Turned in PM and asked to show how to lookBlu rayCDs on the TV.

I decided to answer this topic for everyone, because I am sure that such questions are of interest to many.

So - we will test the movie "Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift"

Direct link to download the disk image here:

After downloading the image we place it in the home video catalog,
run a directory scanHMSand start watching on TV.

In folder\ BDMV \ STREAMmany different files, but we are interested in the largest in size.
In this case, we need only one file \ BDMV \ STREAM \ 00009.m2ts to view.

We choose the remote control from the TV Source - Network - Video library - Folder with the film - Track number 7
since the disc contains as many as 10 audio tracks, a Russian translation on track 7 ...

According to the HMS technology, we make the choice of the sound track through the item (T) "Transcode"

The film is played inmagnificentquality withamazingcontrast and very highdetailing,
without any braking, fading, artifacts,
which corresponds to the true quality of the diskBlu ray

Is it possible to upgrade to version 7?

This is only software developers know, but for example,
On some Sony TVs there was a triple update from versions 5/6/7

In fact, the version number does not affect the basic functions,
only the interface is changing, by and large
yes the number of compatible applications decreases ...

* sysinfo,Thank you for your efforts in this topic! I am interested in the Philips 55PUS6412 / 12 model, I have a few questions
1. It is possible to transmit audio out in passthrough mode (5.1 DD or DTS)
2. Is there support for HDR10?
3. Is it possible to pull files directly from the NAS over the lan, processing on the TV itself?
Perhaps there is a better model, with better quality of the image and ambilight?
Thank you in advance for your reply!

I'm interested in a modelPhilips 55PUS6412

Guide to unpacking the TV here:
https: //www.download.p...pus6412_12_qsg_rus.pdf
Pay special attention to the pictures:
page number 4 picture number 3
page number 6 picture number 8
wrong gripTV when unpacking
will then raise questions, where did uneven ones come from on the screenlight ...

The full user guide can be found here:
http: //download.p4c.ph...pus6412_12_dfu_rus.pdf

1. It is possible to transmit audio out in passthrough mode (5.1 DD or DTS)

On page 49 of the user manual you will see all available modes:
Digital output settings
Digital output settings are available for audio,
transmitted through the optical audio output and through the HDMI ARC.
Digital output format
Stereo: if your devices to play
sound do not support multi-channel processing
beep, select stereo output only
content on the audio playback device.
Multichannel: select output only
audio content5.1(compressed multichannel sound
signal) to the audio playback device.
Multichannel(parallel): select output
contentDolby Digital PlusorDTSon devices
audio playback or home system
cinema

2. Is there support for HDR10?

On page 46 of the user manual you will see all available modes:
Standards supportedHDR10andHybrid Log Gamma HDR

3. Is it possible to pull files directly from the NAS over the lan, processing on the TV itself?

DLNA- is a set of standards for transmitting media content over a network.
He is supported by allPhilips TVswith release date of january2007years and later ...
Specifically, for this TV model,
On page 101 of the user's manual, the following is written literally:
You can use any media server software with certificationDLNAversions1.5(DMS class)

Perhaps there is a better model, with better quality of the image and ambilight?

Definitely better than the model.Philips 55PUS6412
older modelPhilips 55PUS6482I will list the main differences:
1 - Greater Brightness Level (400candela)
2 - Available modeHDR Premium
3 - More Extended Color ModePremium Colors
4 - Sport shows transmissions with better quality due to faster processor (1300PPI)

Measurements of speeds of RAM and disk in various devices caused
lively discussion, so I decided to answer precisely in this topic and clarify two fundamental points:

First moment
What is better to use, TV-box or PC?
Everyone makes a decision independently, but I will try to explain my point of view.

For all fans of various consoles, the explanation is very simple,
A single video library is stored on the PC, if anyone understands what is being said ...
The PC is used as storage, and also as an unattended stream translator,
wrote about this on the forum of expensive TVs here:
SONY Android TV - Discussion (Post sysinfo # 58181906)
Pioneers who, with their pants up, love to run around with flash drives and put them in different hard-to-reach places,
they ask you not to bother answering, continue on your runs ...

The video library is controlled using the factory remote control from the TV,
and you can choose a movie from a local video library, as well as a choice in the online viewing mode:
Attached Image

View of the test film library from the HMS panel:
Attached Image

Movies can be sorted by quality:
Attached Image

An example of selecting a copy of a movie in Blu-Ray quality for viewing on TV:
Attached Image

I personally useHMSalmost10 yearsset up once and forgot
as they say, I have never seen films that it would have been impossible to see ...

Second moment
On the effect of disk speed and video bitrate

Small explanations on the relationship between the speed of disk memory and video bitrate
can be seen on the example of the technology of the famous Youtube video service,
official page with comments and clarifications here:
https: //support.google...youtube/answer/1722171
According to the table below, for comfortable viewing of videos
from Youtube video service the pass-through video path of the TV must have a transmission rate
35-45Mbps video stream ...
For streamsHDRthe transmission rate must be at the level65-85Mbps ...
MPEG-DASH technology breaks content into pieces,
and the browser requests these segments automatically, which are recordedto diskastemporaryfiles ...

Analyze the information received:
If the disk speed is only17 Mbps,
it means we can watch the video stream as artifacts1440p 30fps

If the disk speed is only32 Mbps,
it means we can watch the video stream as artifacts2160p 24fps

If the speed of disk memory79 Mbps,
it means we can watch the video stream as artifacts2160p 60fps

For all opponents of exact numbers and fans who will argue
that supposedly you can use magic software that is capable of increasing
Physical disk speed through the mythical cache, I bring several copies of the screen:
Attached Image

it's just me having such a bad operating system and the wrong device,
which uses the disk as much as 8GB of temporary files?

Any operating system uses a cache,
which is formed when you run any application:
Attached Image

General conclusions:
when the disk system of the phone / set-top box / TV will not have time to record
the incoming video stream to a temporary file, the disk will transmit brake lights and
the stream being played starts to slow down or skip frames,
In most media players, there are settings for just such cases:
Attached Image

The automatic frame skipping mode can also be seen in video service statistics:
Attached Image

analyzing the Dropped Frames line (dropped, dropped, dropped frames)
If in the process of receiving a video stream, the device failed for some reason in time
to process the next frame, this frame is "discarded" ...
This leads to the fact that in the final video appears "empty" frame - frame,
identical to the previous "discarded".
If in the process of receiving a video stream there were a lot of "dropped" frames,
then all movements in the received video fragment will be sharp, "jerked".
The main reasons for the appearance of "discarded" frames are:
lack of performanceCPU,
lack of performancedisk subsystemto record a video with such a bit rate and
badsource quality of the incoming video stream ...

I thank everyone for their attention and interesting questions ...

question:
TV channels through the prefix MGTS.
in the mornings or a long period of idle shutdown of the TV from the console, when the TV is turned on, the black screen turns on but it does not see the prefix, it is solved by turning the TV off / on via the outlet.
what could be the problem?

Good afternoon friends
I make a small review of my 55pos9002 / 12.
TV was bought in Finland. From the moment of payment to installation 13 days.
On the TV warranty for 2 years, but in Finland.
The panel itself is very thin, put it alone and was afraid to damage the matrix, but everything worked out.
Setting the TV 5-7 minutes + channel installation.
Until the remote control is familiar, another button layout.
Due to the location of the speakers, the sound is also not familiar, but overall the sound is good.
Switching between applications - a small delay of about a second, or maybe less, but generally not annoying. The management itself is fast enough. Compared to 9604, the difference is colossal.
HD connected to it works smartly, but it's a pity there are no movie covers. Watched 4k "Batman vs. Superman: At the dawn of justice" shows perfectly. Very pleased with the black color. In general, the colors are bright.
I want to compare SDR and HDR, but as it turned out there is little content, I only have two films. Generally thought that Batman was HDR, but yesterday it turned out that it was not. Although when there were moments when I was sure that it was HDR.
I set up Hue, just a bomb - you can say that I didn’t refuse from Philips just because of the backlight, although I already thought that it was time to change the faith.
Yesterday I couldn’t start one 4k movie - (the format doesn’t support), but everything started through another player, but I like the standard one more by design, I’ll figure out what the trouble is.
Compared 4k and 1080p film, the difference is enormous (Mad Max: Road of Fury)
Yes, thanks to this form, I set up IPTV 700 channels (120 HD), but I would not say that it super loads for a long time (maybe my internet) and the design is terrible (compared to standard TV in 9002 and aplleTV), but as an alternative to Online, let it be. (but I had to search the Internet for how to install the application on the TV forum not)
Applications from aneroid miserable, almost deleted everything.

While this is all, there is no time to deal with it. If you have questions, ask. I will still play and accomplish my goal.

when you turn on the TV turns on the black screen
The correct sequence of actions whenjointusing the TV and set-top box.

Consider as an example the prefix of the Internet provider Beeline Motorola-VIP2262E,
https: //static.beeline...otorola%20VIP2262E.pdf
which is absolutely not important ...
1 - Find the port on the TV with mode supportHDMI-CEC
2 - We connect the consoleHDMIcord with this port
3 - Doingmatchingthe console with the TV, for example according to this instruction:
https: //static.beeline.../Pult-Instruction3.pdf

Thereafteron and offTV produce withconsole console !!!

How can it look like after the complete de-energization of both devices?

1 - Enablenetwork on network extender
2 - We are waiting2 minutes(normal console software download time)
In the process of loading, the prefix may blink light bulbs on the front panel ...
3 - Two minutes after the power supply on the console should be litgreenLight-emitting diode,
and on tvpermanent redLight-emitting diode
4 - Press the "Power"on the console,
the TV will turn on automatically, the prefix will show its menu,
press the "Back" or "TV" button on the console to exit the console menu
5 - To turn off the TV, press the "Power"on the console,
the TV will turn off automatically ...

This sequence will completely save you from black screens when you start the TV.
The coordination of the console is done once, at the very first launch of the console ...

Do absolutely similar actions with any other consoles ...

Owners of Philips 9002, please tell me, is it possible to completely turn off Ambilight?
Or to make it uniform in color, not fulfilling what is happening on the TV screen? I just heard that it is not convenient for some of them to enjoy watching TV with this backlight for a long time.
