Greetings to all!
I have Chinese Whyred 4/64.
I waited 360 hours, unlocked the bootloader. (I did not know about the method of 2 accounts), put twrp, Cust, xiaomi eu according to this instruction:
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro / Note 5 China - MIUI firmware (Post kisasanya # 72545859)
Realizing that the firmware is sooooo slow, I decided to search for something else, remembered LOS and AOSP, found RR Official (available on the off site).
Put RR and gapps. Everything started without problems. Route is built in (magisk 16.4)
The firmware itself is fast, stable, there are no "sudden" stops or reboots. The camera is like on miui, Camera2api is activated from the box (starting from version 03.05), that is, you can easily install Google camera.
Autonomy is excellent, that in the use mode, that in a dream (I will provide the figures later).
Here is an anttu (someone asked):
Attached Image

And yes, in a fresh assembly, gestures were delivered as on miui. (not such as of course on miui, rather a parody)
Of the minuses - microSd does not work! If there is an exfat markup, the minus is significant for me, I hope to fix it quickly.
Addition - the screenshot does not work (it writes that there is not enough memory, it is solved by installing the program for the screenshot) and the permissions settings for applications fly out, and so ...
Autonomy after a while it became worse (or it seems to me that it is worse), skins skins. I think the updates will fix these problems.
Guys, something like this (autonomy):
Attached Image

Attached Image

Explanation - there was almost no WiFi, only LTE and an extremely unstable network. Consumption is about 10% per hour.
Here is what the charge eats and nehily:

Change boot logo

This is not a boot animation, it is an image that is displayed when you turn on the phone (by default, the logo is 'Mi')
Only for Redmi Note 5 Pro (whyred)
Requirements
  1. Root
  2. Optional: Installed terminal emulator (For example this) or TWRP or fastboot on pc

Create splash.img
1) Download and unpackRedmi_Note_5_Pro_Splash_Maker.zip
2) Prepare an image in 1080x2160 or 1080x1920 resolution
3) Go to the pics folder and replace the imagelogo.png on your own (you can also replace other images, such as fastboot)
Important:You can use any image format, but the name should be logo, fastboot, etc.
4) Run the file'CREATE_LOGO.bat' to create splash.img, which can be found in the "output" folder upon completion

Firmware splash.img
Optional: for backup splash.img use command
dd if = / dev / block / bootdevice / by-name / splash of = / sdcard / splash.img

1) Make sure that the computer has fastboot installed (if everything goes bad)
2) Choose installation method
2.1) Via twrp: Drop the flashable_splash.zip file on the phone and flash it through twrp
2.2) Via the terminal on the phone: Drop splash.img into the internal memory of the phone, open the terminal and register
su
dd if = / sdcard / splash.img of = / dev / block / bootdevice / by-name / splash

2.3) Via fastboot: Enter fastboot mode on the phone, connect the phone to the PC via usb, open the command prompt as administrator, go to the folder with fastboot using the cd command 'path to the folder', having previously created splash.img in this folder, and set the command in the command prompt fastboot flash splash splash.img

Bugs and shortcomings
If your logo is not black above and below, then there may be black bars above and below, this is due to the fact that the standard logo comes in 1080x1920 resolution.

GSI firmware image (Тreble).

Topic onsavagemessiahzine.comProject treble
These are images of firmware for all supporting phones (ours supports.
1. Download the archive with the firmware for us to chooseSlot a , usually goes to zip, unzip it.
2. We go to TWRP, we do a wipe system (just in case), data, wallpaper caches.
3 Install, select img on the lower right, look for the downloaded image, install as system. If there are no gaps and root in the firmware, we add to the queue, root is preferably magisk.

While the vendor is temporarily not fully working on all the firmware, we put the latest MoKee on it, we fix the fix (fixed wi-fi)Attached fileFix_For_Mokee_Vendor.zip(64.3 MB)
, and then install any image.
Vendor and the kernel remains with the firmware on which you install.

Almost - the modem comes as part of the firmware, plus it includes files that change the layout of the device and the architecture according to the version of android.
I will add - the modem as part of the custom firmware does not go, it remains with the last miui (from which it was transferred).

How to switch from MIUI to custom and other related questions
I just received / received a phone and want to install LineageOS / another custom firmware. How to install it?
  1. Check if the bootloader is unlocked:
    1. Download and install MiFlash (so install the driver).
    2. Download and unzip adb & fastboot to the root of drive C (for ease of operation).
    3. Right-click on the start and run the command prompt from the admin.
    4. Enter
      cd C: \ tools_r27.0.1-windows

    5. Put the phone into fastboot mode (with the phone turned off, hold the volume down and turn on, release it after vibration, a hare should appear in the earflap).
    6. Connect the phone to the computer and in the command line enter
      fastboot devices
      fastboot oem device-info
If the command line displays Device unlocked: false, then the bootloader is locked, if Device unlocked: true, it means unlocked.
    7. If the bootloader is unlocked, proceed to the next item. And if not, then you need to create (if not yet) an account Xiaomi, get permission to unlock and unlock. More information can be found here: Unlocking XIAOMI bootloaders (if you do not want to wait 360 hours, you can use method of two accounts , but you need to use the version MiFlash Unlock 2.3.803.10).

I really liked the gestures in MIUI. Can I somehow make them on custom firmware?
  1. System gestures are supported on ResurrectionRemix. If you have another custom firmware, then you need to put the root and use any program for gestures. For example:®Swipe Navigation [Root].
How to get this root?
First way

  1. Get the root.
  2. InstallAndroid Terminal Emulator.
  3. In the application enter:
    su
    getprop | grep goodix
If the application issues persist.sys.fp.goodix = 0, then you have FPC. And if persist.sys.fp.goodix = 1 - Goodix.
Thanks for the instructionsbrigudav.

Installation instructions, backup, repair firmware in TWRP.

The code name of our phone (Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Snapdragon) -whyred , check before downloading, and before installation, the zip name should be whyred .
1.
Backup
Let's start with the backup firmware.
Be sure to delete any passwords before backup! If you do not delete, when restoring, it will not let it into the firmware.
In TWRP, select Backup, a menu will appear
For a standard backup, system (firmware), data (installed applications, downloads, except for photos and music, are in the internal memory), boot (kernel), vendor (roughly - drivers) are enough. You can choose where to save, compress, set the password.
All selected - svayp and wait.
Recovery.

Now we do everything in reverse order. To restore the firmware, system, data, boot, vendor is enough, while restoring with other partitions, there may be errors. It often happens for various reasons that TWRP does not see or restores the old backup with an error, the solution is to backup any small section and rename the old one into the name of what happened, or drop files from the old backup into the new one.
If you forgot to remove passwords before backup, and you are not allowed, then flashAttached fileReset_key_password.zip(125.5 KB)

2.
Install the firmware.
Installing a new firmware is sure to clean.
In TWRP, select Cleaning, selective cleaning, put checkmarks - Dalvik / ART Cache, System, Data, Cache, Vendor and make a swipe.
After cleaning, return to the main menu - Restart, select in Recovery.
If there is a memory card, clean it also from the tails of the old firmware, the Android folder and Lost.Dir, MIUI (if any) in the TWRP file manager.
Now you can proceed to install. Install, select the drive, find your firmware file, select. If you need gaps (we put it before the first entry into the firmware), root, or patches - then click add. Files will be in the queue, all will be sewn immediately.

3.
Firmware update from one command.
When updating the firmware from one command, wipes are not required, usually the formatting of caches and the system is registered in the script. But if you fear the old habit, then after flashing the wipe caches, it will be offered there.
When updating the firmware, all changes to the system that were made (supersu, patches, custom kernel, etc.) are deleted, reinstalled. Gaps and Magiks (built-in auto update script) will remain. All data and applications will remain.

4.
TWRP update and kernel installation (boot)
You can update or install a new one in TWRP itself, go to Installation, at the bottom right click img (TWRP files and cores go in img extension), find your file, select, swipe. After installation, it will reboot into recovery, and set up a new one.
We are also flashing the kernel, only loading it immediately into the system.

Download.
The first build. Based on AOSP.
Until a successful build - additional settings are crumbled, dimmed (there is a kernel with fixes). Firmware from a famous team with its own style, waiting for corrections.
