You can say the latest firmware on the first revision of the tablet, and with older fixes, it does not want to work. Your firmware has been posted in the subject. More new are no longer available, as well as custom recovery. The last recovery was done for firmware 20161122. Just in the 17th, someone tried to install TWRP 3.0.3 on your firmware 20170505 and it seemed to work, but it should be a thread.
Installing the recovery does not affect the rest of the firmware, you just need to have the stock recovery from your firmware available. If after installing the TVRP, it did not work, then flash back the stock recovery and that's it.
