Description:
The ASUS DSL-N12U ADSL2 + router enables wireless Internet access using an existing ADSL network. This device is equipped with a built-in USB-port, which is used to connect peripheral devices: 3G / 4G modem, printer or scanner. These devices can use all computers connected to the network. This model is universal, as it can function as a router or ADSL modem. Applications of Annex standards extend the capabilities of the incoming stream and increase its speed to 24 Mbps. ASUS DSL-N12U has a standard Wi-Fi module and 2 external removable antennas, which amplify the signal by 5 dBi. Due to this, the connection speed can reach 300 Mbps. Built-in 19 dBM transmitter enhances signal range and stability. This model has an updated certification program for WPA and WPA2 devices, which improves control over the security of data transmitted by the network.

I join the question. Has anyone tried asking Oleg to put it on him? I tried DD-WRT from similar models for hardware - did not work.
It just does not work with modems that emulate a lan port. This can only be fixed by the firmware, but asus has not released new firmware for this device for a long time, and I can't find a suitable one for custom, because for this particular device they don’t exist, I’m looking for similar ones (there are hardware analogues of this device without DSL not needed)...

Eh, lying around like that, I could use a lot (a router for 4G modem, waffle repeater), but the lack of a normal firmware spoils everything ...

No, it does not help. On the website, an openwrite says that in theory it should be supported, but you need to build a firmware for it, how to do it - I do not know.

Theoretically, yes, But for this you need at least such firmware, but to find it is a completely different question.

* Ivvyprim,
Not that, putting a whole computer under a bridge is not the case, especially where I need it (at the dacha or with relatives I want to install) there is no desktop PC, only laptops (I don’t want to chain the laptop to one place).

Here the turn was already formed, suddenly.

I remind you that the firmware will have at least two problems:

1. There is no support for DSL, and there will not be, the device turns into just a router.
2. Rollback without additional devices is possible.

Anyone still wanting? I use, there are no problems, the device works stably, despite the fact that periodically (once a month) hung on the off-firmware.

I do not need adsl. So, if there is a firmware on B1, I will be very grateful.

Hey. How is it going? And then I also needed my modem here only in the router mode. And on the native firmware does not want to pick up the address via DHCP.

Please tell me, is it possible to set up this modem as a repeater in order to catch a neighbor's Wi-Fi, amplify and distribute it in your apartment?
