The instruction in the header is a bit incorrect for this model. My experience:
1. Installed ALL drivers from the header and from the instructions for the i503 (there is a link to the installation instructions in the topic header).
2. Download the Upgrade Download program - R2.9.9015 from Google (it did not start from the header, from the installation instructions, too)
3. Download the firmware from the header and use the gear button to indicate the program to the file with the firmware (extension * .pac, you need to unpack the archive). I pressed the play button (triangle) in the program.
4.Press the "Volume down" button (!!! - the instructions say the opposite is the volume up), inserted the cord and then inserted the battery into the phone.
5. The program immediately identified the phone in the firmware mode and ran the progress bar flooding the various sections of the firmware into memory.
6. The "Volume down" button was not released until the end of the firmware, until Finish appeared in the Status line and stopped progress bar.
7. At the end of the firmware, pull out the cord and distort the battery (surely, it will not turn on without it).
8. Make the initial setup of Android.
