MiFlash>use the buttonBrowsespecify folderwith unpacked firmware. , Further click on the "down arrow, to the right of the" Browse "button and select" Advanced "- here we select one of the three * .bat files, the script (* .bat file)be sure to choose from the folder with the same unpacked firmware!!!!! (if this is not done, nothing will be stitched !!!)
The differences in the installation scripts are as follows: (select the one you need)
1) flash all wipe - does all wipe and erases everything !!!! (user data, pictures, photos, music, etc.!) - I checked it myself.
2) flash_all_except_storage - makes all wipes, except for the memory (the memory of the device where camera pictures are stored, music, etc. should not be affected)
3) flash_all_except_data_storage - makes all wipes, except for memory and user data (memory of the device, where camera pictures, music, etc. are stored, as well as user data should not be affected)
(storage - storage, data storage - data storage)

ButtonRefresh, it is necessary to identify the phone if you connected it after launching the program or it was undecided for some reason.
Press the Flash button (At your own risk, no one is responsible for anything other than yourself).
Wait for the program to complete its work. The phone will reboot and turn on automatically.

What is the difference between the developer firmware from the "stable" JLB series?
What is the difference between the developer firmware from the "stable" JLB series?
The main differences are as follows:
1. Developer firmware is released every Friday (except for holidays in China).
2. In the developer firmware, all kinds of innovations, modules, applications, both functional and design, appear and test before.
3. In the developer's firmware, Root was originally built in (in stable releases, it was closed sometime in mid-2012)
4. In the developer's firmware, the jambs of previous versions of firmware are corrected more quickly, from the appearance of new ones, and no one is insured ....
5. In the "stable" firmware, in some applications the functionality may be slightly reduced.
Also noted: (for July 2013)
No icons in Settings,
No application Exchange (Transfer)
etc.

Attention!!!! After installing firmware 3.4.5 and later, you will not be able to install the firmware below the version (i.e. 3.1.25, or you will not be able to install QCS99) !!! - you can roll back to v4 only from version 2.10.12 and ending with 2.11.16 inclusive .
Solution not found yet !!!
How to determine the release date of developer firmware?
The release date of the firmware is encrypted in their numbering. On the example of firmware3.6.7 we can understand that:
3 - it's 2013, 6 - this is the 6th month (i.e. June), and 7 - it's a day.
Total it turns out that firmware 3.6.7 was released on June 7, 2013
And for example, firmware 2.10.26 was released on October 26, 2012.

Installation and Support orig. in English
No matter what, I’m not sure what I’ve got; The exact same ROM is installed. But MIUI functions 100% fine on either partition. So the following is my suggested approach to installing:
When it comes to installing it, it will automatically flash to system 1.
MIUI, and have your choice. Zip on the SD card somewhere.
Go into Updater ->Install to other system ->Browse to your MIUI.
Thats it. Both ROMs will coexist fine. If you’re not sure, I’ll overload the system 1. I’m using it. an Aroma installer. But it’s easy to get it through.
I’m the installer of the Aroma installer and M1U’s MIUI Recovery:

There is one nuance that I have with this firmware: no matter what I do, but if this firmware is installed on the second partition, then WiFi does not work !!! So you only need to install this ROM! in the first system partition. At the same time, if in the second section you have the MIUI firmware, then everything in it works 100%. So remember this.
When installing for the first time, rename the zip with the firmware to update.zip, and flash it using MiRecovery (as usual), the firmware will automatically appear in the first system partition.
Then you boot into Lennox OS (first system), put the firmware withMIUI somewhere in the phone's memory
Follow the path Updater (Update) ->Install to other system ->Browse (Select the file with the MIUI firmware where you put it). Updater will automatically flash firmware from MIUI into the second system partition. That's all.
Both (different) firmware perfectly get along.
But it is important to remember thatfor updating MIUI firmware , you must install it using the Lennox OS Updater program !!!! and not through the Recovery !!! Since flashing through the recovery, you wipe the Lennox OS firmware? located in the first system partition.
To update Lennox OS you need to use only the recovery (so as not to overwrite the second system, where you have installed MIUI !!!)

In the next update, Lenny will remove the installer from Lennox OS Aroma, and recommends usingM1cha’s MIUI Recovery or CWM Recovery information on it, look in the spoiler: "Alternative recovery"

Getting Root
The developer line of firmware from MIUI (type 2.12.14, etc.) already has Root, it only needs to be enabled in the Permissions Manager application (Permissions), which is usually located in the Security folder on the desktop.

To get Root on firmware with pure Android 4.1 QCQ79 / QCR89, try the following:
Download:Attached fileroot.rar(940.21 KB)
, and unzip the contents of the archive to the root of drive C: on your computer.
Turn on USB debugging on your device, connect the device to the computer, if necessary, install the driver.
Run root.bat.

Let's go to the subsection. A fruitful discussion.

Can I flash right out of the box to the Russian firmware? Or do you need to do a root, etc.?

You can immediately!
If there is a request for JLB, then the root is most likely not there, if you install developer firmware, then the root in it is simply included in the settings.

It turns out that there are two sections / system and one section / data?

I think that the system of the system into which you are loading is mounted.

Alexsel80 ,

Links to firmware (official) translated into Russian, you can take in the header of this topic in the section: "Unofficial firmware."
Plus, I answered you in QMS.

How is it done from the cap?
We must also try Harrover ... which buttons were clamped, how it was stitched and what basically happened: rolleyes:

Fixed in the header, even before your post;)
What is the firmware? pure chinese-english
If this firmware was translated (read modified), then it is not official anymore, is it ???

Well, or offer your options - consider! : happy:

How is it done from the cap?

Any of the 2 (through Updater or through Recovery), choose to your taste. Theoretically, it is also possible through fastboot, if someone translates the fastboot version of the firmware.

We still have to try Harrover ... which buttons were clamped, how it was sewn and what basically happened

You can not torture: P
Recovery turns on: volume up + Power
Fastboot turns on: volume down + Power

The firmware process took about 3 minutes, at first glance, the translation is not bad, although it is far from complete. We will see)
P.S. Please correct, in the header, that the zip file must be renamed, I missed this moment - I was in a hurry)

Fine! :)
What firmware did you download? with romz.bz?

Shl: Recover the same with MiOne, version 2.0.0.

Andrey_TypeR @ 02.11.2012, 11:34*
We upload the firmware in the update.zip format to the root of the memory card (/sdcard/update.zip)

This is in the cap, in the instructions for the firmware through the recovery;)

Now you have Russified firmware on your phone in the first section, and JLB 3.0, which you had, was left in the second section.
Firmware in the second section, now you can install via Updater (available in the header).
For example, the version that will be released this Friday ...

PS: Now you can master the independent translation of firmware using the jBart program using the repository of the respected Burgerz
I like his translation the most: yes2:
You can read more here:B.A.R.T - BurgerZ Android ROM Translator

Switching on reboot? Or can I jump from one to another?

Switching from Recovery.
You can jump, but every time there will be an optimization of applications, and the more of them, the longer.

Rep: (21)
Firmware downloaded from MIUI.SU. While I look, I will not like it, I'll try with romz.bz. As for jumping, I downloaded it in JLB 3.0, so now it refuses to work in this firmware - the network does not catch, no applications open (the status bar blinks and nothing happens). Not yet figured out what was wrong.

I did not find threads on Mi-One S .. Is it not on the forum or is my search-skill not good enough?)

Mi2 is fat for me, I tend to Mi1s, but only if there is a pure JB for him)

firmware themeWell, there in the cap on everything else there are links

booted into JLB 3.0, so now in this firmware it refuses to work - the network does not catch, no applications open (the status bar blinks and nothing happens). Not yet figured out what's wrong

This sometimes happens. I had a transition from firmware 2.10.26 to 2.11.2 - the process com.android.phone constantly fell out with an error, it was not possible to work ....
Shizostereo @ 11/14/2012, 11:10*
I tend to Mi1s, but only if for him pure JB is)
There is no pure JB on the MiOne family, and whether it will be unclear.
Of Is the firmware with pure Android 4.1 multilingual? or also Chinese and English?
In the cap there is info:
Official firmware based on Android JB 4.1
Language in the firmware, only Chinese and English !!!
The firmware data can be updated over the air using OTA packets.
.......... etc.

There is no pure android in the tube (as far as I understood). only MIUI.
Initially, yes, but you can flash ...

Rep: (2)
Alexsel80,
How does the feeling of miui compared to a pure android?
She somehow strains me on the screenshots. What exactly - I do not know. Perhaps the similarity with cheap phones (for example, Samsung on the same bad). There's no such thing?
ps Well, navzvychy white color on the nerves on the nerves acts a bit)
ppt Sensations android phone does not create)
ppt ps That is, it does not cause any admiration in comparison with the screenshots of the pure android on the same nexus 4

Rep: (21)
You almost completely described my feelings, it is even hard to add anything. I haven’t encountered Miui before, so now I'm studying, if I may say so. On the same Honor, I somehow have something more pleasant, or something. Although, perhaps, for now, just not used to it. White color is also not happy, but not so critical. It is not convenient that all applications are initially on the desktop. But all this is not so critical as to spoil the overall impression of the phone.

Rep: (29)
You can’t delete a shortcut from the desktop? I understand this is an iPhone (I happened to squeeze a week for iphone 4s).

Rep: (605)
The shortcut from the desktop can not be deleted?
This is not a shortcut, but a program, which is why it is deleted by itself.
