On a note.

I suffered a lot that my favorite GravityBox does not work completely on our firmware, in part of changing the statusbar icons.
Fortunately, I found a more than adequate replacement, the module for Xposed -Flat Style Bar Indicators
Maybe everything: changing any icons, their colors and locations, showing the speed of data transfer and much more.

ANY change to the system will not allow you to upgrade. from the fact that you have listed - all this affects. If you delete something from the system, and then delete the root, you will return the recovery factory, etc. - it will still not be updated anyway.
There are either conscious changes or official updates. Or, you can score on official updates over the air and flash them through SP, while always having TVRP and root and everything else.
Don't expect much from official updates - it will only fix bugs and improve translations. Nothing fundamentally new and new versions of android - will not.

Thanks for clarifying. Indeed, the manufacturer lays out the firmware, so you can flash it through FT. and for updating it is usually enough to flash only the SYSTEM and BUT sections. Root and all your changes (xposed, removing "unnecessary" software from the system) - will be deleted, you will have to rearrange it. The remaining data will remain in place.
