In essence, it is a computer with a certain disk array connected to a network (usually local) and supporting work according to the protocols adopted in it. Several such computers can be combined into one system. Useful tips Post has been editedstp101 - 21.04.18, 15:36 Reason for editing: New header. Hat reworked Nik2001Nik3006 |

In short, he stressed for himself that the NAS is better if you need a RAID, in principle, everything! Posted on 07/16/2011, 10:56: but I then compare the router and us, that is, the price should be about the same !!! for such money, you can collect a full-fledged server as written above and even better (and the Internet will distribute and the file will be a garbage bin and the network will be promoted ..... and so on) Post has been editedBBSR_CS - 16.07.11, 10:52 |

What can NAS? Mine can download and distribute torrents, store files on a home network, play files through a media player, there are also ftp and mysql servers, but I don’t need them. By the way, Buffalo produces a router with NAS functions - Wireless-N - WZR-HP-G300NH. |

Yes, almost any router with a usb port can act as a NAS ... and if it cannot, then most likely there is a custom firmware with these functions ...))) -------------------- PSP Slim & Lite 2001 PS3 Slim 320GbCustom fw PS3 SuperSlim 500GbOfficial fw |

Well, I would not say. The same torrent can not be put on every router (if it succeeds at all). Again for DLNA, not everything will work. And Buffalo has it. |

Local [offline] Group: Friendssavagemessiahzine.com Messages 160 Check in: 02.01.11 Apple iPhone 5s Reputation: 2 | In general, the question is what: 1. I need a torrent with a web interface; 2. DLNA server (must mkv, etc., so as not to freeze too much with the formats. If there are still subtitles: thank_you :); 3. FTP server - I think this function is by default. But I will point out. 4. Must clone data. If I lose them .... they will make me ....: butcher: 5. No more. Maximum on 2 disks (duplicate entries with 1 screw: wacko :). Within $ 200 without screws. 1 Screw already on 3 TB. Thanks in advance for your help. |

Decent in the money, I'm afraid you can not buy. In the 30 ruble dollar could try. Clone data - should a raid collect or send it to the cloud? Or on the external copy by yusb? .. |

There is an Asus RT-N66U + NAS 3Q Mercury. I put the torrent link in "Downloads" on NAS, I press "Run" - it does not go! Already tried a dozen of three sites and links - zero to mass. If not difficult, tell me: what and where to configure on both devices to make it work. It is desirable - step by step and with explanations: I want not only to configure, but also to figure it out. Thank you in advance! : thank_you: Post has been editedtempera2ra - 03.01.15, 19:46 -------------------- For “in general,” “no,” “ed,” “lie down,” “apologize,” and “try” - shooting on the spot! Pepper. Sweet. [offline] Group: Banned Messages 3206 Check in: 09.12.11 Sony Xperia Z3 Dual Reputation: 161 | Yes, in the NAS NAS, everything is so hard chopped up that, as far as I understand, there is nothing special about the interface. There is a common - management, with separate tabs for what can be controlled. According to the instructions - I choose a torrent or a direct link to http and click "Start download". Nothing more: wallbash: This is how this whole trichodium looks like: Post has been editedtempera2ra - 15.01.15, 05:10 -------------------- For “in general,” “no,” “ed,” “lie down,” “apologize,” and “try” - shooting on the spot! Local [offline] Group: Friendssavagemessiahzine.com Messages 213 Check in: 10.05.14 Reputation: 3 | Good day to all. Please tell me what is the reason for slow access to folders on the network storage? For example, on any PC in the local network I will share a folder, from another PC over the network it flies instantly. But when the trouble is in the network storage, I connected the folder as a network drive and this is the very first access to the folder takes about 20 seconds, and then apparently it caches somehow and is normal. When you do not access the folder for about 20 minutes and then you contact it again, then a long time for a new one. What could be? Grateful to any help, thanks in advance. |

I have a NAS from WD and it has such settings when it falls asleep when there are no calls to it on the network and, accordingly, it takes a couple of seconds for it to wake up. -------------------- iPhone XR + iWatch 3 + iPod Nano 2G + MacBook Pro 2012 => I ♥ Mac OS Forum Rules |
