The sound processor installed on our devices, and this ROHM BD37534FV and analogs, including the frequently-encountered BD3702FV, has the following functions:
• Three-band parametric equalizer with gain control within -20dB - + 20dB, frequency and Q-factor of the filter in each band.
• Adjustable loudness unit with gain from 0dB to + 20dB, with setting of filter frequency and high frequency suppression level.
• Subwoofer output settings, including the choice of signal source, cut-off frequency, phase, and channel gain.
In the standard implementation, all of the above is not taken into account and is not supported:
• Instead of a 3-band parametric equalizer, an externally 9-band graphic, with very strange logic of operation, is bolted - each of 3 groups of 3 bands adjusts one processor band, averaging its values. Apparently, a child of Chinese marketing.
• Loudness is not made using the built-in hardware unit, but by simply raising the low and high frequencies, which is far from the same.
• Subwoofer settings are fixed and not configurable.
In addition, in the standard implementation, the equalizer settings apply to any input, be it a system, radio, DVD, etc. Experience suggests that it is desirable to have separate equalizer settings for different inputs - the sound from the radio, for example, often wants to be corrected in a completely different way than when listening to music from files or a CD.

Description
Refinement consists of hardware modification and software.
The hardware modification consists in switching the I2C bus, which controls the sound processor, from the MCU to the Android board.
The software modification is divided into two parts - the system patch and the user equalizer application.
The system patch consists of a module for the Xposed Framework, and two files - a library that allows you to call Linux functions from Android and a device driver to control the I2C bus.
The user application allows you to conveniently manage all of this - it is an equalizer, balance and settings.

Hardware modification
It is necessary to switch the control bus of the I2C sound processor, as shown in the diagram:

The printed circuit boards of different devices are different, so it’s impossible to give general instructions. The general rule is this: to find on the board the sound processor itself and the chip-sound codec WM8731, and to call resistors from their respective pins. Well, then in the circumstances.

Software patch
Copy the file libjnidispatch.so to the / system / lib directory and set permissions to 644.
Check if there are i2c-0 ... i2c-4 files in the / dev directory, if not, then copy the i2c-dev.ko file to the / system / lib / modules directory and set the permissions 644; if the i2c-0 files ... i2c-4 is already there, then you don’t need to do anything - it means that the I2C bus driver is already compiled into the kernel. According to observations, in the firmware for the RK3066 there is no driver in the kernel and it is necessary to copy it, but in the firmware for RK3188 the driver is already in the kernel.
Next you need to install MTCCSC.apk - this is the module for the Xposed Framework - and activate it in Xposed itself.
Now you need to reboot. After the reboot, go to the Xposed Installer, Modules, find the MTC Custom Sound Control, click on it, and it displays the status. If everything went well, we will see this (channel may change, but, as a rule, it is equal to 4 at RK3188 and 0 at RK3066):

Status can be one of the following:
• No patch detected - either the MTCCSC module is not activated, or the device has not yet rebooted after installation.
• mcu, No device driver i2c-dev - means that on a device that requires the i2c-dev.ko driver, it was not copied to / system / lib / modules, or a problem with access rights.
• mcu, Exception com / sevenfloor / mtccsc / I2cBus $ CLib - indicates the absence of the library file libjnidispatch.so or problems with access rights to this file.
• No access to / dev / i2c- ?;<additional error text>- despite the presence of a driver, it is impossible to get programmatic access to the i2c bus through driver files. Normally this should not happen, and if it happens, you need to contact the author for further proceedings.
• mcu, Error in write () 11 (no response from i2c slave) - program bus access works, but the sound processor on the bus is not detected - it is necessary to check the soldering, somewhere something was done wrong.
• mcu, Error in write () 110 (no response from i2c slave) - the same.
• i2c, Channel x (x-number) - everything works correctly

Equalizer app
After installing the software patch and if you have a successful status, you can install SoundControl.apk - this is the equalizer. Low / Medium / High - three bands of hardware equalizer. Adjustable gain level from -20dB to + 20dB, frequency and quality of the filter. To understand these settings, it is worth getting acquainted with the principle of operation of the parametric equalizer, everything is easily searched on the Internet. In a nutshell, we change the signal level at a frequency, while the level changes in a certain range around. The smaller the Q, the more widespread the frequency range the adjustment extends, and the larger the Q, the narrower the width of the affected frequency band.
Loudness can also be read on Wikipedia, in short, it is a non-linear, volume-dependent distortion of the frequency response for a more equal perception of sound at different volume levels. In general, the adjustment lowers the level at the selected frequency. Also, the high frequencies by the HiCut parameter are slightly muffled - the smaller, the less this happens, the more - the stronger. Turn the volume knob here and there - only the loudness component changes (-20 dB in the examples above),

when the tire rang, my 23 leg of the WM8731 codec corresponded to 25 leg of BD3702FV and 24 leg of WM8731 26 leg of BD3702FV, respectively. And really now everything is connected and works with overlap, can be seen on this photo

But what is this? The joke is that the original picture with the scheme, which I took as the basis (authorship2x4ever) just contained exactly such a connection. Then, when communicating in PM (I forgot already with whom) it turned out that the legs were mixed up. I re-read the datasheets, found that it really is in BD37 * 25-SCL, 26-SDA, in WM8731 24-SCLK, 23-SDIN and, therefore, properly connect 25-24 and 26-23. Made corrections to the scheme.
And then you write that it works the opposite for you from the corrected one.
Just some kind of tin, I will go to call back in fact! :)

Yes, for those who may be afraid of such problems - tangled wires do not burn anything, just does not work.

* lieutenantcheck yourself again, maybe you got your legs mixed up twice (i.e., you got them mixed up once, and then you crossed them and eventually worked).
Although I have BD37534FV, and you have BD3702FV, but according to the datasheets they all have the same legs.

Then I took it apart and checked it again, sort of like on a datasheet, only the resistance near the MCU is not as in the instructions (on the contrary), apparently this confused me.
