On the h522y model, getting root may not be the first attempt.
Ways to get root on various firmware

Solving the problem of memory and application work in the background.

The solution is to change the settings of the built-in low memory killer.
To work you need root!
Downloading a program that can do this. I used Kernel Adiutor. Go to the desired section and select the profile Medium or Aggressive.

How to reset to factory settings (wipe)?

1. Turn off the phone with the power button.
2. Press the power button and the volume down simultaneously.
3. As soon as the LG logo lights up - release the power button and hold it down again (while continuing to hold the volume down button).
If everything is done correctly, you will see a menu where you can choose to reset to factory settings (control of volume buttons, confirmation - power button).

Installing firmware using the LG Flash Tool (instruction is taken from the G4 branch)

Attention! Be careful! LG Flash Tool Implements the firmware bypassing the device validation service from LG and allows you to flash firmware from other regions into the device!
These actions can lead to complete or partial inoperability of the device !!!

1. Download the driver for the device and the corresponding firmware in kdz format.
2. DownloadLG Flash Tool
3. Turn on the phone debug mode via USB.
4. Transfer the phone to the download mode (from the off state, connect it to the PC using the USB cable, holding down the "volume +" button)
5. We are waiting for the installation of the port driver.
6. Run the LG Flash Tool on behalf of the PC Administrator (If an error occurs, you will most likely need to download and install Microsoft Visual C Redistributable)
7. In the main window, in the "Select Type" items, select CDMA, "PhoneType", select DIAG and click "Normal Flash" to update the firmware or "CSE Flash" for firmware with a complete reset of all data.

A tale about how I got the root in 2019 (on H522Y). If you are interested, you can read my story, and below there will be a short guide to rutting.

Story

Decided to use the version of KingRouth V462. I downloaded, installed, so far nothing new. I decided to flash the root for the first time, it did not work out. The second time - again failed. Well, I think, "I need more patience and everything will break."
Not. After 10 attempts, I realized thatGoogle decided to update protectionfrom my crooked pens. I did not give up, I "smoked" 4pd a bit, and I realized that I need to upgrade kinggut to the latest version.
DownloadedKingRoot V5.3.7, I started flashing the root - and lo and behold! - from 1 attempt at meit turned out to trick protection.
But the adventures are not over yet, as KR will not give you full root-rights.
So I wanted to change the CD to supersu, then to demolish it and install Magisk (not yet installed at the time of writing).
I downloaded, which means Super-Sume v9.1.9, I click on the big blue button - the process has hung,Nothing happens(I waited 10 minutes, incidentally bending everyone in Erlenberg in tanks).
I guessed that modern problems require modern solutions, and downloaded Super-Sume v9.8.9. But he completely refused to run.
Again, “eating” 4pd, read the post that you can downgrade the Korean car to v4.6.2. I decided to try it on myself.
Removed new version, previouslySAVINGbackup rue. I installed 4.6.2, I started flashing the root - an error. Again I think, well, everything, I cried my TRVP with the hposed.
Just in case, I downloaded the root checker, I began to check - РљР responded to the request, which turned out to be surprising for me (and a root error occurred). Root checkerturned greenfrom permission of the CD.
Then I ran to put Super-Sume v 9.1.9 - demolished KingRuth, put the supersu and rekoveri. The end of the story.
P. S. In the course of the rutting, I never reset the phone.

To get the root, I:
1. Install KingRootV5.3.7;
2. I received the root, and then deleted the application withdata storage;
3. Installed KingRoot V4.6.2, and received the root again (even if there is an error, anyway, re-enter the application and make sure that the Kingrut functions are available);
4. Installed Super-Sume v9.1.9 and replaced KingRouth with SuperSu.
Is done.
P. S. S. If you are going to follow my tactics, just in case, check the root after 3 steps with a RootChecker.

The partition is not mounted in the read and write mode, I go into the root explorer and nothing works there, I go and write via the Terminal, I also get the "Read Only File System" failure, reboot the device, nothing has changed, I restore backup system + cache + data + boot, I get a refusal to see the memory (and the SD card too), okay, I restore everything TWRP has saved (all partitions (about 20 pieces)), the device has come to life, the system is being written, but these folders do not want to be deleted, I’m getting this error when I get new and again, I rebuild in a new way, I go to TWRP and there, for the sake of interest, through the file manager, I delete these tails and Auger is refused !!! Error mounting partition in RW mode !!! What kind of higher forces do not allow to remove these tails? Selinux? Sepolicy rights? Then why can the system partition be formatted without any problems? Put the firmware?

And the camera does not want to work there at the core or blob level? I just look at the kernel version 3.10.72 there. Will our camera blobs work with this kernel?
