The "standard" file manager walks over a flash drive without getting root rights, and it is visible.
Root explorer requests root rights, and therefore the flash drive is not visible to it.

This creates a problem such that all applications running as root
like Total commander, Root explorer with a flash drive can not work.
Titanium backup manager, for example, can not see the flash drive
and make backup on it.

Even on the technical issue, we can say that if we are working as root, then the directory / storage / sdcard0 / is not mounted at all,
and if we work from a regular user, then the directory is mounted. Moreover, this behavior takes place on the firmware version
ML3-2014.12.24-V5 and on the ML3-2015.02.05-V9 version.
