BatOff | lifting of restrictions when the battery is low

Rep: (112)
Batoff
version 1.0

Screenshot no, maybe, there is no graphical interface.

Description:
Battery charge drivers switch at a low level.
When switched off, the driver will not occur all sorts of reminders and other minor mischief, such as turning off the memory card, reducing the brightness of the backlight and so forth. We can say that prolongs the battery life of the device.

Using: BatOff.exe %% T XXXX:

Command-line parameters:
%% - charge percentage at which the battery driver is unloaded
T - Sampling time in milliseconds
XXXX - The driver name. Different devices is different.

The best option to see the name of the driver - is to download a program TaskManager:www.dotfred.netAnd in the Devices tab, find the device Battery, see how exactly is a device (BAT0, BAT1, BAT2 ...) and record it on the command line. Using the same bend can manually unload the device driver.

Attention!
Usually the name of the driver consists of 5 characters. PREFIX three characters, the fourth character - index, the 5th character ":". Virtually all devices PREFIX is "BAT". Index - a number from 0 to 32767.

Pros:
-not requires changing the firmware
-Easy installation
-universality

Minuses:
-after landing driver can not find the battery charge level

Example:
Copy a program to the Windows folder.
Create a text file with the following content:
29 # "\ Windows \ BatOff.exe" 11 60000 BAT2:
And saves it in the folder autostart (\ Windows \ StartUp)) as a BatOff.LNK Now every 60,000 milliseconds (60 seconds = 1 minute) will be checked and the condition of the battery if the charge is lower than 11%, the battery driver named BAT2: will be unloaded.
No program can check the battery charge level. After this stop appearing on the low battery notification, will not decrease the brightness of the backlight will not turn off the memory card and so on.

Limitations:
charge level polling time can not be less than 1000 ms.
the driver name can not be more than 8 characters.

Attention!
After the name of the driver, do not forget to put a colon ":".
To restore the indicating battery level requires soft reset.
With startup - careful - there may be problems!

Health Check:
To check the efficiency of a program it is necessary to defuse the device to the level XX and try to see the charge level in the Start->Settings->System->Power.
If the battery level is not displayed, or Power window does not open at all, the program works fine. If the charge appears - look for errors.
If the program works - write to some devayse run and what command line was added: "Title devaysa" / "Command Prompt".

For people of advanced add:
The program can, in principle, to unload any driver on any device. Backlight, Bluetooth, Comporta, screen, ...

Example:

Here is a cool feature!
Question: Is it possible without reference to% -am disable the driver and to register this action in a startup?

Rep: (54)
you put 99 and FSE))))

Rep: (1372)
and the power level will be displayed after the operation?

The cap says:
Klev_ @ 08.07.08 06:52:50
No program can check the battery charge level.

Rep: (494)
Put a program in startup, and after the SR if not poke the Start (Start), the device hangs O.o

Location shaking prog?
From here, or from the programming?
It is necessary to swing away. Then an updated version.

There will be time - will light version - without the automatic shut-off driver. When it is necessary that the user could run a program on their own time. And after the launch of a program to the driver immediately unloaded.

prompt settings on dell x51v ... INDEX key is not present in this folder, just try with the key BAT: - does not work ...

Rep: (494)
Klev_ , I do not remember
try this, I will unsubscribe

Try
BAT1:
BAT2:
Something of this is to come.

And the best option - is to download a program TaskManager
_http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm
And in the Devices tab, find the device Battery.
See exactly how a device called BAT1: or BAT2: and write it in the command line. Using the same bend can manually unload the device driver.

Klev_ Thanks for prog, +1.

People!
If the program works - write to some devayse run and what command line was introduced.

"Name devaysa" / "Command Line"

And it would be better if you put a shortcut file.

Yesterday, listening to music, I forgot to turn off the animal. Last time when I looked at the display - it was 12% charge.
After 17 hours, found that the device is still running, the music continues to play.

And I usually cut down the device at 4-5%. And after the 10% he worked somewhere for 30 minutes.
Now is the time work increased by more than 16 hours and 30 minutes.
Nestal him more torment - put in charge, I did Wed.

Klev_ ,
Acer n311 / 29 # "\ Windows \ BatOff.exe" 11 60000 BAT:
(BatOff_.exe renamed BatOff.exe)

And yet, how to track down the remaining battery life after discharging the battery driver to its Sleep (3,4V)?

Rep: (265)
Marvi I have with the same parameters
29 # "\ Windows \ BatOff.exe" 11 60000 BAT:
continues to show (even two indicators) continue to drop the charge. Typewriter passed out at 5 volts. Like this?

Rep: (112)
>kirik64
Check the name of the driver. Must be either BAT1: or BAT2:
Marvi probably wrong.

>Ded
Most likely in any way.
During the charge the battery indiatsiyu meets its driver, and we unload.
There is a way to replace the patched driver. But this way I have worked badly. The device is buggy, would not be included.
Or experiment method. Soot on battery to a level X and timed how long it will last.

I noticed that after turning off the driver began to fail IGO.
He also wants to know the battery level, but can not.

Hmm, bad thing ... Solving one problem ... zaimeli another method to detect the remaining time for your device does not roll (calls, migration between cells ...) It would be ideal to have any programming a universal measuring voltage on batteries stamps . At least something than nothing ....
:(

Rep: (494)
The idea is as follows:
1. kill the battery control in the driver in general (in percent) and leave it to nothing (maybe I don’t know or not) in order to get rid of reminders about the discharge and grabbing the left soft button
2. assign the measurement task to the vshow program from a neighboring branch, where the options can specify the upper and lower voltage threshold, based on three variables (maximum, minimum, current) calculate the percentage of remaining charge

The consequences of the first paragraph are possibly the following:
- the communicator itself will not be able to turn off charging when it reaches 100% (although my charge shows 100% and until the charge reaches 4.2 the charge does not stop)

I think this would be a more correct decision than cutting off the battery and walking with a communicator without knowing when he will blow you off

What is it like? Where did you get 5V?
Klev_ @ 12.07.08 14:51:01
Check the name of the driver. Must be either BAT1: or BAT2:

No, I was not mistaken. On Acer n311 is BAT.
