Try it. Only with the corrected kernel (image-new.img)! REQUIRED! Save on the device and the working kernel that you dropped (boot.img). Put through the recovery. If something goes wrong (or even if the tablet boots, but will not start when charging), then also put a previously saved kernel through the recovery.
