2. Enable notifications for required applications and notification type.

2.2 Starting with Android 8.0 (Android API 26), Categories (channels) have been added for notifications.

But for each Channel / Category you need to check the notification settings separately!

2.3 Tk Since the 8th Android, categories have appeared, in the settings of each category there is such a item as "Importance", which affects the sound and pop-up windows.

2.4 In connection with the emergence of categories from the 8th Android, you can flexibly customize the behavior of system notifications.
You can also customize a separate sound for each!

For example, here we turn off the sound for notifications about USB connections (Through the Importance item, you can also manage pop-up notifications / sound)

3. Turn on the screen when notifications are received
Settings - Lock and Protect (Lock Screen) - Wake on Notifications when Received

4. Background settings.
4.1 Settings - Power and Performance - Application Selection - Select Mode for Each
You can try "Smart mode", if it works poorly, choose - "No restrictions"

4.2 Additionally, there is also "Smart Scripting", where you can enable the mode in which the smartphone will turn off notifications, When you sleep.

4.3 Settings - Power and performance - Adaptive mode (not everyone has one) - You can turn it off
This feature limits "power consumption" for rarely used applications.
For example, you rarely use some kind of messenger and it can fall under this function.
4.4. If necessary, you can check the item in the additional options "Run in the background"

5. Modes of Operation / Energy Saving
- Security - Power (Battery) - Energy Saving - Off

6. Blocking the unloading of the application from the memory (optional, if necessary)

For normal operation of notifications in some applications, synchronization must be enabled!
For example, without synchronization, notifications for gmail do not work!
Just do not forget that synchronization can be enabled ONLY for Wi-Fi, in this case, these applications may not work on the mobile Internet.

In Viber, WhatsApp, mail and in some other applications, you need to additionally set up notifications, otherwise they may simply not be included!

Who suddenly stopped working / had problems with notifications on some applications, especially when recovering from backups - it helps to reinstall the application.
Delete. Reinstall. Do not forget to check all the settings above for this application. Reboot.
Sometimes this can happen after updating the firmware or the applications themselves.

In case of problems with notifications, I would advise you to pay attention to the following settings:
- Settings - Advanced (Other / Advanced) - For developers - Limit background processes
- Settings - Advanced (Other / Advanced) - For developers - Optimization of system memory (shutdown often helps)
- Settings - Advanced (Other / Advanced) - For developers - MIUI optimization (sometimes disabling helps, affects the interface and updates over the air!)
