You all say it right ... theoretically. Shod competently :) And I will not argue with you.
But ... having connected an Android device and switching modes from 720P to 1080R, I see a difference in the pictures.
She turns a little sharper. In the pages of the Internet, in the photo ... This is especially noticeable in films - for example, when the hairs on the head in the film are more clearly visible.
Another thing is that sometimes the sharpness is unnecessary and I switched back to 720P mode (this is if the film was of poor quality).
I used the ATSO CH03H2 projector for 1.5 years, so I speak absolutely confidently, because this is practice.
I'll try this projector with an external android system. Especially since 3D will, as they say, show. :)

I even remembered something else - I have a DVB-T2 receiver connected to the projector. There is a choice of output signal and 720P and 1080R.
Please - I change the mode and ... the image is also corrected. Yes, it does not get 2 times better, but there are changes.
You will say that all the same, the 720P matrix of the projector does not provide a higher resolution, but only converts the signal and adjusts it to this format.
Well, let it be, but if the input signal arrives at a higher quality, then a higher-quality picture will be projected, albeit adjusted for 720P.

Should I download 1080i content for viewing on LED9 or do I still need to download 720i content? ;)

There is a difference, but very insignificant, I watch 720p straight online, I don’t download anything from one "known" resource.
Of course there is not a ball, but an HLS stream. there is compression and it affects the picture, but the difference between a local file with a good bitrate and a stream is not so great that I am not worried. all the same on the projector, everything looks "like a movie." But on TV I prefer to download thick rips of course, but this is rare.
