With the sound of the speaker - loud, but no more, I think even he will disappoint you. The speaker for calls has excellent sound, everything is fine with headphones too.
The quality of the display in comparison with the Nexus 5 - in 5, in my opinion, is a more reddish screen, in 5x it is more bluish. The interface at 5x has smaller icons in appearance, everything looks a little bit (10% of the force) more clear. The rest is the same.
There are no problems with the screen on the phone.
Personal opinion: you should not change, I will wait obviously for nexus 7 and then I will update. I bought the phone because it is interesting that it will be used later in the future by my mom. I'm staying at 5 because I got used to and nothing supernatural to make me go to 5x there.
