For a long time it did not work to get the usb modem to work on this router, tried all the firmware from the topic, and finally installed this firmwareopenwrt-15.05.1-brcm63xx-generic-A4001N-squashfs-cfe.bin, installed the driver, inserted the modem and it worked.
