Terminology
  • Xiaomi tech - A Chinese company founded by Lei Jun in 2010. The symbol of Xiaomi is a hare with a hat with a red star and a red pioneer tie around his neck. The company's activity began with the development of Android firmware MIUI.
  • MIUI - user interface for smartphones based on the Android operating system with open source. The code for the MIUI firmware itself is closed. Developed by Xiaomi Tech. The firmware is a heavily modified user interface that lacks an application menu. The firmware combines the most successful solutions for Android and iOS. Custom firmware includes additional features not found in the standard Android OS, such as switches in the sliding notification panel, a new camera, gallery and player, and the dialer is changed, which displays contacts as the user enters the number.
  • "Stable", "Developer" and "Daily Beta Versions for Developers" - MIUI firmware - In general, these are different branches of firmware. In the "stable" there is no ROOT-rights, and only proven, working (according to the Chinese) functionality. Releases rarely happen as new functionality accumulates. There are ROOT rights in the “delooperskie”, all the most recent unverified innovations. Release every Orange Friday. In the "daily beta" firmware (they can only get people from the beta team), there are ROOT-rights and all the new functionality and all this stuff is tested for errors. Release - daily.
  • ROOT rights - This is an Administrator account, only for Android. An administrator can do anything, unlike a simple user - not an administrator. Root rights give full control over your system.
  • Backup - Saving all parameters and settings for the purpose of recovery in case of data loss.
  • ClockWorkMod - CWM - Modified Recovery menu with advanced features such as: installing various fixes, resetting the battery log, creating a Nandroid backup, cleaning the Dalvik-cache, etc.
  • TrueDualBoot - TDB - M1cha, CWM developer for our devices. He thought up how to “physically” (actually virtually) separate the two systems and make them almost completely independent (the modem, etc., still remained common).
  • Recovery - A system partition that contains tools for flashing, creating backups, restoring from backups, and more.
  • Nandroid backup - A full backup of the system with the ability to raise the phone from any state in case of failure in work.
  • Dalvik cache - Intermediate fast access buffer that carries the information most likely to be requested (in this case created by the Dalvik virtual machine). Simply put, Dalvik Cache is the result of optimization of the most frequently launched programs by the Dalvik virtual machine.
  • Adb - A tool that installs with the Android-SDK and allows you to control an Android OS device.
  • REBOOT - Reboot.
  • Full Wipe - Full reset settings. All installed applications, multimedia data, cache + dalwick cache are deleted and all system settings are reset.
    • wipe data / factory reset - reset to factory settings
    • format / cache - clear partition / cache
    • format / system - cleaning the partition / system
    • format / data - clearing the section / data
    • format / sdcard - clear partition / sdcard
    • wipe dalvik cache - formatting dalvik cache

  • Bootloop - This is when the OS boot, in our case AndroidOS, does not boot to the end, the bootlogo (boot image) is shown endlessly.
Cyclic reboot of the device, which occurs during the boot phase due to the inability to boot completely. (in translation, boot is boot, loop - loop, loop, etc.)
  • Force Close - FC - Forced closing (stopping) of an application by the system, in this case Android OS.
  • Busybox - is a set of console utilities for Linux systems. Essentially needed by programs that require root-rights for proper functioning.
  • Custom - modification, change (custom firmware, custom recovery).
  • Deodex - system files .apk along with a "load" file with the same name and the extension .odex. With their help, presumably you can save some space. Deodexing means that you convert this .odex to .dex (the same file stored inside .apk) and put it back into .apk. This allows us to freely replace system applications without worrying about cokexes, but the main cause of deodexing was to do such an operation with the services.jar file, thanks to which you can change the colors of all texts (for example, the color of the clock from white to black, etc.) , and to deodex services.jar, you need to deodex all system .apk-shki. The craftsmen removed the .ODEX files from the firmware, writing the information contained in them into the APK files, thereby reducing the size of the firmware and most importantly - now the APK files themselves can be changed as you like, this does not affect the system’s work in a fatal way. This is called deodexing.
This is good - in the deodexed firmware, you can easily open the APK file with the archiver, change the resources in it (pictures, etc.) and return the changed file to a place in the firmware.
  • BB - The usual stationary computer or laptop.
  • Zip - ZIP format; It usually distributes custom firmware or patches, applications, etc.

Mini FAQ
How to perform a transition between systems in stock recovery?
Determine which firmware in which section is simple, just boot into this system and check the version.
Press the "Power" and "+" button, get into Recovery, then, if you go to "Reboot ->Reboot to System One "is loading in 1 system, if" Reboot ->Reboot to System Two is the boot in system 2. Where it is added (latest) is the last system you have worked on, that is, the system from which you entered Recovery.

Have you downloaded the firmware and are you interested in decoding it?
miui_MI3WMI4W_6.5.27_3e68812a34_6.0.zip
  • miui- developer / localizer
  • MI3WMI4W- for which device
  • 6.5.27- the version and release date of the firmware - 6 year (2016), 5 month (May), 27 day (number 27)
  • 6.0- Android version
  • .zip- firmware for Recovery

  • 6.0- Android version
  • .tgz- firmware for computer

Do not push notifications, application messages?
Applications need to be added to autoload (security-permissions-autorun application) and put the display of notifications on the lock screen and on the panel in the notification panel settings (notification settings)

Memory leak
1. If you take developer firmware, there are successful releases and not so much, for that they are for developers.
2. Otherwise, you need to look for a problem in yourself, there is a software that monitors applications.
3. The batteries of our device, as well as animals with similar iron, should be enough for a day or two, the RAM can be freely accessed 300-900 mb. (on average, smaller deviations from the norm. - IMHO)
If you have more memory or live longer, this is good, but do not write about it in the subject, such messages in the firmware theme are regarded as a flood.

How to erase the firmware from vrotoro section?
With stock recovery, that is, without TDB, your 2x partitions have one system partition, which is why we recommend installing one firmware in both partitions for stock recovery in order to avoid problems. Erase firmware selectively from one section is not possible. Install CWM + TDB and install two different firmware, or overwrite partitions, etc.

"Stable", "Developer" and "Daily Beta versions for developers" - MIUI firmware
In general, these are different branches of firmware.
In the "stable" there is no ROOT-rights, and only proven, working (according to the Chinese) functionality. Releases rarely happen as new functionality accumulates.

How to distinguish Xiaomi Mi-3 W-CDMA from Xiaomi Mi-3 TD?

The two main differences between phones are the processor and the support of 3G networks in Russia:
- in the TD version, an NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor is installed and 3G is not supported
- the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 processor and 3G networks are supported in the W-CDMA version

You can find out the processor installed in the phone using the programCPU-Z, either in a terminal or an adb coman:
cat / proc / cpuinfo

Support for 3G networks can be found by going toSettings ->About phone ->General information ->Mobile network type (translation of menu items may vary)
the W-CDMA version is most likely to be HSPDA, and the TD version is EDGE. (on the W-CDMA version, it can also be EDGE if there is no base station in your area with 3G support).

You can also determine the phone model by recognizing its code name in the build.prop file.
- for TD version isPISCES
- for the W-CDMA version isCANCRO

The build.prop file is located in /system/build.prop. You can view information from it using a file manager likeSolid explorer, SameCPU-Z(SYSTEM tab), either through a terminal or ADB, with the command:
cat /system/build.prop

Is TD firmware suitable for W-CDMA and vice versa?

Not! The firmware of both models are not backward compatible. This also applies to recovery and fastboot firmware.

How do i do ... at MIUI? Where is ... in MIUI?

Information on this subject is written in the topic header.Purchase. If you do not find the answer to this question, you need to ask it in the same topic.

Where to get / How to install Google Play Store (Market)?

You can take here:Google playand install via file manager. You can also usespecial installer.

Can I connect Xiaomi MI3 in flash drive mode?

No you can not! This became impossible because in the new Android phones the sdcard is formatted in the ext4 file system, which Windows does not understand. If you are interested in details, read these posts. 1 , 2 .

How to get into the engineering menu?

In the dialer enter*#*#6484#*#* and also try *#*#4636#*#* .

How to exit the bootloop?

What about the proximity sensor? During the call, the screen does not go out, and after the conversation does not turn on.

This occurs if there is no original film pasted on the screen of the device (without cutouts for the sensors). Use original films and others intended for this device!

We move to the Chinese device section.

And immediately the question: when downloading via wi-fi, the device behaves normally, but as soon as the application in the market weighs more than 5mb, it refuses to do so. Is this a hardware problem or, nevertheless, firmware?

Rep: (538)
as soon as the application in the market weighs more than 5mb, he refuses to do it.

Perhaps because of the limitation. Go to download - menu - setting and set without restrictions.

Help with the main

Firmware and programI tried everything myself, try pressing the DOWN button and power when connected to charging, if you don’t work and a long charge also fails cover and try to charge by applying power to the contacts, but you need to think.
Not the fact that will help.
Read lichku more often and the rest of science can not be during the firmware to discharge the phone to zero. Well, in your case, perhaps a full charge for several tens of minutes will help, try to go into rekoveri and fastboot.

A very strange problem with mi3 wcdma, firmware from miui.su is put without problems, but when I try to install romz, the device catches a bootlap, why does this happen and how to win it?

Step by step firmware Xiaomi Mi3W, when he entered the bootlap. Such a problem came out after the firmware Xiaomi Mi3W firmware miuirussia_cancro_4.1.17 and 4.1.24 from the site romz.bz.
1. We connect to the power supply (to have time, enter the recovery), because after connecting it does not immediately go to reboot.
2. Use the POWER button to turn off the device. As soon as the screen goes out, simultaneously press the POWER and Volume (+) buttons.
3. We do all the wipes (there are three of them all data, user data, cache).
4. Then boot into reboot - reboot in system two.
5. We connect to the computer and download the necessary firmware (EG, miuisu_v4.3.0_cancro_4.1.17 and 4.1.24 from miui.su), after renaming it “update”.
6. Use the POWER button to turn off the device. We go in the recovery, at the same time press the buttons POWER and volume (+).
7. Then boot into reboot - reboot in system one.
8. Use the POWER button to turn off the device. As soon as the screen goes out, simultaneously press the POWER and Volume (+) buttons. THOSE. again we go into the recovery, but we already have a system one.
9. Install the firmware.

Came phone with multi firmware MIUI-JXDCNAL22.0
I want to change the firmware I go into the settings-about the phone-click to update and crashes out of the settings !!! what is the problem? How to make an update then?

Dear forum users, it is necessary to agree on the designation of versions of devices. It is better to take the designation that stands on the phones themselves. As TD-ny is indicated, I did not see, Xiaomi Mi3W (WCDMA) designate - MI3W, as in the phone.. And TD-ny just - MI3.And please, at the beginning of the post indicate what kind of device in question.
Otherwise we will advise each other of this .....

Mu1tick Yes! Describe in detail the process of firmware, step by step. Perhaps what was done wrong .... o.O
Especially in which section they sewed, as the archive was called, and so on.

Firmware with standard recovery
  • Install the driver (if you upload the firmware file from the PC)
  • You can download the firmware via WiFi and rename it toupdate.zip
  • We upload the firmware in the update.zip format to the root directory (//sdcard/update.zip), on Win7 the path looks like this: Mi-2, 3>Inner memory>In this section we put update.zip
  • Turn off the phone
  • Hold down the volume key + power button, as the screen blinks, release the power key, while continuing to hold down the volume up key.
  • We are waiting for download in recovery mode
  • Select English (navigation through the recovery - with the volume keys, the choice - with the "Enable" button).
  • It is advisable to make a full wipe (wipe all data - all applications, data, contacts, SMS, etc. will be erased)
  • Choose an item:install update.zip to system one

In the thread I supervise, I wrote a smallminiFAQ how to update the firmware MIUI on the smartphone MeizuMX2, I think someone will find this useful

CWM Recovery for Tegra 4 TD version:http://miui.su/recovery#mi3td

Reached only the hare and could not not turn off, do not restart.

So what mode fastboot launched ??? So cling the body to the computer, and sew it through MiFlash!
PS The firmware for MiFlash differs from the firmware for Recovery / Update. (the name will contain the word fastboot, and this will be the unpacking .exe archive itself)

Instructions for firmware via miFlash can be found in the header on the Mi2 firmware, in Mi3 everything is the same, except, of course, the firmware itself ....

Much respectedaltingmade a patch including ROOT on a stable version of WCDMA. Its application changes the name of the firmware and adds the file SU, after which you can enable and use the built-in root (security-permissions-rights ROOT).
Those interested can try out this patch and say thanks to the developer.
If someone does not work, check what kind of device you have.
there is also a patch for the TD version, but I can't check it.

Mi3 two systems - I want to understand and clarify myself ...
1.So we have two sections in the device
2.Proshivaem update.zip in the 1st section, we get the version, for example 4.3.7
3.We reboot into the Recovery menu, boot into the 2nd section - it is loading, the smartphone starts updating the system files ...
4. Boot, check version - 4.3.7!

I have a question: if we are flashing any version of MIUI in the 1st (or 2nd) section, then the version in another section will be the same?
My head is already boiling, I can’t understand why we need two system partitions, if you can’t flash two different versions, for example, stable in the 2nd, and developer in the first and reload between them as needed ...
Or am I misunderstanding or doing something?
Answer who knows or nose on the link where it can be read
