      ( MIUI) download

By analogy, it is configured andjob background applicationssuch as GPS trackers, third-party alarm clocks, weather widgets, etc.

The instruction is a little overgrown with clarifications and screenshots for different versions of MIUI.
I decided to make the instruction for MIUI 10 as a basis. The previous instruction was removed under the spoiler (at the end of the post)

1. Put the necessary applications in autorun and check the traffic settings!
1.1 Security - Applications - Permissions - Autostart
Security is a separate application with a green icon. (Not in the settings!)

1.2 In the same place in Safety:
- Data transfer - Network connections - Check if the necessary applications have access to 3G and / or Wi-Fi

1.3 Ibid Security:
- Data transfer - Network connections - Three points (top right) - Background connections - check if the necessary

1.4 Settings - Wi-Fi - Advanced Settings - Check Advanced Options

2. Enable notifications for required applications and notification type.
2.1 Settings - Notifications - Application Notifications - Set for what you need
- Show notifications
- Label on the application icon
- Pop-up notifications
- lock screen
- Sound
- Vibration
- Light indicator

2.2 Starting with Android 8.0 (Android API 26), Categories (channels) have been added for notifications.
Depending on how application developers implement, these can be channels / categories, themes, subscriptions, or just settings.
But for each Channel / Category you need to check the notification settings separately!
Attached Image
Attached Image
Attached Image

2.3 Tk Since the 8th Android, categories have appeared, in the settings of each category there is such a item as "Importance", which affects the sound and pop-up windows.
Attached Image
Attached Image

2.4 In connection with the emergence of categories from the 8th Android, you can flexibly customize the behavior of system notifications.
You can also customize a separate sound for each!
Settings - All applications - Android system - Notifications and see settings for various system notifications
For example, here we turn off the sound for notifications about USB connections (Through the Importance item, you can also manage pop-up notifications / sound)
Attached Image

3. Turn on the screen when notifications are received
Settings - Lock and Protect (Lock Screen) - Wake on Notifications when Received
* May not work on third-party themes.

4. Background settings.
4.1 Settings - Power and Performance - Application Selection - Select Mode for Each
You can try "Smart mode", if it works poorly, choose - "No restrictions"
* almost everything works for me on "smart mode"
Attached Image
Attached Image
Attached Image

4.2 Additionally, there is also "Smart Scripting", where you can enable the mode in which the smartphone will turn off notifications, When you sleep.
Settings - Power and Performance - Scripting - On / Off
Attached Image
Attached Image

4.3 Settings - Power and performance - Adaptive mode (not everyone has one) - You can turn it off
This feature limits "power consumption" for rarely used applications.
For example, you rarely use some kind of messenger and it can fall under this function.
4.4. If necessary, you can check the item in the additional options "Run in the background"
Security - Applications - Permissions - Other permissions - Required application - Run in background

5. Modes of Operation / Energy Saving
- Security - Power (Battery) - Energy Saving - Off
Also check as desired
Security - Power (Battery) - Settings (gear on the right in the upper corner):
- Disconnect Internet - [Never]
- Clear memory - [Never]

6. Blocking the unloading of the application from the memory (optional, if necessary)
Left touch button - See a list of running or recent - Put a lock on the right ones (Long press on the application, additional buttons will appear)

* For example, all my messengers work for me without locks - here you can check by typing.
* But on some widgets, third-party alarm clocks, taskers, etc. Sometimes you need to put the lock! (but again - check)

7. Reboot

8. On MIUI 10, almost everything can be configured on the card of the application itself.
Security - Applications - Choosing the right
(Also, the application settings can be opened from recent / running - a long tap on the application icon - a gear)
1. Autorun
2. Application Permissions
3. Other permissions (here you can check the launch permission in the background)
4. Notifications (standard dialog)
5. Network connections (you can enable or disable access to mobile Internet and / or Wi-Fi)
6. Control of activity (we expose the application to work in the background)
7. Advanced settings - Run in background (if necessary)

For normal operation of notifications in some applications, synchronization must be enabled!
For example, without synchronization, notifications for gmail do not work!
Just do not forget that synchronization can be enabled ONLY for Wi-Fi, in this case, these applications may not work on the mobile Internet.
Settings - Sync - Wi-Fi only - turn off

In Viber, WhatsApp, mail and in some other applications, you need to additionally set up notifications, otherwise they may simply not be included!

Who suddenly stopped working / had problems with notifications on some applications, especially when recovering from backups - it helps to reinstall the application.
Delete. Reinstall. Do not forget to check all the settings above for this application. Reboot.
Sometimes this can happen after updating the firmware or the applications themselves.

In case of problems with notifications, I would advise you to pay attention to the following settings:
- Settings - Advanced (Other / Advanced) - For developers - Limit background processes
- Settings - Advanced (Other / Advanced) - For developers - Optimization of system memory (shutdown often helps)
- Settings - Advanced (Other / Advanced) - For developers - MIUI optimization (sometimes disabling helps, affects the interface and updates over the air!)

If developer mode is not enabled:
[MIUI8]- Settings - About device - a few clicks on the item "Version MIUI"
[MIUI9]- Settings - About phone (First item in settings) - a few clicks on the item "MIUI version"
[MIUI10]- Settings - About phone - a few clicks on the item "Version MIUI"

If you have selected a third-party sound file for notifications, through the native Explorer, but there is no sound, select it, via a third-party (for example, ES Explorer)
It was noticed.

Instructions based on MIUI 9
1. Put the necessary applications in autorun and check the traffic settings!
1.1 Security - Applications - Permissions - Autostart
Security is a separate application with a green icon. (Not in the settings!)
1.2 In the same place in Safety:
- Traffic - Traffic control - Check if the necessary applications have access to 3G and / or Wi-Fi
- Traffic - Traffic control - Three points (top right) - Background connections - check if the necessary
- Background connection settings can be here: Security - Traffic - Settings (the gear in the upper right corner)

7. Reboot

Some menu item names may vary (depending on translation).

How to enable notifications on the lock screen for missed calls, if not included
In the curtain, a long tap on the missed call - the notification setting for phone calls will open
Or Settings - All Applications (Application Management) - Phone - Notifications
everything is standard there - enable notification on the lock screen.

For those who persistently fail to configure notifications

Once upon a time enjoyedRoot- Push Notifications FixerorPush Notifications Fixer- maybe this will help someone ...

If there is no way at all, if you have root, you can add (change if you already have) to build.prop instruction pm.sleep_mode = 0
Instead of zero, you can try other values (2/3/4)
Value 0: Pause power ARM11.
Meaning 1: Completely shutting down the ARM11.
Meaning 2: Software sleep (ARM11 remains on, but is switched to low power mode).
Meaning 3: The frequency of the ARM11 drops to 20 megahertz. Voltage will also be reduced.
Meaning 4: When you sleep, no action will occur (May lead to increased power consumption!).

And most importantly! Check whether any task killer battery optimizers(!) , memory cleaners, etc.

By the way, there were cases when a person could not set up notifications, made a reset and everything was set up right away.
Remotely find out what it depends on, I can not, and there is no desire.
Therefore, one more tip is to try to make wipes, although it would be "cache" and "dalvik cache"!
I set up notifications on several smarts last year, people calmly update the firmware, everything works great.
I, of course, flashed my smart / intermittently, I have never had such a thing that notifications would not work!

Is it possible to make the notification icons not just an application icon, but like on other phones, for example with a new VK message, an envelope icon, etc.?

Is it possible to make the notification icons not just an application icon?

Modification of the firmware, a third-party launcher, maybe in xposed there is something on this topic (I do not know)
This question is better to ask in the subject on the similarity of "Modifications and Decorations" for your smart, you may already have ready-made mods.

Tell me who faced. Notifications come but without sound and if missed, the event indicator does not flash. Ie just the lock screen lit up with the message and went out when the smart message hangs on and the tray icon. But everywhere in applications it costs for the entire resolution plus a sound and an indicator everywhere. In Autostart and the application icon in the tray is fixed. In particular, it does not work in Privat24 Aliekspress applications Blacklist ... VibER Vkontakte everything is OK ... Can anyone come across where I found (?

* gera1212, 1. Check the sound settings for sound notifications
2. Try to set the system sound there
3. What is the firmware? How was it? If there is a TWRP - try to make a wipe cache for the beginning, dalvik

That sound was everywhere on. Today, without touching, I communicated with sellers. Aliakspress messages themselves again began to arrive with sound and vibration. Changed nothing !!! BUT indication is not blinking. Although the friend on the Samsung indicator flashes on the missed from Aliexpress. Ruta no! Stabilizer 8,2,1,0. Put through three points. Downloaded from the site MIUI. Who faced what could be the cause of the display. I read that someone helped to put up for all the events of the same color, did not help me. Viber and VKontakte works, but there I noticed settings in the applications themselves.

I will add. Here an interesting thing turned out at night on the application Aliekspress messages come without sound and vibration, and starting in the morning the sound reappears. What is the reason. Nothing set up too much. Maybe this is so the application developers provided?

No, there are no such settings on Ali. See your settings, additional software, maybe something was turned on in automation, maybe the do not disturb mode is turned on according to the schedule, the settings of the application itself, which does not work. For example, in the vibere there are notification settings.

4. Background settings.

I correctly understood this to help solve this kind of problem:
I run the application, turn it off. After 10 minutes, I get it in the background and it has already been unloaded (loaded again)?

I have a similar story with notifications. In particular, the mail client. Native steadily pushes / vibrates / backlight turns on as it should be. Any third-party client calls when receiving the first letter, and then, if the phone is not touched, then if one notification of the letter already hangs on the lock screen, all subsequent messages come silently. The phone simply turns on the backlight and goes out after a few seconds.
I tried everything. Auto startups, locks, cancel unloading / nailing in the background, shamanism in the developer menu. Essno in all clients (outlook, gmail, nine, etc. a dozen more) included all that is possible. In the system, they included all types of notifications. Nothing helps...
In this case, some Telegram notifies as it should be, with each new message, regardless of whether the notification hangs on the lockbox or not.

Usually, in such cases, the firmware and configuration of everything helps. We take MiFlash, firmware for it from the site,
15 minutes and everything is ready (not counting the settings of course). Something a lot of complaints precisely for Xiaomi Redmi 4X
Delays in mobile communications in any case will be. Yes, and I noticed that there really are delays on MIUI9, but this is most likely to wait for updates, since It is still a bit damp.

Bayan probably but I will ask ....
8.5.6.0 was set in the air. Neither root nor unlocked bootloader. All stock.
Notifications.
There are counters on the icons, in the blind there is, when the notification is received, the screen turns on.
The indicator light does not work.
Never.
On missed calls, SMS, notifications. He is always off.
How to turn it back on?
Settings - notifications and status bar - application notifications - "Messages" (for example) - Sound, Vibration and Light signal are turned on.
Is there sound. There is vibration. The indicator is not flashing =)
Chyadt?

By the way, the VibER was recently updated, and calls are not being missed. And the messages just come for a couple of seconds with a delay. Do not jinx it.
