I'll throw in firewood regarding the usefulness of the android 4.x in the reader. There is such a thing as Japanese comics (manga) that were originally b / w and they are pretty comfortable to read 6 ", but all sensible applications for reading manga have long since abandoned support for android below 4.0 therefore, it’s not very convenient for me now with my NST.

Here is a lie. Orion Viewer on Nuke is really cool. Firstly, it is sharpened on the controller of the Nook screen. Secondly, support for the CBZ format. If the comics are a jpg collection, then you can simply pack them in zip and rename the output file to .cbz. And further, you can set up the screen tap-zones in the program, and scroll the screen by a certain percentage shift (which is simply important for comics, so that the full block of cards will be on the screen), and crop the fields. From my own experience, a series of "The Walking Dead" on Nuk, in landscape-orientation, was just a sight.

Cbr / cbz is just an archive of pictures (png / jpg), there are their perverted formats for sale.

Yeah, Orion Viewer is almost the only application that still supports 2.1. Sorry, but how many times I tried to use it - I was not used to it.
I will then add one more criterion to the application - support for the manga online catalogs and reading without prior downloading / uploading from the PC. I use MangaRock on my tablet - I wanted to read it before going to bed, then I turned on the Wi-Fi, went to the directory, chose what you want to read and read.

As soon as I took the device in my hands, I got a strong disappointment with the quality of the aluminum case manufacturing ... There are 1 to 3 mm gaps between the plastic frame of the screen and the aluminum case !!! Moreover, the gap walks along the perimeter, it is not the same everywhere! The edge of the aluminum case, which goes to the front side is very sharp! Not only is it unpleasant to hold - you can also cut yourself !!! Just disgusting: (And this is after a simply magnificent body of the usual Glowlight, which was with a rubber band around the perimeter ...
Firmware 4.2.1.18, platform 42.1.45_user. Update was found immediately after switching on, it downloads up to 100%, then it says that it will be updated in idle mode, then it starts downloading again ... It has not been updated.
Profile name can not be changed, that would just not do. I had to register a new account on b & n to a new email.

Given all this, somehow I am even afraid to check the moisture protection ...

Well, if I have a marriage, then I am a loser :))) Sending it back to the states, considering that it was bought through the mail-forwarding service, is somehow not ice at all.
Honestly, I can’t compare with other similar ones in the absence of. There are no backlashes and no squeaks, but here the gaps and the sharp edge of the edge are kapets.
The photo shows how the gaps on the side and top sides differ, but the gap can be different both along one side and in general this plastic is glued unevenly. And that's just the edge of the aluminum case, which is visible in the photo, is quite sharp. Is it really impossible to process it a little and to round the sharp edge, at least? .. Or, even better, if it did not exist at all, and the plastic of the protective glass of the screen glued on top of it. In general, I can not understand how they are so ... Even the Chinese tablets for 100 bucks - and those are much more pleasant in this regard. Well, okay, so now, I hope, at least the software will be updated so. And then the instructions say how to update using a .zip file, and they don’t give it a download on the site :)

After several attempts, it was updated to 4.5.0.73 / 45.0.25_user, there are no fresh updates.
In addition to the stupid Readouts in our area, the new update did not bring anything :) Although, some of the previously unnoticed me may have disappeared, due to the lack of long-term use, bugs.
By the way, the touch button terribly enrages, sometimes the device slows down and it is not clear - I missed the button or this device is dull, the previous mechanical was much better.

This is a bummer!
I choose a reading room as a gift.
I just aimed to buy Kindle - tweeters flashed everywhere about the update in November.
It is clear that the book itself does not get worse when the update is released, but the sediment remains :)

I stumbled upon such a cute one. NOOK GlowLight Plus has already found where to take and then such horrors!
I don’t know where to go now considering that H2O is too healthy.
