In favor of the first, I think the most friendly Ubuntu Desktop, and the second 2GB of memory. Also, PC 2 seems to be more popular and it will be easier to find something for it. Younger models are not considered, because saving money is not very important against the background of a possible lack of productivity. |

Only because of emmc, the axis on it will run a little faster than on microsd, especially if the cards are not the most expensive ... And so, opi as a desktop, this is pain and overcoming ... Especially on boards with 512 mb, one heavy browser tab and everything, ram to the eyeballs. Unless the requests are modest and the desktop means "typewriter" ... But in principle, if a person knows Zen, then you can use it as a desktop opi, for example, I often do so when it is too lazy to turn on the "big pc" and when , read something in the "light web" or multimedia. |

It is intended to reflect, to a large extent, sequential i / o, and for sbc much more important is random i / o. Post has been editedtalraash - 16.07.17, 12:13 |

Only here I can not understand the differences between OPi PC plus and OPi PC 2 (except for proca). I guess PC2 is a bit fresher? Tell me please. PS Maybe even take RPi 3 B? From media centers that support HD on orange - only Kodi 16, which is in the Openelec assembly, and there will be no updates. If Kodi 16 with Openelec suits, then OPi PC for today, I think the best choice. But advise RPi 3. |

If Kodi 16 with Openelec suits, then OPi PC for today, I think the best choice. But advise RPi 3. Why drew attention to the Orange Pi: I am updating the current media center because of H.265. With the 15th KODI it slows down when navigating the menu, movies in 1080P. H265 shows, but in spurts. Probably not enough processor. From the comparative tables, I realized that the Oranges processor implements native HEVC decoding, and Raspberry does not even have a third one. But the more I smoke the forum, the more I am convinced that this acceleration in the "orange" board works only on the android, and it doesn’t realize it on Linux ( I am afraid that in Malin 3 with this codec it will be bad, as in the first one. PS Correct, if something messed up PPP I will order all the same OPiPC2 to play, at least Octoprint is useful to put there (or OPiPrime?)
