This program is a refinement of the original project.dnk_dz- fb2conv. The original program has been translated into English, Python 3 andfor a whilelost ui (gui). In the process, various bugs were fixed and some new features were added that are listed in the documentation. After some time, the author of the original project found time, joined the project and returned the UI (GUI) from the old project, improving it. He also took care of the build for MAC.

Make it so that the text of the footnotes was in the text.
NotesMode parameter
Set: inline or block
Then at the end of the book there will be no footnotes. You also need to generate a table of contents at the beginning, then in general at the end of the book there will be nothing superfluous.

The book is divided into chapters, but the chapters have no headings - respectively, an empty TOC. Is it enough for the kindle to go astray? I do not know, it is quite possible that it is enough. The graphical interface will eventually appear, though most likely not from me -dnk_dzalready working on it and in the topic header there is a footnote to the experimental version. Maybe I will also do the UI - but for me this is a task with a very low priority, since I do not use it.

I have been solving a rebus for a month already, namely, I need to make AZW3 from FB2 so that it is: a) Not a staff file, but a book. b) There were pages. c) Dictionaries worked. In short, everything works except for dictionaries. That is, when a word is allocated, a definition is given, but the dictionary card itself does not fit into the dictionary. Alas. Convert fb2mobi. Which way to dig?
And more. Before that I used a bundle with a caliber, so everything worked there ... except for the pages.) Let's try to figure out how to bake all this competently, and then I will write a guide.

And yes. Today I managed to do it the way I wanted, but here the number of tambourines and dances surpasses. I will describe it, maybe someone will come in handy.

So.

1) We throw fb2 books in caliber, we will edit the title and covers in it.
2) From the calibers we transfer the fb2 books to fb2mobi, to which we install our covers selected in the caliber.
3) Convert to fb2mobi to azw3 per device.
4) Go to the root folder of the Kindle, transfer the books to azw3 in caliber, then delete the books from the Kindle, but leave the apnx files.
5) Edit azw3 metadata in the caliber, select the books we need, click "save to disk", select the folder of your choice in the memory of the Kindle.
6) Go to the Kindle memory, scatter the apnx files into folders with the name of the books. Do not forget to change the name of the book apnx. Everything, the book will pick up the pages.
7) We are happy staff with files with covers, pages and dictionaries. As a nice bonus - the systematization of the library inside the Kindle and on the PC.

Difficult, really. Therefore, the question. Is it possible to achieve all the same without the use of calibers?

Recently converted severalof books(in the archive, the original fb2.zip and my finished awz3), then I threw it on the Kindle and made synccovers.
But for the bottom of the cover in Kindle did not appear, although they are visible in the GUI.

I converted a book into azw3 1, threw it into the Kindle and there is a cover after the synccovers. So in the source code there is definitely a cover ...

mergen3107, renamed your files in Latin, copying the names of the source. I threw in kindle, I started synccover and there are covers ... something with the name of your files "not that" ... IMHO Cyrillic with its many encodings somehow prevents synccover


Next, deleted the renamed files, once again threw yours. Now yours has covers :-) without re-launching synccover ...

What's wrong?

synccovers simply takes the BOOKID and cover from the file and creates a thumbnail with the name derived from BOOKID. We assume that kindle software (the shell that draws the list) goes to the database on the device, reads the information there - including the BOOKID and file path, finds the thumbnail and draws it. Information enters the database using the content scanning process, which is kindle wounded after any events (for example, when USB is disconnected). If for some reason the scanning process did not end, or failed to recognize that you put new books, renamed them, etc., etc., there is a discrepancy that may manifest itself and the way you describe it. You can understand what's the matter here only by analyzing the logs on the jailbroken device and not always.

In such cases, the following procedure helps me:

1. Connect the device to USB
2. Remove as much garbage as possible - necessarily books "in question", but you can clean the thumbnails directory
3. Disconnect the device from USB
4. Wait until everything is fine - see this. It is necessary to wait until the scan is over - depending on the number of books on the device, this may take different times.
5. Connect device to USB
6. Put books there and run synccovers
7. Disconnect device from USB

Something like this...

The files and the names of the files provided seem normal to me ...
