In general, the firmware is good, everything you need is there, bows - at least.
but could not resist, gave up, returned to stock. reasons 3:
1) the fingerprint does not work. You can not go back by a simple tap on the scanner. pie control from the Gravity box is working properly, but these are 3 actions (tap at the edge - dragging the finger to the desired button and tearing the finger off) Yes, it's all in one movement, but if you do it often, and we do it almost all the time, then it is much more stressful than a simple tap in the center under the screen.
2) the LED starts up hard. only one color. but it works somehow not always. I did not set up the missed Skype and call (
3) some small "roughness" in the firmware, then something did not work there, then the prog suddenly stopped autostart, then the settings disappeared. In general, it is not critical, but damn - like a small pebble in a shoe.

The battery did not really test, but there is a feeling that it works a little more economically. not radically - do not count on an additional day or two))

From the fat pluses I can note: built-in root, fully working xposed, built-in viper, any themes from CM13, well, a little less unnecessary applications and, accordingly, a smaller volume of backups.

Original source. The author of the firmware updates the files directly in his first post, there are no archives. All that is written below was done with firmware.Updated on 5/5/2017.
It was this firmware that was chosen because it is slightly tuned, but still the drain on which the fact that the LOS does not work (fingerprint scanner, back - tap on scanner, alert LED) + non-system (*) root standard SuperSU + possibility install xposed (which still does not work at all on 7-ke).
An important point. SuperSU I normally put only non-system! And for thatdata section must be in ext4 format(and not f2fs). You can change it in TWRP in the Advanced Wipe section. After this wipe, you will receive an absolutely blank card. Therefore, before the operation you need to pour out all that you need on the PC.
The second important point. Below is just a description of what I did and what I got. There are no guarantees that you will have everything also - I can not give.Although I hope that everything will be so, so I am writing all this.
In the course of many attempts of different types of installations, it turned out that many glitches occur if certain things (for example, viper, xposed, ...) are installed "after that" on an already running system. Why dont know. Perhaps it is the glitches of my device. But when I immediately requested everything I needed, at a time, everything turned out to be Chikipuki.

So, download the XDA firmware and a patch for it for the Center for topics (so that the three extreme settings items work in it) + my supplements, fill it with a card. I recommend the folder name (0) then it is at the very top of the file list and you do not have to scroll for a long time.
1) We are loading into TWRP and doing a backup of the current system (at least - boot, system, data, cache) on the card
2) We are loading back or directly from under TWRP we make a bakap of all (necessary) contents of the card + just made in p2 bakap (!) On a PC
3) Loaded in TWRP. Wipe / Advanced wipe. Tap on data and then PARTITION OPTIONS. If there is NOT ext4 - change to ext4.
4) Go back to the main TWRP menu. Wipe / Advanced wipe - check dalvik, system, data, cache, pull Swipe to Wipe to the right
5) Go back to the TWRP main menu. Install, scroll to the file folder and add the zip files in the following sequence:

Deodexed_P2a42_S62_170117_ROW.zip (ROM itself)
permissive.zip (enabling selinux mode = permissive. somewhere they wrote that without it the viper does not work)
Theme-Lenovo-P2.zip (fix to the Theme Center)
xposed-v87-sdk23-arm64.zip (xposed - for those who know what it is and why it is needed)
ViPER4Android-2.5.0.5-20170423.zip (viper - sound enhancement. For those who know what it is and why it is needed)

6) we pull Swipe to Install to the right, we are stitching, we make sure that there are no errors in the log.
7) the first launch immediately after the firmware will be really dooooooooooooolim (5-10-15 minutes - have patience, have some coffee, meditate ...

UPD: if you want to play with a non-system root and non-system xposed from Magisk - keep in mind it is normally placed only on the boot from the official firmware!

This can be easily checked on the HoloThemer modules (changes the theme of any application) and iFonts (changes the default font of any application) - the theme and font changes should be applied immediately and without rebooting.

I just just made a fresh deodexDeodexed_P2a42_S62_170117_ROW (Marshmallow)with built-in magic.
I strongly suspect thatDeodexed_P2a42_S244_170725_ROW (Nougat)Also it will be sewn normally.
But, nevertheless, as usual, I promise nothing and do not guarantee. All that you will do with your device - you do at your own peril and risk!

So, all I did was write down, step by step.

0) install drivers if not yet ... enable USB debugging ...
This may happen differently for everyone, but I hope the contents of DriversSetup should help you.

1) upload files to a card, for example, a daddy with the name (0) to see it at the very top of the file list.

2) write the twrp-3.1.1-1-kuntao_row.img recovery file to the folder with the flasher named recovery.img

3) using the Reboot_Bootloader.cmd command, we overload the bodies into bootloader mode

4) flash recovery using Flash_Recovery.cmd

5) reboot into a new, just flashed rekoveri team Reboot_Recovery.cmd

Installing a new system, I prefer to do with cleaning all tails from the old.
therefore, it is this option that is further described.
ATTENTION! THIS ITEM CLEAN ALL YOUR DATA, OTHER THAN THE CONTENTS OF THE CARD. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES YOU NEED!
if you want to roll it over the old one (but of the same version) - DO NOT mark the Data section with the wipe and do not rename the Android folder.

6) in the recovery Tap Advanced / File Manager. go to the folder sdcard
and rename the folder in the root of the cardAndroidin Android.OLD (so that the old settings do not get through to the new system)
(Tap into the Android folder - its contents will open. In the lower right corner, tap the daddy with the check, in the Rename Folder we write a new name and swipe the slider to rename it)

7) go back to the main menu and go to the Wipe / Advanced Wipe. there we note: Dalvik, Sysyem,Data, Cache and the slider to clear the marked sections.

8) Go back to the main menu and tap Install. add files one by one for the firmware in this order
- Deodexed_P2a42_S062_170117_ROW.zip
- Theme-Lenovo-P2.zip
And swipe the slider to start the firmware. waiting, with ... 2-3-5 minutes.
If something hangs (perhaps there is not enough space on the card or something else) - you can return to the recovery by holding down all three buttons for 10-15 seconds
and as soon as the logo appears, lenovo and tezh buzzing - release the power and hold the volume down for a couple more seconds
Upon completion of the firmware, click Reboot System and .... we gain patience. The first launch takes 5-10-15 ((

Ruth - there is, but the Safety Net test in the magic did not pass on the move. I tried to get the root from Privat 24, but its NFS fell out with an error ((
Understand and finish it - no time. Therefore, I rejected my previous backup with standard SuperSU. But the procedure described above is a working one, for the description was written down in the course of what I did with my device.

One more reason is possible - maybe (?!) the data section should be in ext4 format (and not f2fs).
