I tried through the Asus Firmware Restoration the ancient version of dd-wrt.v24-17990_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_RT-N12B1.trx (which is indicated in the instructions by the link in the header) and dd-wrt.v24-36698_NEWD-2_K2.6_openvpn_small.bin (of the latter type) - did not work, now returned to stock 3.0.0.4.380_2943-g7820149.
