Before flashing - check! Be sure to read!

Attention! Warning to all who want to flash (fromchumburka )
In order to start flashing, there is little courage and knowledge how to drive the "animal" into the bootloader ... Having experience in "killing" similar devices, I watch out for newbies ... as in the well-known cartoon, it’s better to lose an hour, then five minutes to fly "...
Therefore, I repeat and describe the instructions for those who want to flash:
EVERYTHING YOU DO WITH YOUR DEVICE, YOU DO AT YOUR OWN RISK
1. BEFORE RESPONDING, THINK: DO YOU NEED IT?
2. ARE YOU READY TO LOSE THE WARRANTIES? This is elementary: it is known - in the service centers not amateurs are sitting, and they will be able to compare firmware versions.
3. DO YOU KNOW HOW TO REQUEST DEVICES? EXACTLY BE ABLE? SURE THAT ???
4. ARE YOU SURE THAT THIS IS THE FIRMWARE THAT YOU NEED? WHAT DOES IT SHALL BE FROM YOUR DEVICE? WHAT DOES IT HAVE NO THOSE GLUCKS THAT ARE GIVING TO YOU? DO YOU CAN NAME THESE GLUKS IN BRIEF? NOT FROM FORUM OR TALKS WITH FRIENDS, BECAUSE OF YOUR DEVICE?
5. ARE YOU READY FOR WHAT THE “ZINGERIE” CAN DECLINE? DON'T SHORT POSTED MONEY? AND IN SERVICE IT MAY AND DO NOT ACCEPT THE WARRANTY ...
6. ARE YOU READY TO THAT AFTER THE INSTALLATION OF A NON-URGENT FIRMWARE DEVICE WILL BE IDENTIFIED AS MITAK A701 AND THE NATIVE FIRMWARE WILL NOT AT IT?

Weigh, please, all the "YES" and "NO" received when answering these questions. And think again - and what for it is needed?

NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT WE DO WITH YOUR DEVICES, NO ONE, EXCEPT US, CAN NOT BE CARRIED OUT. AND IT IS NOT WORTH TO SEARCH FOR HELP - THINK YOU NEED TO THINK BEFORE CLICKING THE UPDATE BUTTON!
So we think ten times before ... And the firmware from another device is 100% DEPRECIED WARRANTY

Instruction number 2 !!! Suitable for all devices!
Before flashing the device, be sure to do the following:
1) Get at least 600 tanks from a zagashnik!
2) Wipe the device with a cloth and put it on the shelf and DO NOT TOUCH the working device!
3) If itching to change something in the device - look at 600 bucks and think that with the most unfortunate scenario, this money will have to be paid for a new device.
4) If, nevertheless, a desire has appeared, then finish at least 3 classes of a comprehensive school - be able to read at least by letter, respectively!
Writing is not necessary!
5) Go to PC training courses
Be sure to subcourse the use of the Internet search engine google.com and search button (Search) in the forums.
6) Get the instruction out of the box (for official devices it will be in Russian)
7) Read, read and read, as comrade bequeathed to us .... mun, Lvsw, incorect, etc.
If none of the above will help ....
9) Buy samsung, nokia, etc. And do not fool your head, neither yourself nor people.
In all other cases, we wish to the forum!

Saving data. (Backup)

The first thing to do before each firmware is to save your data, passwords, data about the Owner Information and Device ID.
If you are flashing a new Radio, or a new SPL, the data should not be lost, but if you are flashing a new ROM, all your data will definitely be lost during the flashing.

It is not recommended to do a full backup / restore data when changing the version of the ROM, even if it is done without changing the OS (operating system).

Manually record your following data:

1) Save Owner Information
To do this, click Start / Settings (Settings / Owner Information).

Copy the information accurately, as the registration of some programs is associated with this data.

2) Write down the ID of your device (Device ID)
To do this, go to Start (Start Menu) / Settings (Settings) / System (System), then click the Details button (About)
Write down the name of your device The name of the device (Device name).

3) Save the registration information of the programs, registration codes.
Make sure that you have copied all of your registration information, so that you can re-register your programs after updating your ROM.
Do not forget to write down any program configuration values.

4) Save your documents and data.
To do this, synchronize your device with your desktop PC, make sure that Activesync has finished synchronization, open Explorer, and copy your documents and data to the desktop, or to another location on your desktop PC, to further back up your documents and data into your PDA.

Now you are ready to flashing your device.

Alex_DFR, please write a small instruction on flashing FS LOOX 520 with your firmware.

Alex_DFR Date В· May 24, 2007 7:32:48 PM
In general, the process is simple - unpack it into an arbitrary directory on the hard disk and PocketLOOX5xxFlashTool.exe, however, you need to be very careful - if the light is cut out during the firmware / the computer is flooded, the firmware process after the update is broken may not be trivial pda The solution is to either enter the bootloader (record + power + reset - in new ones, in old ones - contacts + power + reset) and either immediately connect the PDA and start the firmware, or first go to the recovery mode in the flash driver and then connect.

Failed to flash. On dolphins it says: "flash is protected"

Well, sorry, apparently your PDA is really locked. Please inform the language of your PDA and the version of the current firmware in the relevant topic.

For flashing without ActiveSync.
1) Take this set, unpack, copy the firmware into the folder with it.
2) Copy the file os_213u.nbf for example in C: \
3) On the device, press the Voice Recorder + Power buttons, and poke the reset button (Hold the Voice Recorder and Power buttons until dolphins appear)
4) Connect the device to the PC, in the task manager, shoot the process - wcescomm.exe
5) Run mtty, choose Port: USB, connect.
6) If mtty caused the error and closed, just restart mtty, if commands are not recruited, then repeat the procedure from point 3.
7) in mtty enter the command:
>l c: \ os_213u.nbf
After the end of the process there will be an inscription about error, disconnect the device from the PC.
9) Start the flash driver, press "next" until you see dolphins.
10) Connect the device to the PC and flash it.
