Before making changes to the firmware of your phone, we RECOMMEND you to make BECAP of your official firmware!
By installing the firmware data, you and only you are responsible for the performance of the devices!
All firmware are provided "as is"!

Before asking a question, carefully read the topic header, and especiallyFAQ for AOSP based builds.

Drivers and Utilities

Description
Read more about CyanogenMod in wiki , And about the firmware based on it in special themes on the XDA (links under the spoiler "Actual versions of firmware and GAPPS").

Instructions

Detailed instructions for installing Android 5. + (Lolipop) you can findhere
For Kexec assemblies, it does not matter what base (stock) kernel is installed on your device, or what basic system you have installed!
You do not need to flash SuperSU, the firmware leads to a bootlap.

Current firmware and GAPPS versions
All custom firmware are installed using a modified Recovery - SafeStrap version 3.75 or later.

GAPPS
ATTENTION! If you install GAPPSafter that, as the first time turn on the firmware (ROM), then you will have to either do wipe data, or manually delete the file /data/system/users/0/runtime-permissions.xml and reboot. Without this, GAPPS will crash. This is due to the new permission system in Android M.

Rules for posting firmware
1. Everything should be under the spoiler: description, screenshots (the link to download and the original theme can not be hidden under the spoiler)
2. Everything should be translated into Russian (if possible).
3. The firmware should have its description (if the author publishes of course), a link to download and, if possible, screenshots and a link to the original topic.

Please adhere to this rule (in my opinion there is nothing complicated).

FAQfor AOSP based builds
First aid
Dear owners of this device always REMEMBER! What is in your hands is not just a phone, but a smartphone in which an operating system is installed. The OS always has a lot of “necessary” settings, which, if changed, can change the functionality of the phone, limit it. Also, any installation of the software can cause conflicts in the OS, as a consequence of all of the above, and various kinds of failures can occur, failures in the software and hardware part, or just any function can be disabled, by chance, by the user.
If any strange things started to happen to your phone, or any function of the smartphone, etc., suddenly stopped working. then:
The first thing to do is to reboot the device (reboot).
If the first item did not give a result, then try to analyze after what actions the “weirdness” started to occur, it is possible to change some settings, install programs, games, try to return the state of the system to the state “before the problem appears”.
If the problem persists, try to reset the cache (wipe cash) through the recovery.
If the problem is still present: use the search in the topic for a keyword.
The problem is still present then you can reinstall the firmware again. If this is not a firmware bug, the probability that your problem will be resolved is 99.9%.
If after all of the above and done you still have a problem, then feel free to contact the forum!

FAQ be sure to read!
1. What is needed flashing?
Android is constantly evolving, and to use the new features, you must constantly monitor the new versions of your operating system and, after their release, update it. You may also want to get some features that are not available in the official firmware version of your device, or change some standard system components (interface replacement, removal and addition of applications installed on the system by default, etc.) you can flash the device modified unofficial firmware. Summarizing, we can say that a flashing is needed to obtain new additional features and eliminate errors of old versions. A list of the most current firmware you can find in the "Current firmware and GAPPS versions".

2.What is Root access and what is it for?
Root access is access to the operating system of your smartphone with administrator rights, which can do everything. That is, without this access, you use your phone as a regular user and can not change the system resources and important settings of the operating system. In most cases, it is not needed, since many lack the available functionality, but sometimes there is a need to do something (let's say to flash the phone with unofficial firmware, install a program that needs root access, make sure that applications are installed on an SD card) you can follow the not very complicated instructions and get root access in almost 5 clicks.
Most often it is needed here when:
  • change the appearance of the OS (status bar, standard icons, a picture when the device is loaded, etc.)
  • creation of Recovery (a special subroutine that allows you to make the device firmware much more convenient and faster, also allows you to backup (save the current state) of your files to the SD card and much more, for more details, see "What is Recovery")
  • access to the terminal (we did not forget that we have a linux system? if you don’t know what linux is and what a terminal (console) is, then this item will not be of particular interest to you)
  • removing the standard software from the phone (let's say you don’t need a facebook client or google maps, you can delete it with superuser rights)
  • installing and launching software that requires high privileges (for example, programs for transferring all types of files via bluetooth, tether applications (a program for distributing the Internet from your phone to other devices, working via wi-fi and creating an access point from the device)
  • installing programs not in the phone’s memory, but on an SD card (this function, though not completely, but already implemented in Android 2.2 and higher)
  • flashing the device with the so-called custom firmware (firmware that has been modified by third-party developers not related to Motorola)
  • many other things that the ordinary user as such is not needed. Well, unusual users already know everything themselves.

3.What is Recovery and what is it for?
Recovery is a separate program that allows you to restore the phone, which can not boot to working condition. It is called when the system is loaded with a special key combination (volume up + on / off / lock button). Standard Recovery unfortunately does not allow flashing the phone with “custom” firmware, and also does not have the ability to make backups (current state for subsequent recovery) of programs, system and other elements.
What needs to be done before starting the firmware or getting root-rights for your device?
Starting the process of flashing your phone, first of all, you need to remember that this will destroy all the information stored in it. Therefore, we strongly advise everyone to backup all important files: contacts, photos, and so on.

4.Where do I get the firmware?
In the topic header.

5. How to get root rights?
To get Root rights, it is enough to flash SuperSU through modified Recovery.
If you have lost root rights after installing the custom firmware, you need to activate the settings"For developers"and in paragraphRoot accessselect itemApss and ADB /

6. How to enable the "For Developers" menu?
To do this, repeatedly click on the build version in the settings menu"About phone". The menu item will appear in the main phone settings menu.

7. What should I do if the ring tone is not installed?
At the root of the system, go to any file manager insystem / media / audio / ringtones, put there the songs previously converted to the format (ogg.) and set the rights of the letter in the properties of the song "R ".
(it is still important to rename the song without spaces or in one word).
Reboot and select your ringtone.

8. How to set the rights of the letter "G"?
This means that you need to set permissions for the file typerw-r - r-- in any convenient file manager

9.What is the core of the firmware?
The kernel is part of the operating system, and it is not only Android, but also other operating systems: Windows, iOS, MacOS, and others.
And the Android kernel is practically the most important part of the operating system, which is responsible for the interaction between all the hardware and the software part of the system. The kernel consists of a set of drivers of all the hardware and memory management systems, network, security, and other basic functions of the operating system.

10.I stitched the device, but it doesn’t load, or it hangs on the boot screen, what should I do?
Basically, before flashing the device to a new version, you need to use system cleaning from the old firmware version called wipe, it clears all user data and system files. Firmware developers always warn you what wipe to do before flashing the device
common wipe
- wipe data / factory reset - This is the formatting of the internal partition, if after that the firmware is not installed, then your device will get into the bootloop
- wipe cache partition - This is the partition cache formatting.
If you did not perform the necessary system cleaning under the wipe tool before the firmware, then it is possible that your device will malfunction or not load at all. If you nevertheless performed the necessary system cleanups, check the integrity of the firmware file using MD5 sums (romodels mainly spread it for reliability) and the size of the file you downloadedmaybe you didn’t get it to the end, check the firmware version; perhaps it needs some additional manipulation in reconnaissance mode, look at the opinions of other users who tried to install this firmware. Perhaps there were problems on certain devices (XT910 / XT912) or in general, if everything is fine, try reinstalling the firmware again and look at the installation process, it should end with the line Successful (or Install from sd card completed), if any error is issued then it is possible that the problem lies in the firmware itself and its installation is not guaranteed on your device.I recommend that you have one version of the firmware (which is installed correctly) on the memory card for restoring the device or unsuccessful firmware, any firmware will be useful only if it were installed 100%.

11. How to take a screen shot (screenshot)?
To do this, simultaneously hold down the screen lock and volume down keys.

12. What are gapps?
Gapps = Gapps = Google Apps - services provided by Google include: Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Talk, Google Docs and Google Sites.
In general, these are standard Android applications that are available in most assemblies of this OS.
These same gapps can be downloaded and installed separately, including from the header of this topic.

AT: Is it possible to switch to CM12.1 already?
ABOUT: CM12.1 is quite stable and can be used as the main system. But with the proviso that the ideal firmware does not exist in principle, no one, no drain, no custom, no CM11, etc. not 100% perfect, there is always a chance to catch a glitch. And since СМ12.1 is only beta so far, one cant is eliminated, but another appears, but nevertheless the firmware is very usable.

AT: What is the screen flicker when locked and what does it look like?
ABOUT: Like this:)

AT: I can not find a market / add a Google account.
ABOUT: GAPPS package is not installed. Download it from the links in the header and install it through your Recovery.

AT: I can not determine which firmware to download, spyder or umts_spyder.
ABOUT: Motorola RAZR (MAXX) = XT910 = umts_spyder
Motorola DROID RAZR (MAXX) =XT912 = spyder

AT: How to install firmware based on AOSP?
ABOUT: Instructions in the topic header.

AT: How to get root-rights on AOSP?
ABOUT: For access with root rights on all firmware from Cyanogenmod 12+, you do not need to install anything. Route is already built into Privacy Guard, you only need to activate it.
This is done as follows:
Settings>About phone>Click on the assembly number 7 times>back to previous menu>Developer Settings>Ruth is right>Only applications.
Is done.

AT: The camera does not work, how to fix it?
ABOUT: If the AOSP Camera does not work in the firmware. Install Google Camera from the Play Store (or equivalent)

AT: Installed an assembly based on AOSP some time ago. Now I saw that since then there have been several updates. Do I need to put all the updates in a row or is it enough to put the latest?
ABOUT: It is enough to put the latest (if you are not updating via OTA).

AT: The program does not work % programname%
ABOUT: Check the compatibility of the program with the assembly based on AOSP. Most likely, this is the problem of the application, not the firmware.

AT: Program % programname% not available in Market. " Device not supported "
ABOUT: The program may not be adapted for Android 5.x. Perhaps the reason is the modified DPI, if you changed it.

AT: Why does the battery consume so much?
ABOUT: 1. For the first 2-3 days after the firmware, a quick discharge of the battery is possible. To calibrate the battery must go through 2-3 cycles of full discharge / battery charge.
ABOUT: 2. after disconnecting from BB, restart and turn off debugging, if enabled.

AT: How to put 3G / WCDMA mode only?
ABOUT: We dial in the dialer * # * # 4636 # * # *, select WCDMA only, go back, after about a minute the phone switches to WCDMA only mode.

AT: I recovered data using Titanium Backup, but my applications don't work?
ABOUT: Do not restore system data, you will not see them because AOSP-based assemblies have a different data structure.

AT: Why does the first 10% charge go so fast?
ABOUT: Because it is actually not 10%, but much less, just the system displays them as 10%.

AT: I requested an AOSP based build and after that I had a folder / 0. What it is?
ABOUT: This is due to the fact that Android 4.x + supports multi-user profiles. You are the first user and your persol folder on sdcard "0". Add another user and a folder "10" will be created for the new user.

AT: There is a very strong battery consumption. What can I do?
ABOUT: You do not need to write about this in the AOSP topics, since it is not known what you were doing and how you configured the installed firmware. Energy consumption by various applications can be tracked through Better battery stats .

AT: I encountered many problems using an AOSP build
ABOUT: Go back to the firmware with MotoBlur.

AT: Why not Developer Preferences ?
ABOUT: They are, just hidden in the android. To make them visible, you must tap the build number in the About Phone section seven times.

AT: On the XT912, the Internet does not work, it does not show the connection, the displayed operator is Verizon, although I have another one.
ABOUT: Put the GSM Patch.

Tested CM 13
First about the bad
Translation by about 60%
Blinking screen not cured
The transition from CM 12 to CM 13, for those who want to transfer their data applications, will be a bit problematic, the paths to the data (or settings backups) on the maps will have to be pre-written (edited) with pens, because the paths have changed
Internal storage / emulated CD / 0
External storage / 78A6-F816 (can be different, but I think depending on the card)
GPS does not work on the native core (so far); the custom kernel for SM 13 did not find
Weak speaker sound
Of the benefits
External SD can be used as internal memory, for this you will have to format it during the first connection (did not check)
Cool curtain with the support of several pages (you can flip to the right to the left)
XT912 does not need a GSM patch, does not edit the file manually, the signal indicator is displayed, SMS comes and goes
Switches between 2G and 3G instantly as the network disappears
Work with the whole, at first glance, smoothly and quickly, although all the assemblies after installing the first couple of days fly

* alexe77,need tests with GAPPS. Perhaps there will be the same brakes as on 5.1, then very few people will be interested in the firmware.

I tried with gaps, just for fun. The dialer is fast. I did not install all my "gentleman's set." I just flashed, flashed gaps, synchronized contacts, ran through the menus and made / received a couple of calls. Gaps chose the most minimal, picot like they are called. The call was received and while working with the phone, a “curtain” without brakes flew out from above, answered the call too without brakes. With the screen off, too, without brakes. I think it is already possible not to be afraid of the gaps, minimal ones anyway (Google Play services froze with a Lakipatcher).

I always put the firmware in a clean, newly created slot.

More did not check. The previously described problems with the speaker and speakerphone, flickering when turned off, met with me. I forgot about gps.

I will share my impressions of 6.x ...! The firmware was flying and pleasing to the eye before installing the gaps (but I can not refuse them)! Incorrect display of battery charge. For those who want something new, disappointment waits - visually nothing is 5.x

To understand this, it is not necessary to install the firmware, you can just watch videos on YouTube, with reviews on MM.

Well, not all the same, we first collect all the available information, and then act! The most common rule: If nothing happens, read the instructions ....! I think there are quite a few people who have installed a new firmware in the hope of seeing a new interface ....
