Well, I recently acquired a new surfboard about 4 per m3. While enjoyed one day. My concerns about performance dissipated and I do not regret that I bought a fanless version, and did not pay 100 bucks for i5. Even if, on the contrary, the version on the M3 was more expensive than the i5, I would take it :)
Here is a small comparison with my old Surface Pro i5 128gb:
- The performance of the processor is about the same, in my eyes I certainly did not notice the difference.
- The performance of the graphics is MUCH higher, due to this all the games that were slowing down on a treshka here go with a bang. I tried the PSP emulator, Pillars of Eternity and even heavy games through the android emulator now go at full speed and with sound. On a treshka it all slowed down, but in Pillars of Eternity there was a frame-by-frame animation at all :)
- Complete silence, the throttle is squeaking very, very quietly, people complained about some tablets on the old Core M
- There is no strong heating and throttling. Yesterday, after an hour of play, the tablet remained slightly warm, whereas the treshka was red-hot and the cooler worked to its fullest. Awesome! Apparently the graphics adapter is so strong that the processor does not require much load.
- First there were problems with the flickering of the backlight, corrected with the latest drivers. But with native video drivers there is a problem when playing multimedia content. Black color is faded, the image with a distorted color temperature. I just decided to install Intel’s native drivers from the Intel 515 site. Through them, I turned off all the enhancers and everything fell into place. The screen is better than treshka, on calibration and contrast.
- The speakers are much louder. I already had enough volume, and they not only added volume, but also made the sound cleaner. Now even a macbook about 15 retina sounds worse than a tablet!
- Well, what is lighter and thinner, I think it’s worth writing about a convenient mounting of the stylus. So it is clear that this is a plus.
- Oh, yes, charging is very small. Almost the same size as from ip Air! At the same time charges the tablet in about 2.5 hours. Such charging is also an advantage of the fanless version only.

Overall very pleased. At first he was afraid that I was changing the awl on soap, and with a significant overpayment. But now I understand that it was worth it.
