The laptop is an update of the line of Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro, version 2. This version differs from the last updated GeForce GTX 1050 Max-Q video card, enhanced cooling system and some components of later versions.

On August 3, 2018, Xiaomi presented a laptop at the ChinaJoy conference, and retail sales began on August 16, 2018.
