the folder "Other" takes up a lot of space

lg l90
OS and firmware: (custom) Ressurection Remix 5.8.5, nougat 7.1.2

Description of the problem:
I recently installed a custom firmware rr 5 8 5 (nougat 7) on lg l90, and noticed that in the settings in the Storage section, the Other section began to take up a lot of space, despite the fact that I did not install any games, minimum applications (vibers, telegrams, Google standard applications), the cache is cleaned. You can do something about it, in the internet, no matter how I searched, I did not find anything

There have been actions:
I cleaned the cache, deleted unnecessary applications, anyway, the other folder does not decrease much

Do not expect that "Other" in your case will be significantly less than a gigabyte.
You see that:
  1. data folder is mounted along with user internal memory.
  2. data folder more than 3GB.
  3. how many programs there are, how many of these programs, how many other data, plus user files, which the OS for one reason or another does not assign to other categories of files.

You do not want to understand simple things:
  • “Other” does not mean “useless”
  • trying to reduce it "close to zero" is useless:
    1. it is necessary not to deal with the "other", but with the garbage that remains from the user's actions or remote programs.
    2. there is no point in trying to understand what the OS calls "Other", much more useful is the time spent studying how the OS uses memory, where it stores what files, how it mounts.

The user enters the Settings, see what his place is occupied.
He sees “categories” there: applications (well, ok, I have them installed, I don’t mind), images/video/audio (well, okay, and this seems to have it), the system (eh ... of course, but apparently, but apparently Without this, no matter how), cache (well, and about it I heard something ... Fortunately, there is not very much, probably this is normal ...), another (Stop !!! I did not order another ... Oh ... And here are gigabytes ... Oh, here it is where my place was "stolen", I heard somewhere that all Google programmers are the last, obviously stupid "my neighbor Kultskhaker" (and, by the way, He remembered, he said it authoritatively that “they are fools”) that the Android OS constantly “eats” “not correctly” (oh, I don’t remember what kind of memory there was, but “everyone is talking about it”) .. .
Well, everything "found where the dog is buried," shchaz in a quick "Other folder" I will find, delete everything that I "did not order" and I will be happy ...

All this is very naive.

The “tool” for “analyzing” the occupied space that “sits” in the Android OS in Settings, starting from the very beginning of the Android OS until now, is a “tool” at the level of Murzilka magazine as the Great British Encyclopedia.
In fact, it is simple "to the point of madness":
OS looks at all occupied place, checks what files.
All that can be defined as categories: "Programs, audio / saw / pictures, system, cache" calls these words.
And everything (!) The rest calls "Other."
Calls indiscriminately, calls on the residual principle, so long as the amount is amusingly formed, so that errors in the school formula of arithmetic are not "just the minus is equally free".

And when the mounting of two logical partitions of memory is added to this, one available to the user, the other hidden from it, one dedicated "for two" partition of physical memory, with the "inability of the OS to divide how much each of them took place here", then ... magazine "Murzilka" will be closer to the "Funny Pictures".

With this approach, in the "Other" except garbage fall gigabytes of useful files.

I understood the general message, thanks for your time.
