It uses the sensors of the smartphone to combine them into an array in order to track the actions of potential intruders and prevent surveillance. At the same time, the program activates user communications through secure network services, Signal and Tor.
“Haven is designed for people who need the means to protect their personal space and property without compromising their own privacy. This is an Android application that uses sensors on the gadget to monitor and protect the physical space. Haven turns any Android smartphone into a detector that detects any changes in movement, sound, vibration and light, warning of unexpected guests and unwanted intruders, ”reads the application description on Google Play.
According to the developers, the security system can be useful to journalists and human rights defenders. It allows you to receive an alarm signal if outsiders, secretly in the absence of the owner, invaded a protected space — for example, a hotel room — in order to search and search the contents of electronic devices.
One of the ways Haven is suggested to be using is to install the application on an inexpensive smartphone and leave it where you can be monitored (at the office, hotel, at home, etc.). noise or movement, he will record the sound, take a video and send you a notification. This way you can understand who you are secretly interested in. In case of detection of suspicious activity, the smartphone sends an encrypted message to the owner’s phone; From now on, the landlord will be able to carry out remote monitoring through the Tor Onion service. The application tracks changes in the environment using sensors in a conventional smartphone located in a protected room, such as a camera, microphone, gyroscope, accelerometer, light sensor, and also registers the connection attempt via connectors. Snowden hopes that this application can be "deployed" in many other directions, simulating all sorts of different threat options.
