Important information

I decided to write a small description of those things that should not be done in order not to “mimic” the device.

So, you decided to flash your device for the first time:

1. Do not flash the device if the battery charge is less than 30%.
   
2. Do not pull the cable during the firmware process from the device. And in general, try not to touch it.
   
3. Do not format the device if Windows prompts you to do this.
   
4. Never touch the system files if you are not sure of your actions.
   
5. Do not try to install the firmware from another device, about which there are no reviews and instructions that say that this firmware is working on your device if you do not understand the issue of porting.
   
6. Carefully follow all instructions and instructions related to flashing the device.
   
7. You should not flash the device if you have even the slightest uncertainty in your abilities.

• Before proceeding with the firmware, think about what you need more - a normally working (though not perfect) device, or a perfect "brick" on the shelf.
  
• Be sure to make a backup before installing any modifications, fixes using CWM, if there are no reviews about them that they work on your device. You can make a backup as in the mostCWMrecovery, and in the programВ® Titanium Backup. However, if you are not sure about your actions, then Titanium Backup is not recommended for installation.

Drivers and Utilities

These instructions are applicable for Y320-U10 (Beeline Smart, Orange Tiga) and Y320-U30. For other modifications of the Huawei Y320, the instruction may differ.
Before starting any manipulations with the firmware (changing system files, installing custom recovery or modified kernel), be sure to backup your firmware using the MtkDroidTools or SP Flash Tool. This will allow you to avoid many problems in the future and, if necessary, restore everything as it was. It is also desirable to make a separate backup NVRAM - this will avoid problems and restore calibration and IMEI in the case of not entirely successful firmware.

Before starting work with the MtkDroidTools utility, we need to install the ADB drivers (Android Debugging Bridge)
This is done as follows:
1.To start connecting the device to a computer via USB. Among the devices that appear, we find the drive with the Mobile Partner disc (or Beeline Smart, depends on the firmware of the device) and copy the contents somewhere. This is a driver. If this did not work out (regardless of the reason), then download and unpackthisarchive.
2. Go to the phone settings and enable USB debugging. If you did not find the developer menu in the settings, then go to "Settings" ->"About phone" ->Click a few times (5-7) on the "Build Number". We need: SP Flash Tool, MtkDroidTools and installed drivers.

Item 1. Create a scatter.
Go to the settings of the smartphone in the menu item "security" and put a daw on "Unknown sources."
If you have not yet enabled USB debugging, then go to the smartphone settings in the menu item "About phone" and repeatedly tap on the Build number, as you will see the inscription "you become a developer", exit the menu and enter the new activated menu item "For developers, there put a checkbox on "USB debugging".
We connect the included phone to the computer. Install the driver (see above), if it is not already done.
Launch MtkDroidTools and wait for it to connect to the phone (see the bottom left corner of the program).
Press the "Block map" button, a window with a map will appear. In this window, click the button "Create a scatter file" and save the file (the name is better not to change). Sometimes MtkDroidTools creates an incorrect scatter (of the old type, it may not be suitable for firmware). Then takethis

Item 2. Reading the ROM from the phone.
2.1 Preparation
Run SP_Flash_Tool
Open the saved scatter (blocks with addresses will appear in the list)
Go to the Read back tab.
Add a block (Add button)
Double click to open the added block, specify the name of the file to save (starts with ROM_)
Further in the appeared window in the second field we enter into the address of the cache block from the scatter file (you can open it with notepad ++, for “Beeline Smart” it is 0x32B40000) and click OK.
Note:
1) If the scatter file is of the old type, then you will immediately find the correct cache block address without any problems by opening it with notepad ++
2) If the scatter file is of a new type, then in this case you need to drive in the cache block address marked linear_start_addr

2.2 Reading
Disconnect the phone from the computer, if still not done.
Turn off the phone
We take out and insert the battery back
In the program SP_Flash_Tool, press the Read back button
Connect the phone to the USB in the program should run first red, then blue progress bars. If you didn’t run, try disconnecting the phone, distorting the battery, and then connecting it to the computer again. Item 3. Preparing blocks for firmware
Again open MtkDroidTools and connect the included phone. Make sure that MtkDroidTools sees it.
Go to the root, backup, recovery tab
Click the button "Create backup from ROM_ flash" and select the previously saved file from the program SP_Flash_Tool.
The program will offer to automatically create a CWM, patch the boot - this is at your discretion (but if you want a clean backup, which is recommended, then we refuse to patch).
The backup will appear in the MtkDroidTools \ backups \ ... folder

Now you need to save the created backup, they can always return the phone to its original state. In addition to the folder with a bunch of files from MtkDroidTools, I also recommend saving the ROM_ file for reinsurance.
Important information on this manual.
1) Refusing to automatically create a CWM in the backup folder, it will be named factory_NONmodified_recovery.img and, accordingly, when you download the scatter file to the USB flash drive, it will not be picked up automatically and displayed, so for convenience it is recommended to rename it immediately to recovery.img
2) Since we cut our backup by cache block, then when you load the file scatter into the USB flash drive, you will not see the CACHE and USRDATA blocks (this is done so that you do not accidentally transfer your personal data along with the backup to the person who will bail out your backup).
But there is a nuance here, if the device is restored by backup without these blocks, then it may not boot further into the boot screen, in order for the boot to complete successfully you need to go into recovery and do wipe data / factory reset.
You can also completely read the memory - set the address BMTPOOL (usually 0xFFFF00A8). Then there will be a backup of all data along with the cache, data and the contents of the internal "memory card".

Firmware via SP Flash Tool (the same method can be used to install custom kernel and recovery)

1. Disconnect from the computer all unnecessary, smartphone, too.
2. Restart your computer to avoid errors due to the work of other programs.
3. Plug the cable directly into the computer, but do not plug it into the machine. Do not use extension cords, splitters, and the like.
4. Run the SP Flash Tool, point to * scatter.txt in the folder with the desired firmware. (You can use the backup created and prepared in MtkDroidTools. * It also creates scatter.txt)
Below you should see a list of sections, their addresses and paths to the corresponding firmware files.
5. Below, put a tick on those sections that will be stitched, with the rest - remove (for example, you can choose only recovery, only boot, or only the logo). If you wish, you can change the paths to the desired files. (For example, if you need to flash another boot, logo or recovery). Be sure to uncheck the "PRELOADER", otherwise you can get a brick. It is also not recommended to sew the section "UBOOT"
6. In the flash button, click the Download button.
7. Remove the battery from the smart
8. Plug the cable into smart.
9. Insert the battery.
After that, the firmware should go.

Do not try to format the device in the SP Flash Tool, it can lead to almost irreparable results !!! It is not necessary for normal firmware !!! As the mode of operation of the SP Flash Tool, you can use only the mode "Download only". The rest is only for professionals and very experienced users.

Restore the smartphone from the "brick" state (if it is caused by a software failure or unsuccessful firmware)

1. Need SP Flash Tool, firmware / full backup for it, driver.
2. Run the SP Flash Tool, go to Option ->Connection ->In the USB tab, we set w / o battery.
3. Open the file scatter, remove the checkmarks from all items except PRELOADER and click Download.
4. We take out the battery from the phone and connect it to the computer.
5. If the drivers are installed correctly, the firmware will start. We are waiting for the end of the process. If the firmware has not started, you need to press the power button or the volume button (for someone like, try).
6. Disconnect the phone from the computer.
7. In the SP Flash Tool, go to Option ->Connection ->in the USB tab return auto detect; We return the removed ticks to the sections of the firmware, and with PRELOADER we remove. Click Download.
8. Insert the battery into the phone and connect to the PC. We are waiting for the end.
9. If you do not turn on yourself, then disconnect the phone from the PC, distort the battery and turn it on. If it does not load, do wipe data / factory reset in recovery.

Installing recovery without using a computer.

1. Rename the * .img file of the recovery to recovery.img
2. Put the recovery.img in the root of the phone's memory card / memory (sdcard0, sdcard1)

Installing official updates in the form of update.zip

1. Put update.zip (rename if necessary) in the root of the memory card.
2. Go to "Settings" - "Memory" - "Software Update" (this item is at the bottom) - select "Update from SD-card"
After that, the device will reboot into the recovery and the installation will begin.
If you have stock recovery, then updates that are not signed by the manufacturer or with an incorrect signature will not be installed.
Some custom recovery may refuse to install official updates in this way. In this case, use the following instructions.

Installing unofficial firmware and updates (if there is a custom recovery)

1. Turn off the device.
2. Simultaneously press the buttons for increasing the volume and on and wait a little. The device will start to turn on.
3. In the menu that appears, select the "Recovery Mode" item (the topmost one, use the volume up button to switch between items, and use the volume down button to confirm the selection). Sometimes this menu does not appear and the smartphone is immediately loaded into the recovery.
4. In the recovery, use the volume buttons to switch between items, select "Install zip" - "Choose zip from sdcard". Item names may vary depending on the type of recovery you have.
5. Select your zip file with firmware, update, or some modification. This may not necessarily be update.zip in the root of the memory card, it can have any name (preferably only in Latin) and lie in any folder (it is advisable to avoid long paths and paths with spaces, better move the file closer to the root of the memory card).
