Full firmware
Existsseveral ways device firmware using an SD card on which the firmware image (s) is written:
  1. Firmware from operating mode
  2. Firmware from recovery mode
Regardless of the method chosen, you first need to place the firmware file (s) (mcu.img and / or update.img) in the root of the microSD card with the FAT or FAT32 file system. The presence of other files on the card that are not related to the firmware is not regulated (but it is still desirable that they do not exist).
Method number 1 (from operating mode): Insert the prepared card into the "GPS-card" slot. A message should appear on the screen about the detection of firmware files on the card and a suggestion to perform the update. If you really intend to update the firmware, select the affirmative option. After that, the device will be automatically rebooted into recovery mode, in which the firmware will be updated. At the end of the process, the device will be automatically rebooted in operation. In this case, you may again be asked to update the firmware. This time it is necessary to answer in the negative, and then delete the firmware files from the card (or not to use this card) so that such proposals no longer arise.
Method number 2 (from recovery mode): Load the device in recovery mode (see FAQ, above) with a prepared card inserted in the "GPS-card" slot in advance. Move through the menu, select " update system / mcu image from / sdcard "After that, the firmware will be updated, and the device will remain in recovery mode. You need to reboot it into working mode manually by selecting the menu item" reboot system now ". But before that, it is desirable to remove the firmware card in order to prevent the display of the upgrade offer.
Notes:
  1. the absence of one of the files on the card (mcu.img, update.img) will entail a partial firmware (either Android or MCU, respectively)
  2. Firmware method number 2 when using TWRP-recovery is impossible due to the specificity of the update.img format (this is not the ZIP-archive with which TWRP-recovery works), as well as the impossibility of MCU firmware

There is also a way of flashing GUfrom computer via USB cable connected to the USB port of the OTG head unit.
This method is described.here
If your GU has an RK3188 processor, then for you there is another way of flashing - describedhere
Firmware individual images
In some cases, it may be more convenient not to completely flush the GU (with loss of data and user applications), but to flash only individual firmware images. It is allowed to flash separately the boot.img (boot loader), kernel.img (Linux kernel) and recovery.img (emergency boot loader, recovery) images. Instructions givenhere.

Colleagues, clarify how the DVR module works on this “head
What type of camera is connected (AV or USB), what software is used for recording, etc.?

Well, colleagues. So I "zakirpichil" my device.
I tried to install firmware 1.85. At first he did it from the working mode. But the firmware was not installed, and after a reboot a message appeared about the unsuccessful verification of the installation image.
But I'm a stubborn man! Loaded in recovery, and from there launched an update.
The process went, some errors got on the screen about some failures (everything happened so quickly that it did not have time to read it), and then the device turned off the screen.
Now when you press the "POWER" button, this logo appears on the screen.
Attached Image

... and nothing more.
All described methods of entering the bootloader mode do not work - the computer does not want to recognize the connection of the USB device.
What to do now - I do not know.
I think to write to the Chinese to sell separately the board with Android - this is a small handkerchief standing vertically behind the screen.

P.S. I chatted with Bingo (this is "^ _ ^"). She said that tomorrow she will send some "software" that will need to be put on the GPS-card, and then just turn on the device. And everything will be sewn automatically. Nothing to do, wait.
P.P.S. Long wait for them to send something there. Using a soldering iron (thanks to a work colleague for a sharp eye and injured hands) byof this instructiondevice restored !!!!

Sebekin @ 07.21.2014, 04:04*
without disassembling the firmware and not installing kernel.img?

Instructions for the firmware (replacement) of individual firmware images.

ATTENTION: by following the instructions below, you act at your own risk. For all the negative consequences of the operations listed below, you are solely responsible, and only you.

In some cases, it makes sense instead of a complete firmware of the device to make the firmware of one or several separate images that are included in its composition.
In our firmware images are (in alphabetical order):
backup.img
boot.img
kernel.img
misc.img
oem.img
recovery.img
system.img

The procedure is as follows (for examplekernel.img, for other images everything is similar):
  1. Making a root-access on GU:link
  2. Take the imagekernel.imgFrom the desired firmware:how to disassemble the firmware?
  3. Install (if not available) from the Market "Terminal Emulator":link
  4. Place the image filekernel.imgto rootfully functionalflash drives or memory cards
  5. We insert the USB flash drive into the USB slot of the radio (and if we work with the card, then we insert the card into the slot)
  6. Starting the terminal emulator
  7. We give the command "su"to switch to root mode; we give the necessary permission upon request; we continue to work in the command line of the terminal
  8. Go to the root of our flash drive or memory card:
    cd / mnt / usb_storage
    or
    cd / mnt / usb_storage2
    or
    cd / mnt / external_sd
    or
    cd / mnt / external_sd2
  9. Check the availability of our files on a flash drive (card):
  10. ls
In the text displayed on the screen, we should see the file name.kernel.img
Comment: in fact, we check to which folder the flash drive (card) is mounted. If it turns out that there are no files in this folder, then we give the command to move to another folder (see above)
  11. Having found the file, we give such a command.
    busybox dd if = kernel.img of = / dev / block / mtd / by-name / kernel
    busybox dd if = kernel.img of = / dev / block / platform / emmc / by-name / kernel
If we want to restart the GD immediately after this operation (and it is strongly recommended to do such a reboot), we give another command
    reboot

Please note - the first parameter after the commandbusybox dd (if =) we specify the name of the image file, and the second parameter (of =) - the name of the sectionhard driveEPROM in which this image will be written. As you can intuitively understand, sections have the same names as their corresponding image files (only without the .img extension). Obviously, partition names are fixed and cannot be changed. But the names of image files can be arbitrary - for example, new_boot.img, MySuperRecovery.img, kernel_from_1.77.img, etc. The main thing here is that you yourself do not get confused in these names.

I got this device:http: //kaigele.en.alib...ra_with_HD_TV_box.html
Attached Image

Attached Image

Attached Image

In the next branch there are owners of devices on the KGL platform, but on the RK3066.

Here, like only Ownice are discussed? Or all that on RK3188? I haven’t found Ownice on the RK3188 for the VW Polo 9N3.

Impressions are more positive. Loads quickly, works smartly. Assembled well.

Now what needs work:
1. In the list of cars there is a Polo, the front panel is suitable in size. But! It does not fit in the depth! :)
Attached Image

Rests against the back of the plastic lining.
Attached Image

I decided to shorten it a little, cut off 5 mm from the front of the main body, drilled new holes for attaching the front panel to the body.
Attached Image

But it seems that 5 mm is not enough (no more, otherwise the front panel will not rise), the GPS antenna plug rests. I will think.
2. I took CANBus Decoder for VW from the seller, two power cables. One with QuadLock with an extra connector for CANBus Decoder.
Attached Image

The second - with wires without connector.
Whether there was a native head in the car - I do not know. Stood for some 1 DIN Pioneer. The connector in the car turned out to be ISO (it looks like a native one). Thanks to the one who installed Pioneer, did not cut anything! :)
Only the CAN terminals (orange / brown and the same with white risks) and the thick orange with a yellow stripe were pulled out of the connector.
Attached Image

I bought an ISO dad (100 p), threw the terminals from QuadLock into it.
Attached Image

Attached Image

I returned the CAN terminals to my mother. Thick orange with a yellow stripe, as it turned out, permanent + 12V. That is, for some reason there are two permanent + 12V, one already in the connector! But ILLUM was not there! Strange, could they not be confused at the factory !?
I decided that CANBus Decoder will cope with this, unplugging the two-pin connector with ACC and ILLUM (which, in fact, is not! :).
As a result, he coped with the ACC and ILLUM, turned on / off the key, and dimmed the screen backlight.
By the way, the button illumination behaves like this:
- always on when the head is working;
- when the head is turned off (with a button or key), but the key in the ignition lock - depends on the size;
- not lit, if the key is pulled out - regardless of the size.
Unfortunately, it does not work as a regular backlight. Hopefully some future MCU firmware will fix this. If more and brightness was adjusted along with the rest of the backlight ... Okay, not critical.

Now critical moments:

1. CANBus Decoder does not issue Reverse and Breake signals! Moreover, on the head, if you give them + 12V, the inputs work out correctly.
I plan to connect the rear camera, and if I don’t win the CANBus Decoder, I’ll have to take Reverse from somewhere.
CanBus in settings is set 01 VW & Skoda (simple).
Attached Image

I tried all the options for VW / Audi - to no avail. Where to dig!?

2. At the output of AMP Power, the voltage is greater than + 20V (from where!?). Adapter for the antenna with power, while I am afraid to connect AMP Power to it.

About the sound. In my opinion, not at all audiophile, the sound is quite decent. Exactly better than Pioneer's. And not even worse than the Audi A6 with a regular head!
Although Polo and in the configuration with 8 speakers, then squeeze such a sound from the tweeters installed there - it is necessary to try!
Naturally, it all depends on the source. With a regular radio, of course, not everything is so cool, but tolerable. The audio section did not rewire the radio until it was decided whether it was necessary. Maybe the antenna power will improve the situation.
Also noticed that the sound of the radio depends on the MCU firmware. Experiments are ongoing.

Yes, the backlight should be slightly modified. Large buttons illuminate normally, but encoders (twisters) and small buttons on the edges of the DVD slit are bad.
Diodes are red, not RGB.
Attached Image

Because they shine brightly and are not regulated together with the main backlight, then the RGB option was turned on in the factory settings, and the backlight was slightly dimmed in the palette.

IR receiver is not soldered, there is a place for it:
Attached Image

Any idea what IR can be installed there?

With the built-in microphone there was such a misfortune - it was soldered very high from the board (in the photo - from the top right), therefore it presses against the plastic of the front panel and collects all its vibration.
Attached Image

Accordingly, a hum is heard, the gain level drops, and you are heard only if you bend down and speak directly into the microphone.

For the first time is enough.

Summary: the device is more than worthy!

+ relatively new processor
+ fresh android
+ firmware updated

- while there is no root
- minor interface bugs
- in some places the translation is lame (AUTOMOBILV, for example)

And questions:
How to make fully work CANBus Decoder?
Where does the output of AMP Power voltage more + 20V !?
Is it possible to improve the radio? Record audio?

To be continued ...

* Malaysk,
It is rather a matter of aesthetics. I did not like the models with twists because the twisters were on top ...
Regarding the buttons themselves - they work well, with no response problems.
Yes with them, with buttons - SystemUI.apk I already remade myself.

I have another problem - when I try to synchronize the bluetooth phonebook with the LG G2, the connection is broken every time and synchronization is covered, respectively. On the stock firmware is the same. I cannot understand yet, this is a problem of a radio or phone, because I connected the phone to the standard head of another car - the book was synchronized. In the same way, I connected 2 other phones to the car stereo - their books were synchronized without problems. Maybe someone knows what can be done?

And yet, if someone modified the standard application for listening to the radio - did they not notice the place where the number of cells available for storing stations is determined? I want to reduce them a little.

Posted 12/06/2015 6:32 PM:

* chernykh_aa,
Ali link is broken.

The Can box, or more precisely the Can bus decoder, is an additional unit for the radio tape recorder, which weighs on the beard of wires and allows the radio tape recorder to display on the screen such events as changing climate settings, chambers. Also intercepts the events of pressing the buttons on the steering wheel. Without it, you can connect the radio, but all the described (and a few left behind the scenes) functions will not.

At the moment, this is a universal problem (both on the RK3066 and on the RK3188). Someone is lucky and contacts are synchronized from 911 times, someone shamans over manual editing of system files, to the extent that you can drive all contacts into the file with handles. There is a problem, there is no one hundred percent solution today (even my China MX4 Pro does not want to get in touch with their Chinese head), nonsense: beee :.

911, at the expense of flashing if I honestly do not remember), but the contacts are synchronized inContacts! And the main thing is why I call the contact and in the phone there is a message which sim 1 or 2 you need to use))) until you press 1 - it does not ring.
In general, I always call from the phone itself ..

Here is another feature found. When I press the power button (touch) - the message "Turning off" appears, the screen goes blank.
But after switching back on - all applications that work as services — Arrow, Tasker, and others — are closed! That is, when you turn off the radio, it kills everything!
Is it possible to somehow wean her from this? Whatever Tasker would still be alive, no matter what.

And about disabling Taskera and others. As a crutch in install-recovery.sh, you can write an infinite loop that will check for the presence of a process and, if not, then start it (according to information from xda).
Maybe there is a more elegant solution?

Today and I have the stars agreed o.O. I was driving and stupidly typing the synchronization of contacts in the gu (in the blue-tooth prog), I did not even look at the screen. Then look at the traffic lights, and the contacts are already in the program: D. According to the advice (I do not remember the nickname) I made a backup of the contacts and the bluetooth program from the branch with 3066 titanium (after the next firmware I will try to restore it, they say the contacts immediately appear in the program).

There is a question about the USB: just two flash drives (with data) in the ports can work? For me, only one works. If, with the first connected, insert the second, the second does not appear in the system. It is necessary to disable the first one. But, with one flash drive turned on, you can insert a modem into the second port. He plows without problems.

And I also remembered: When talking through bluetooth from a car, does your interlocutor hear you well? My, besides my voice, they also hear noise. Very similar to the buzz of a transformer or high voltage.

Well, the problem with the button, I decided dramatically - got rid of the button ...
2 flash drives did not try. I have a camera in one port.

By the way, the Chinese camera is quite shoddy in quality - it gives out only a resolution of 640x480. Has anyone tried to connect a normal webcam to your head?
