- OR switched cameras (quickly turned off the main one and turned on the additional one), and then you can even organize recording from the rear view camera.
After the reverse gear is turned off, everything is done in the reverse order, returning to the usual recording from the main camera.

Recording simultaneously from two cameras is not possible. I also saw that in such an expensive mirror it was not implemented, unlike models for $ 100. Maybe it's in the processor (we have Mediatek, and there is Allwinner) or in a modified firmware, where the cameras are not represented in Android as standard main and front ones, but somehow differently.

Regarding the constant image output from the back of the camera - why do you need it? During the ride 99% of the time the mirror is generally with the screen turned off so as not to distract the driver and perform the function of the mirror itself, instead of which the device is installed. The recorder also records the recording with the screen turned off, the navigator also reports information with the screen turned off.

The only thing that did not come up with how to civilize it to stick to the car, because you also need a monitor to drive back + from all sides of this box will stick wires when connected.
