Why are some iOS features limited on older devices?

This is due to the fact that the iron of obsolete devices cannot provide an acceptable quality of animation and visual effects. In addition, some devices simply do not have the necessary parts (for example, iOS 7 supports Touch ID, but the iPhone 5 does not have a fingerprint sensor, so this feature is cut from its firmware).
