I wanted to play Metro: Exodus on my G3 !! and terrible brakes began, and on minimums !! then I installed the game on my old PC and the game flew surprisingly at ultra settings (though in low resolution) !! G3 I have a core-i5 8300h 2300, 8Gb, gti 1050, and a PC core-i3 2500k 3300, 8Gb, radeon hd 6900 !! The point is in the settings ?? what can be done to optimize the laptop ??

SoLoM30 , Most likely the game started using the integrated graphics, rather than discrete.No, I checked it first thing, and just turned it on forcibly discrete! The only thing the PC is more powerful than the laptop is in the processor frequency, maybe this is the case ??

I have a similar laptop. with two “buts”, the second bracket is set at 8GB + ssd nvme (playing on ssd) at maximum speeds without rtx, bluer and highwork everything goes fine with rare drawbacks in the Caspian. (the broken game is not a license without hotfixes)
Is the laptop connected to the mains during the game? In addition to the subway, is anything running?

In short, this laptop just has a jamb ... In the latest version of BIOS there is a fucking control of coolers depending on temperature. Coolers are just starting to start in 5 seconds at 80+ degrees (like 87) and because of this, wild trotting has time to start, because under 100% load, the temperature manages to jump to 100 degrees. At the forum, there was a panic about this, but the matter was just poher ... They released an update for g5-g7 laptops, and on g3 they scored.

Monitor withhdmi 1.4 It only gives 30 MHz in 4k, in the monitor menu also its maximum mode is 4k 30 MHz. When connected to normal 1080 via mini dp 4k produces 60 MHz, i.e. It's not about the monitor, but in hdmi.
It is confusing that in the choice of 1050 modes there is no 4k 60 MHz, only 30 MHz.
