How to enable USB debugging
How to enable USB debugging
1. You need to open the "For Developers" section (if you already have it open, skip this item). To do this, go to the Android settings, at the bottom, select "About phone", down there we find the "Assembly number" and quickly tap on this item 10 times. We agree.
2. Go to the "For Developers" section and turn it on with a switch in the upper right corner of the screen.
3. Scroll down to the "Debug" section and tick the "USB debugging" checkbox. We agree.
How to get to the Boot Menu and Recovery
On the mirror off, you need to hold down the buttonsPower + DVR: the boot menu will open (Bootloader Menu):

If the error "EBR checksum failed" crashes, go to the folder with the firmware, find and delete the Checksum.ini file (if any) and then run the CheckSum_Gen.exe file, wait until the process is complete (a new Checksum.ini file appears in the folder).
13. Uncheck all items except EBR1 and EBR2.
14. Select the "Download only" mode and click on the "Download" button (the button will turn gray).
15. In the off state, connect the USB cable to the mirror.
16. After a successful procedure, a box will open with a check mark. Now you can close the SP Flash Tool.
17. Turn on the mirror with the Power button, after downloading, positively respond to the request to format the internal memory of the device.
18. Copy the backup file created at the beginninguserdata_YYYYMMDD_xxxxxx.backupback to the internal memory of the mirror (sdcard0).
19. Turn off the mirror, load Recovery Mode, select Restore User Data, select backup file.userdata_YYYYMMDD_xxxxxx.backup. Wait for the user partition to recover.
20. At the end of the recovery, select Reboot System Now, and the mirror will reboot in normal mode.
All is ready! The section is increased, user data is restored.

If at some point something went wrong, and you got a brick at the exit, a hang on loading or a perpetual reboot, you can always reinstall the mirror completely according to the instructions for the firmware (and already with the replaced EBR1 and EBR2 files). I warn you: I personally tried the option with only 2.45 GB, the rest of the EBR files were not tested.

Installing Xposed Framework
Detailed instructions from msasoft:Installing Xposed Framework - Allows you to change the settings of applications and firmware without the need to replace the system files. The framework uses downloadable modules that provide various capabilities. For example, you can change the key functions: for example, assign a long press to the HOME button to open the list of running applications (RecentApps), or a long press to the MUTE button to take a screenshot. You can also block the download of selected applications when you turn on the device. And much more.
Useful programs
VRoot - PC program to get root-rights. You need to start the program, connect the device and click Root, then the program will do everything itself. Just do not forget to enable USB debugging in advance.
Root genius - another program to get root-rights. During rutting on the mirror, the Internet must be turned on.
MTK Droid Tools - backup and restore firmware (program for PC).
Registratorviewer - PC player for viewing records with geodata (VideoReg writes them to the subtitle file).

Root explorer - file manager for working with root devices.
DisableService - disable the download of various applications and services.
Root uninstaller - freeze (disable) and remove system and pre-installed applications.
Screenshot Easy - makes screenshots without using hardware buttons (how to take a screenshot using the mirror buttons, until we find it).
Car launcher - Launcher for car radio, and is suitable for our mirror. After installing it, it is advisable to disable (freeze) the stock Launcher using DisableService or Root Uninstaller.
GPS Tag Orange - tracking the location of the device by the coordinates of GPS, Wi-Fi and cellular network. Site to track: gps-trace.com . This version of the program is modified under our mirror (on / off by ignition).
Bluetooth Auto Connect - Wizard for connecting to Bluetooth devices (you can make a connection to the mirror via BT with one button).
Mobileuncle tools - engineering menu, work with the system and much more.
Backlight Manager - Fine-tuning the backlight of the screen, works with our mirrors.

Carrecorder - A new version of the standard DVR application, can be installed over the old one, suitable for 1080p and 720p versions.
GPSButton - program (author mr.mag ) for those who use a standard DVR, it allows you to assign third-party applications to hardware GPS and DVR buttons, works with a modified android.policy.jar.
JC600Tweaks - application (author msasoft ), which opens the hidden settings (Accounts and sync, Security, Power, Special features, On / Off mirror power on schedule, Turn off) and provides the ability (as an option) to turn off the mirror when the ignition is turned off. The application needs root access and the installed Xposed Framework.

VideoReg - A very advanced alternative DVR (software solutions for working in conjunction with it are presented below).
JC600RearViewCamera - the program for the correct operation of the rear view camera in conjunction with VideoReg, assigns VideoReg to the hardware button of the DVR, allows you to assign any application to the hardware GPS button, and optimizes the size of the image from the rear view camera (by mr.mag ). For JC600RearViewCamera to work, it is necessary to turn off the DVR stock program (for example, through the DisableService application on the System tab, find DVR (or DVR, if English is selected) and disable RecordService in it, or remove CarRecorder.apk in general ).
android.policy.jar - the edited Android library from the JC600R firmware from the header, in which the standard application (Google Maps) was removed from the GPS hardware button, and the forced termination of the processes when the ignition was turned off, as this was often incorrect, because of which the device was rebooted ignition off (edited mr.mag ). Attention: make a backup in advance, as there is a chance to spoil the firmware, you will have to reflash the mirror.
Installation instructions android.policy.jar
1. Get root-rights through VRoot or in another way.
2. Install the Root Explorer.
3. Make a backup (for example, copy to a memory card) \ system \ framework \ android.policy.jar.
4. Remove the files android.policy.jar and android.policy.odex.
5. Copy the edited android.policy.jar in their place.
6. Reboot the device.
If everything is done correctly, then after a while the message "Android Update: Application Optimization 1 from XXX" will appear. You need to wait until updated.
If the device was loaded without optimizing the application, then the old files android.policy.jar and android.policy.odex were not deleted.
If the device does not turn on or hangs with the Android logo, then the firmware has flown, you need to reflash - see the "Firmware" section above.

I did not quite understand the idea ... and we don’t have a proximity sensor.

I mean that since it is possible to switch from one camera to another using some kind of trigger (in the add-on to VideoReg it is implemented as an proximity sensor), can another trigger be used for this? For example, a signal from your program.

Does your program receive a signal from the reverse gear (button code) and output the image from the rear view camera on top of the other windows (as in the pre-installed DVR)?

I'm not a programmer, so I will try to explain in my own words. So, your program determines that the backward speed is enabled, sends some kind of trigger command (for example, using Tasker) to the DVR to:
- OR turned off the recording, allowing your program to turn on the rear camera and show a picture of it;
- OR switched cameras (quickly turned off the main one and turned on the additional one), and then you can even organize recording from the rear view camera.
After the reverse gear is turned off, everything is done in the reverse order, returning to the usual recording from the main camera.

Yes, just like the standard one in the mirror.
I can send intents on switching on from my program, no problem, you can even respond to the intents that the mirror sends, I made the camera switch on them. Is there such a DVR or addon that you can send them to?

SomehowMega addonto VideoReg it does. In general, it is necessary to see the intents used inVideoReg.

If your program sends intents directly to VideoReg (such as "turn off the recording, switch to the front camera, turn on the recording" - then "turn off the recording, switch to the main camera, turn on the recording"), then everything will be perfectly organized (even will be recording from the rear view camera). And the problem with our native oak DVR will be solved! :)

* FMeugene,
I have to study this addon, I have never seen it before. Or if you know what to send to him, I can do it right away.
Only in intents there is a minus, they are asynchronous. It is sent, but there is no information about what was received and processed.

* mr.maglink to addon above. This is just an add-on, an extension of VideoReg functionality, made with Tasker and packed in apk. That is, the addon uses VideoReg capabilities, including intents in it. What are the intents, I do not know, I do not understand them (not a programmer never). If the VideoReg has the necessary intents, then with their help, you can probably control the behavior of the cameras (since the addon can do this, it means that other programs, too, I think, can). You can see if the intentions are necessary.VideoReg?

I think it is better to make two edits into which the intents can be registered, sent when the SX is turned on.

Yeah, I see.
And is there any intention of something like SwitchCameras or SwapCameras (like switching cameras)? If there is, then it can be done so that your program does not take up the camera, but simply sends the content to VideoReg?
for example
For example, your program receives a back-up signal and sends intents to VideoRegStopRecord ->SwitchCameras ->Startrecord . VideoReg stops recording, switches the cameras inside itself and immediately starts recording from the back camera (it can, I checked, sees the rear-view camera as the front one).
Then your program receives a signal to turn off the reverse gear and again sends Intents to VideoRegStopRecord ->SwitchCameras ->Startrecord. VideoReg stops recording again, switches the cameras inside itself and immediately starts recording from the main camera.

* FMeugene,
I did, the program raises and collapses VideoReg, switches cameras in it, records from them, but I did not like it.
The rear camera turns on for a long time, up to 7-10 seconds. and the cameras do not always switch, although the intent is sent.
The DVR button is hard coded VideoReg. When my program starts up, VideoReg also starts.
In general, I will also write a program that will itself output a picture from the back of the camera and control the VideoReg, which will only record from the front.

* mr.magIt is a pity that not everything is so smooth. Let's put all your programs together and summarize what each does and which ones are relevant:

GPSButton.apk- A program to assign any program to the GPS button. In order for the standard program not to work, you need to edit android.policy.jar.What exactly to rule?
JC600RearViewCamera.apk- as I understand it, this version is no longer relevant, its updated version will be in conjunction with VideoReg.
JC600 & VideoReg.apk- raises and collapses VideoReg, switches cameras in it, records from them, but does not always work for a long time. The DVR button is assigned VideoReg.Do I need to edit something in android.policy.jar? Do I need to manually disable autoload of the standard recorder?

If the last program has delays and does not always work, then it makes sense to simplify the program, as you suggested earlier. Let it be easier and more stable version of it, without recording from the back of the camera and without using VideoReg for changing cameras.

Let's summarize what will be in the new version: Startup your program when you turn on the device. The program launches VideoReg. When you turn on the reverse gear, the program turns off recording in VideoReg, turns on the rear camera and displays a picture of it (as a standard program). When the reverse gear is turned off, the program removes the picture from the back camera, turns it off and then starts recording to VideoReg again. Plus, the DVR button will be assigned VideoReg. All right

Who has the BTUpgrade program in the firmware and does it work? Updates the second bluetooth module, the one that hands free

Can I see this in the firmware files? Did you download the archive with the firmware? Or tell me where in the device itself is to look.

But ideally, of course it would be to redistribute the internal memory

The same problem - the memory for installing applications is sorely lacking. Our device is on Mediatek, so theoretically you can expand the memory - I redistributed the memory on my tablet like this:The way to expand the internal memory. We must try to findmeteos mtk rom edit just for our processor and put normal recovery touch , because we do not have volume buttons and it is impossible to manage normal recovery. I tried it in the same way, but the device was bricked up - apparently because of the improper meteos mtk rom edit and / or buggy recovery touch that I installed.

Good day! I wanted to buy myself this device AVS0588DVR. Unlike Jimi, it can be fixed in a normal way, not on top of a mirror (I did not find a version of this one). As far as I understand, recording is carried out only from the front of the camera, and the back is only for parking? I read the topic, I did not quite understand how this device works, and what they are trying to remake in it)
It became interesting, is it possible to make it so that the recording was carried out simultaneously from two cameras, and by default the rear camera image was displayed on the monitor (just the meaning of the front camera output is not quite clear to me :)? It seems that the unit is screwed up, but it cannot write to two channels, unlike the more ancient recorders.
Thank!

* daftwolfLook carefully at the photos in the cap, I have a Jimi JC600R with a regular mount - I specifically took this model. Just when orderingAliexpressTell the seller what you want to mirror the Specific version and name the brand of your car (look at the model for your model or send a photo with the dimensions to the seller). You can check withVizantabout their model 950K, do they have a version with a standard mount. Vizant of all analogues of this mirror is the most attractive in terms of functionality and price.

Recording by the built-in DVR program is carried out only from the front camera and the recording is interrupted while the rear camera is on. Recording simultaneously from two cameras is not possible. I also saw that in such an expensive mirror it was not implemented, unlike models for $ 100. Maybe it's in the processor (we have Mediatek, and there is Allwinner) or in a modified firmware, where the cameras are not represented in Android as standard main and front ones, but somehow differently.

Regarding the constant image output from the back of the camera - why do you need it? During the ride 99% of the time the mirror is generally with the screen turned off so as not to distract the driver and perform the function of the mirror itself, instead of which the device is installed. The recorder also records the recording with the screen turned off, the navigator also reports information with the screen turned off.

What is it trying to remake?
- First, the built-in DVR program is completely poor in functionality (from the settings only the choice of volume for recording and microphone on / off), as well as buggy (long intervals between the rollers, random length of the roller, loss of the rollers). But there is a great program.VideoRegwith tremendous opportunities that dearmr.magand trying to adapt to our mirror by writing additional software to work with the rear view camera.
- Secondly,mr.magWrote software to reassign hardware buttons GPS and DVR to other programs.
- Thirdly, byTaskerI try to automate as many moments of the mirror as possible, as well as assign other applications to the launcher buttons.

* FMeugene,Thanks for the detailed answer! It turns out that Jimi also does not write from two cameras at the same time, as stated on some sites. Honestly, the android addition is a very necessary thing (a navigator, and a bunch of other software), but it's still more relevant to have a permanent recording from two cameras (to me personally). I am not a programmer, I don’t know the subtleties, but I have a tablet with android, so if you open two different programs for video recording there, they work in parallel, if you use one camera on one, on the other, it works, when you try to change the camera, the program crashes (i.e., two programs cannot be used simultaneously by one camera).

Not quite on the topic: what can you advise from the mirrors that write two channels of video (if you know)? And then the sites can also write that 2 working channels, but in fact not.

* daftwolfAll Jimi analogues do not write from two cameras at the same time.

I tried to turn on the tablet and on the smartphone focus with two cameras in different applications, I did not succeed. Probably the point is stuffing your tablet. What video recording software do you use? How do you switch programs?

There are quite a few mirrors with the Allwinner processor that write from two cameras at the same time - lookhere, hereandthere, and also look mirrors of a seriesShift.

Do you want the rear view camera to write a picture constantly or only when the reverse gear is on? I don’t know how it is with others, but my rear view camera heats up very quickly - I don’t think that long work will do her good.

The camera writes down when the window is minimized, but any installed one is not.

I have AVIS AVS1080BOX 2CH on a motorcycle on an ambarella processor, writes to two channels of 1920x1080, it does not seem to get warm, two video files are being created simultaneously. The only thing that did not come up with how to civilize it to stick to the car, because you also need a monitor to drive back + from all sides of this box will stick wires when connected.
Thanks for the tips, look ;-)

* daftwolfThis device is of a completely different type, so it makes no sense to discuss it here.
