No problem, I said that I was already using Beeline and I want to update the router.

I tested a little more, found that the speed over WiFi (in the 5GHz band) is still lower than via USB:
Several USB measurements showed a speed of about 40 megabits down,
at the same time and in the same place via WiFi - about 20

In the settings for the WiFi frequency 5GHz, you can select:
- 802.11a / n - in this case, the band is 40 MHz and the maximum possible connection speed is 300 megabits
- or 802.11a - then the band is 20 and the maximum possible speed is 54
It seemed that these settings affect to a lesser extent than adjusting the signal strength, which adds a few megabits to the speed. But, even at the maximum above 25 did not see.

However, 20 is no small at all (and the cellular network will even give up 20 even in any place), and it’s not a fact that this is a limitation of the router, and not the features of radio propagation in my home, where any 2.4n router is more than 6 megabit does not issue :)

It has an SSH server running by default. The root password is standard for OpenEmbedded.
Getting the ports, and generally changing the songs here is easy - just change the values ​​in a pair of files.
NTP, SIP ALG, iptables with a full set of lotions work here out of the box. And here the interaction between the network interfaces within the system is completely different. Unlike, for example, ZTE devices, here the "modem" rmnet interface is independent, full-fledged, it is available in Linux with its IP address obtained from the operator. And the broadcast is carried out immediately in Linux (the default is a masquerade on rmnet). This gives much greater flexibility for translation / routing manipulations, which is especially convenient when using openvpn, for example.

I write this in absentia - I don’t have such a router. :) But, thanks tovitaly_dv, I have the contents of the FS of this piece of iron. I also have a L850 modem on the same hardware platform (without a Wi-Fi adapter, without an indicator and buttons, and without a battery, of course), which is practically indistinguishable from the Y850 in the “software part”. The differences, in the overwhelming majority, relate to the muzzle: in the L850 it is implemented on a typical Alcatel "engine" (if you can call it that), and in the Biline Y850 the same muzzle is used as in the Biline MF823.

The only setting in the web interface of the router that can increase the speed is switching WiFi in the 5Ghz range
For starters, you can connect a router via USB and seespeed:

- if not, then the network: weak signal / large load / range 800 instead of 2600 ...this videoa much more advanced router shows similar results in the 5th minute, being clamped in the commentator's hand :)

ATthis archive- "a set of young VPN users" for Alcatel * 850. It includes a tun.ko module for this kernel, an openvpn executable, a "binding" and a couple of simplest scripts to enable and disable the broadcast-switched tunnel.
The archive must be transferred to the root of the FS file and unpack it from there.
