The "completed" CoolReader did not find the scrolling mode (vertical scrolling), does it even exist there, or just page by page? AlReader has it, but not very much. Large files (* .doc) they both open with a bang, which for them is a solid plus. Of those that have tried, no one weighs so much weight.
In MoonReader, a "vertical line" is supported, it got used to me to read * .txt, which are reasonably sized, otherwise there are brakes when loading (or even generally when opening) text. Also the Pocket Reader is not bad, but the scroll is not as smooth as that of the Moon.
I do not like to run my eyes on the screen, it is easier for me to pull up the text (as in a browser).

Everyone has their own ideas about what is convenient and what is not. Anyone who reads on the phone fiction in their native language, can be called convenient and reader. I read several and for me any reader without integration with the dictionary is a shortcoming. In addition, most scientific articles in journals — with formulas and graphs — have complex formatting: the text is two-column in 90% of cases, the graphs and formulas are sometimes column wide, sometimes the width of the entire page. In other words, outputting pdf / djvu without reflow mode in those same 90% of cases does not make sense. Finally, the 6 "e-e-reader, which I use, is detrimental to cheap Ponta in the form of smooth text scrolling in scroll mode or page turning animation, it needs convenient and thoughtful control of the settings and display styles of formatted text on the screen. The developers of the readers tried to add the chips requested by the users, their qualifications so far make it possible to compile someone else's code, but do not develop it further.
