Information for beginners, answers to frequently asked questions in the topic.

Welcome!

Dear forum users, we are pleased to welcome you to our topic on Custom firmware for LG Google Nexus 5.
We sincerely hope that looking into this topic, you will discover the necessary and useful information, decide on the choice of custom firmware and find answers to all your questions.

  3. Dear users, be so kind, with all the issues of power consumption and autonomy, please contact the topic header -Power consumption (autonomy) LG Nexus 5.
After all, the duration of the battery discharge is affected not so much by the firmware as by your installed applications and the kernel.
Calculate the application that spends the battery charge, put any custom kernel - ElementalX, Code Blue, and let the system "settle down" for at least 5 days, and then draw conclusions about autonomy.
I remind you that the autonomy of the firmware in this topic is not discussed.

  4. If you are uploading an update of any firmware, then please attach a list of changes to the new version, preferably in the original and a direct link to download the firmware.

  5. If you do not install the firmware, the recovery gives an error, then please provide more facts describing the error, take a screenshot orLogcatmistakes.

  6. I recommend that you first install the firmware, the gaps to it, boot to the desktop, and only then reboot into the recovery and install various mods, translations, etc. to avoid many errors and system crashes.

  7. Before upgrading from one version of the firmware to another, go to the recovery and make wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache, then install the firmware.
But firmware developers recommend installing the firmware clean, with all the wipes.

  8. If you go from one custom firmware to another, then you need to do all the wipes.

  9. Kernels from 4.4.4 to 5.0.2 / 5.1.1 / 6.0.0 and vice versa - will not work, for each version of the android goes its own kernel.

  10. To upgrade without losing data, you need to flash the firmware in a dirty way, without wipe / data.

  11. If you backup Titanium Backup on firmware 4.4.4 with Dalvik environment and decide to switch to custom 5.1.1 / 6.0.0 on ART, then you can not be afraid: all your applications will recover without problems, because at the moment 100 % of apps support ART.

  12. Themes for CM11 are not compatible with the new theme engine for CM12.

  13. Google apps / gaps / GAPPS / Google APPS are sewn into firmware onlyCataclysmandFakeNexus: you do not need to install them for these firmware.

  14. With a full wipe, all your data will be deleted, in no case do not clean the Internal Storage, that is, the internal memory of the smartphone, otherwise everything that is in it will be deleted.
Internal Storage in principle, wipe is not necessary when switching from any firmware.

  15. AICP on CAF is stitched through normal recovery, not for CAF.

  16. On firmware based on CyanogenMod, after installing the firmware, applications in Titanium Backup may not be restored, for this go to Settings - Applications - 3 points in the upper right corner - Installation location - Internal memory of the device.

  17. On - the - Go - Description, enable and configure function.

  18. After installing the stock firmware via fastboot, if you installed TWRP recovery, then go into it immediately.
If you do not do this, but simply load the system, the recovery will remain stock.

  19. The Chamber of Secrets.

  20. The ability to lock / unlock with a double tap on the screen or a gesture depends on the kernel, not on the firmware.
Install any custom kernel with this feature to get this functionality and program to configure the kernel.

  21. After replacing the screen on the Nexus 5 installation CAF firmware will be impossible. The device will not turn on. Incompatible drivers are not native screen.
Installing any kernel won't help either.

Check MD5 checksum on the possibility of a broken archive.

Install on PCAttached fileHashTab_v5.1.0.23_Setup.zip(887.57 KB)
and in the file properties of your firmware, the "Hash amount of files" will appear, there we look \ compare.

P.S. - not to compare by letter, copy MD5 to the "Hash comparison" line, automatically check.

Instructions for those who formatted the internal memory, and the phone does not load.

1) When entering the recovery, connect the lanyard.
2) It is necessary to check in the properties of the system that the drivers are determined (in recovery mode) correctly (there are no exclamation marks).
If everything is fine ... Suppose that you have adb on c: \ adb, then:
3) Run CMD
4) In the CMD type the following commands:
cd c: \ adb
adb push c: \ adb \ is the name of the file that is going to be copied (and which is respectively located in the c: \ adb folder) / sdcard /
5) In the recovery, we find the saved firmware and flash it.

Example
Suppose we have a Nexus5 folder in the root of the C drive, and we need to upload the file KK_KRT16M_DEODEX_1.5.zip
Run cmd
cd c: \ Nexus5

Hit Enter
adb push c: \ Nexus5 \ KK_KRT16M_DEODEX_1.5.zip / sdcard /

Hit Enter
After that, the transfer of the firmware to the device will begin.

At the same time in the Nexus5 folder should be files
adb.exe
AdbWinApi.dll
AdbWinUsbApi.dll
fastboot.exe
KK_KRT16M_DEODEX_1.5.zip

The second way if there is a custom recovery

1) Check that you have adb and fastboot drivers installed
2) It is necessary to check in the properties of the system that the drivers are determined (in recovery mode) correctly (there are no exclamation marks).
3) Check that you have unpacked adb and fastboot
4) Copy the downloaded firmware file to the folder with adb.
5) Run the cmd command line, and enter there cd C: \ path to the folder
Example
cd C: \ adb

6) We go into the recovery and do wipe as in the instructions for custom firmware.
7) In Recovery CWM (TWRP) on your phone, choose install zip → install zip from sideload (for CWM), avanced → ADB sideload (for TWRP)
8) In cmd, run the adb sideload command the name of the file to be flashed
Example:
adb sideload KK_KRT16M_DEODEX_1.5.zip

9) Repeat the same for gapps if needed

Third way with OTG cable

1) Download and copy the necessary firmware + gapps (if required) to a USB flash drive.
2) Boot into Recovery and connect the flash drive via OTG cable.
3) In recovery, select install zip → internal storage → usb-otg
4) Choose our firmware, and flash it.

Fourth way via fastboot

1) Check that you have adb and fastboot drivers installed
2) Be sure to check in the properties of the system that the drivers are determined (in fastboot mode) correctly (there are no exclamation marks).
3) Check that you have unpacked adb and fastboot
4) Copy the stock firmware file to the folder with adb.
Next, follow the instructions
Method number 1- simple automatic way.

1. Turn off the smartphone.
2. Put your smartphone in bootloader / fastboot mode by simultaneously holding the buttons: Volume down + Power button (Volume down + Power) and connect it to your computer.
3. Run the flash-all.bat file from the folder where the necessary software and firmware image are unpacked.
Attached Image

4. Wait for the firmware process to complete.
Attached Image

5. After the firmware, you need to do wipe data / factory reset in recovery, to do this in bootloader mode / fastboot, using the volume buttons, select Recovery Mode and confirm with the power button (Power). When the Android robot icon appears on the screen, press the Volume Up button. In the recovery menu, run the command "Wipe data / factory data reset".
6. Restart the smartphone.

Ps. When flashing, by launching flash-all.bat, all data will be deleted, but this can be avoided by opening the file flash-all.bat with notepad, removing the -w key in the last command, Save.

Method number 2 - manual step-by-step (file-based) method.

1. Turn off the smartphone.
2. Put your smartphone in bootloader / fastboot mode by simultaneously holding the buttons: Volume down + Power button (Volume down + Power) and connect it to your computer.
3. On the command line, execute the following commands in turn (for version 4.4.2 of KOT49H):
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-hammerhead-hhz11k.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-hammerhead-m8974a-1.0.25.0.23.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot -w update image-hammerhead-kot49h.zip

4. After the firmware, you need to do wipe data / factory reset in recovery, to do this in bootloader mode / fastboot, using the volume buttons, select the item Recovery Mode and confirm the selection with the Power button. When the Android robot icon appears on the screen, press the Volume Up button. In the recovery menu, run the command "Wipe data / factory data reset".

Ps. If you remove the -w switch in the last command, then during the firmware, the sections will not be fully reformatted, thus the user files will remain.

Pss. After installing the firmware, you may want to lock the bootloader back. This can be done, again, in bootloader / fastboot mode by running the command:
fastboot oem lock

The data will not be erased! Or, if you have root rights, you can block the bootloader directly from the system itself by installing the program on your smartphoneBoototlocker- application to lock / unlock the bootloader without rebooting and without losing data.
This method is taken fromthis postfrom uvEnton

BACKUP with ADB

1. Turn on debug mode in the developer mode settings on the phone

2. Connect the included phone to the computer

3. Run a command prompt.

4. At the command prompt, type:

adb backup -noapk -nosystem -all -f c: \ nexusbackup.ab

-noapk means that only application data will be saved, but not themselves
-nosystem means that only user application data will be saved.
-all means that all application data will be saved, in this case falling under the -nosystem flag
-f is responsible for specifying the address and the name of the backup, otherwise it will be saved to the directory from which adb is started under the default name

5. A message about the backup will appear on the phone screen, be sure to enter the password and confirm the desire to save the backup.

RECOVERY

1. After the firmware, restore the previously installed applications via Google Play

2. Connect the included phone to the computer

3. Run a command prompt.

4. At the command prompt, type:

adb restore c: \ nexusbackup.ab

PS: c: \ nexusbackup.ab in this case - the path to the backup file, that is, if you have it in the Nexus5 folder on drive D, then the path will be d: /Nexus5/nexusbackup.ad

5. A message about recovery will appear on the phone screen, enter the password, agree to restore

6. Restart the phone

7. ??????

8. PROFIT

How to do Wipe before custom firmware using the example of TWRP

1. Reboot to recovery.
2.1 Recommended way: in the Wipe menu - the bottom slider Swype to Facory Reset.
2.2 A less recommended way, similar to 2.1 with additional cleaning of the system partition: in the Wipe menu - click on Advanced Wipe, there select Dalvik Cache, System, Data, Cache. Do not choose Internal Storage. Then the bottom Swype to Wipe slider.
3. Install the firmware and GApps (if necessary).
4. System reboot.
5. (optional) Optionally, with pens, we clean the memory (sdcard) from the traces of old programs.

Attention: method 2.2 is recommended by some rumodels for their firmware, do not use it by default.

Cons of this method:
- after using wipe 2.2 you can not boot the system, you must immediately install a new firmware (make sure that it is in the phone’s memory).
- in TWRP there is a problem, after method 2.2 some firmware cannot mount the system partition, if this happens, go back to the recovery (Power + VolumeUp), clean up again on 2.2 and then go to the Mount menu and remove and check again (or just remove) on System, then sew the firmware.

In the case of installing a new kernel

1. Pre-delete the data of all the kernel tweakers and the tweakers themselves.
2. Reboot into recovery.
3. (optional) Install the stock kernel (or reinstall the existing firmware), load the system and reboot into recovery again
4. Install the kernel and do wipe for cache and dalvik cache.

Quick installation of everything :)

1. Reboot to recovery.
2. In the Wipe menu - the bottom slider Swype to Facory Reset.
3. Install - select the firmware.
4. Add Zip - select GApps.
5. Add Zip - choose Dalvik patch
6. Add Zip - choose a kernel
7. We are stitching
8. Clean Cache and Dalvik cache.
9. System reboot.

I want to make a small review on the Paranoid SaberDroid firmware (based on BETA 3).Kernel: ElementalX 0.26 with gboost disabled. Since this is my second, after the Cataclysm, firmware, I ask you not to judge strictly. At the official PA, I sat for no more than two hours, so I apologize for some inaccuracies.
After the firmware and the first launch, there is no feeling at all that you are on a modified Paranoid. Even in the item "About phone" there is nothing that could indicate that this is not an official Paranoid. But immediately after entering the settings, I noticed a new item "Additional Settings". There to be the main part of different chips and firmware settings, which are not present in a simple Paranoid. I want to tell, first of all, about those features and opportunities that I personally liked and enjoyed. By default, the phone has a function that turns on the screen after you pull the phone out of your pocket. In this case, the screen turns off immediately after you put the phone back. I don’t know if there is such a function in other ROMs, but for those who often look at time, and especially in gloves, is a very useful function. Immediately, I turned on blur or "translucency effect" on the lock screen. But, as you know, this is also in the standard firmware of RA. The difference is that in SaberDroid you can adjust the power of the blur by the slider, which can also be very useful. It is impossible not to recall the main advantage of the firmware - notifications on the lock screen, which are very comfortable to use to view notifications from the bar status, in order not to make unnecessary movements with your finger. The notification icon is shown a little on the right side of the screen, and by swiping from it to the left side of the screen you can view the notification in full, then hide it or leave it in the status bar. By the way, you can see screenshots of useful features and some more information under the spoiler below.
We continue. In the item "Screen" added LED notification settings that allow you to adjust the color of the indicator when notifying any application, be it VK, Youtube or something else, and CRT animation settings. In the "Sound" settings, you can adjust the strength of the vibration with the slider and turn on the Connectivity Alert (I don’t know what the chip is). A few more features are in the "Special Features" menu. The remaining settings are in Additional Settings. It is worth paying attention to the possibility of reducing navibar until it disappears, including the display of Internet traffic in the status bar, the addition of the Search button and others in Navibar, as well as the ability to change their places. We are also all aware that you can turn on Google search by swiping up from Navibar. Now you can assign the inclusion of other programs, the icons of which will be located on the sides of the Google search button. Advanced custom animations have appeared. You can put any of 15 animations on any action separately: exit from the program, open the program, etc. You can turn on the tablet version of the settings, but with a standard DPI it will not look very good. Separately, I want to say about ListView Animation, which allows you to change the animation of the appearance of objects in different menus and programs when scrolling. On screenshots, you can see two animations: one of these objects "pushes" from the right side of the screen, and the other just displays them smoothly. Any other settings that I haven’t talked about can be seen on screenshots. Otherwise, this is the same, native PA.
Now about the sad. When you turn on DashClock and blues on the screen locks, ListView Animation and everything else that is enabled by default, I was not pleased with the autonomy. Under the same loads on the Cataclysm, along with ElemenatalH 0.26, the screen operation exceeded 6 hours, and here - 4.5 hours. But I turned off DashClock, because I turned it on just so that the lock screen was not so empty. I really liked the firmware, so I will do everything to ensure that its autonomy is at its best. Thanks to all. Sorry for illiteracy.

My review about SlimKat firmware version 5.10
Preface.
I decided to write a small review about the SlimKat firmware.
I used this firmware for about two months before, now I decided to reinstall it and update my review.
I would like to dwell on the pros and cons of the firmware.
Pros:
What I like about the SlimKat firmware is that the Slim top-level team maintains its firmware, every week they release builds with various bug fixes.
Many of the "buns" are developed by the Slim team, and not borrowed, as in the Mahdi or Carboniferous.
The firmware is very stable, I have not found a single bug for all the time I use weekly assemblies. In addition, its autonomy is above all praise.
Slimovskoe core perfectly keeps the battery charge, thus, it does not make sense to install other cores, for me personally.
In Slim there is no so-called "vinaigrette" of settings collected from all possible firmware, there is only the most necessary and nothing superfluous, thanks to this, the developers have eliminated the likelihood of any errors.
All the settings have been translated, the firmware is completely Russified
Minuses:
With the initial installation, the fine resolution is dpi - 370, right there I climbed into build.prop to change it to 460.
I do not understand why developers by default use such a low dpi - 370 - nothing is visible.
There is no possibility of choosing topics - this saddens me the most, I am not happy with the standard Slim interface.
Now, if there was an opportunity to put themes from CM, then there would be no price for this firmware.
No notifications on the lock screen, notifications Hover, Peek, transparent lock screen.
I do not consider the possibility of installing third-party programs, since I believe that in the firmware everything I need should be the default.
There is no possibility to change the color of the receiving signal, there is no possibility to change the nav. Keys, placing them away from each other.
Extended photo of the caller.
Screenshots of the firmware:

Comments on the firmware:
In general, the firmware will appeal to people for whom stability is important, autonomy, which does not need many modern chips, because there are no arbitrary reboots in Slim, the firmware works smartly and without bugs. We get a fairly stable firmware with good functionality. And all this is due to the fact that there are no heaps of settings in it, but it looks too naked, and can quickly get bored with its appearance. But you always know that SlimKat will never let you down.

My verdict is 6/10.

Thank you all for your time. :)

F.A.Q for SlimKat firmware.
Or a list of frequently asked questions and answers to them.

Before starting all the manipulations with the firmware, make a backup.

The block of questions and answers from 1 to 10.
Question:- I can not understand where to download the firmware, please give a link.

Answer:- Weekly builds you candownload here.
Stable, which go out once a month, you candownload here.

Question: - And where to download the gaps?

Answer: - Google Apps You Candownload here.
I recommend putting only gaps for slim, and not from PA.

Question: - It does not work to "get" the root of the right, all applications that need root rights take off with an error.

Answer: - Everything is correct, and it should be, because the root rights in the firmware are initially disabled.
To enable them, go to settings - For developers, Root access, choose - Applications and ADB.
Next, go to the settings menu, go to - Advanced settings - Superuser, click on 3 points in the upper right corner, settings - Superuser Access - Applications and ADB.
Automatic mode - Allow.
Reboot.

Question: - Installed the firmware, and everything is so small, is it possible to make a standard DPI?

Answer: - Yes, you can, there are two ways: - with pens or through a program.

The first: - Any file manager, for exampleRoot explorer, go along the way/ system, find the file in this folderbuild.prop, long tap on it, in the parameters click on -Open in text editor, scroll a little lower, find the line -ro.sf.lcd_density =370.
These are the 370 we need to change, change to 445, or 480 - this value is used in the stock firmware.
Second: - Through the programTexdroider DPI.
After changing the numbers, reboot.
In the firmware itself there is no such function.
The developers said that they do this DPI on purpose, it’s more convenient for them.

Question: - Is there an advanced reboot menu from the desktop in recovery or bootloader?

Answer: - Yes there is. Go to settings - Security - Extended reboot - Always show.

Question: - How to hide the navigation buttons and instead put the SlimPie?

Answer: - You must first disable nav. keys.
Go to settings - Navigation - Navigation bar, uncheck the checkbox - Enable navigation bar.
Immediately you will be given a request to enable SlimPie, agree.
Go to the previous menu - SlimPie - Switching options, check the box - Enable at the bottom border.
Now we need to tie the Pie to this lower bound.
Go to the previous menu - Style and size - Show anchor points, and at this point you attach the SlimPie instead of the navi key.
Then anchor points can be disabled.
It will be as in the screenshot below.
Screenshot
Attached Image

Question:- In the firmware there is no camera with hdr +, how to install?

Answer:- Enough to downloadthis google camera archiveAnd install through the recovery, after making a wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache, this camera will completely replace the standard + you need a google account in order for hdr + to appear.

Question: - I did not find the item selection option in the firmware, can I install themes from CM?

Answer: - No, you cannot install themes on this firmware.

Question: - Which is better to use the core, the stock Slimy or ElementalX, etc.

Answer: - A rhetorical question. For example, the Slim core holds the battery charge perfectly.
Try installing another kernel yourself and see the difference.

Question: - Is it necessary to install the Dalvik & Bionic patch on this firmware?

Answer: - No, this is not necessary.
The block of questions and answers from 11 to 20.
Question: - What is the best way to upgrade from one version to another?

Answer: - It is enough to make only wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache in recovery, then install the firmware.

Question: - When upgrading from one firmware version to another, all of my applications, widgets, settings, programs will be deleted?

Answer: - No, everything will remain untouched.

Question: - How can I backup all my applications?

Answer: - Through the program -Titanium Backup.

Question: - In the settings I put the ART environment, I reboot and I see dalwick again, is this a slim bug?

Answer: - No, ART is not compatible with the xposed application.

Question: - Is there a white interface in the firmware?

Answer: - No, everything is in black.

Question: - I can not upgrade to OTA, firmware bug?

Answer: - OTA updates are not available for weekly builds.

Question: - There are pharyngates on the clock widget of the lock screen. How to switch to Celsius?

Answer: - In the settings of the DashClock widget.
Long tap on the desktop and see it there.

Question: - Where can I see screenshots of the firmware?

Answer: - There is no such possibility. Slim has its own list of recent applications that can be closed by pinching.
Change in any way.

Question: - Is it possible to disable signatures in the curtain at the switches?

Answer: - Can,like this.

Question: - How much is the battery charge?

Answer: - The battery charge keeps the average use of the day, if you use a smartphone as a call and watch, then I have enough battery for 3 days.
Well, if you watch movies, listen to music, surf the Internet, etc., then not enough for half a day.

Question: - How to put native Slim wallpapers?

Answer: - Install from Google Playthis application.

Answer: - Not.
The block of questions and answers from 31 to 41.
Question: - The charge indicator starts to turn green with 90%, should it be so?

Answer: - Yes, no change.

Question: - Is it possible to set the network mode in the firmware?

Answer: - Yes there is.

Question: - How to add widgets to the lock screen?

Answer: - First you need to enable them in the settings - security - Widgets.

Question: - How often do weekly assemblies come out and on which day?

Answer: - Every week in the morning on Mondays.

Question: - How to add a screenshots option in the shutdown menu?

Answer: - Settings - navigation - power management menu - at the top click on + - screen shot.

Question: - How to disable the screen lock?

F.A.Q on the Multirom Program

Or a list of frequently asked questions and answers to them.

What is Multirom?
Multirom-This set of tools that allow you to run on a single device a large number of firmware, the number of firmware is limited only by the total memory of the device.
Multiromis a customCustomer, a specially modified Twrp - recovery, patch to the kernel, and a special preloading interface.

How to use Multirom
So, you want to install additional firmware on your device (or devices), or even Ubuntu touch. DownloadedThe program, installed it, and then do not know what to do? Then this FAQ is for you!;)
First of all we are greeted by the main menu of the application.
Main menu of the application
Attached Image

Where
  1. The status bar in which it displays whether we have the preloading interface installed (hereinafterMultirom)
  2. same as in the first case, is it only established whether we have a special recovery (hereinafterMultiTwrp)
  3. Do we have a patch installed on the core
  4. The button starts the installation of all that we need to install multiple firmware
  5. Reboot menu button
  6. Button go to settings
  7. Program navigation menu

As you can see in the picture above, nothing is currently set for us, so what should be corrected, feel free to press the buttonInstalland we expect the program to download and install the packages it needs.

During the installation, the program will ask you to reboot into the recovery to complete the installation, feel free to clickReboot

After reboot
After the reboot, you will see Multirom itself, this is the same pre-boot screen that is the interface for selecting the firmware
Attached Image

let's go through the Multirom interface for a bit
  1. This is the main menu where we choose which firmware to download.
  2. Boot menu with usb-otg
    Attached Image
I think everything is clear here
  3. Multirom setup menu
    Attached Image
    Attached Image
    Attached Image
In this menu, you can change the settings Multirom as well as its color for such
  4. Upload button

With the interface, we met and you can boot into the system by clickingBoot

In system
After loading the system again runMultirommanager
Attached Image

Now the main menu of the program has changed, it also offers us to install ubuntu touch
If you do not want to install ubuntu touch but you just want to install the second firmware, then just continue reading this section, but if you are the one who also wants ubuntu touch on your phone
That you here
Installing ubuntu touch is not a big deal, but I’m calculating that Faq will be used not only for nexus 5a and for other nexus devices that also support Ubuntu touch.
You need to make a choice (if it is of course available) betweensaucy and trusty UT branches
  • Saucy - This is the most stable branch of Ut suitable for everyday use.
  • Trusty - This is a version for developers that is not very stable but has all the latest developments and changes.
After selecting a branch, select the version of the update and clickInstall

If you still wantjust install the second firmware then download the .zip archive of the firmware and copy it into the memory of your device and reboot into MultiTwrp

MultiTwrp
Having loaded into MultiTwrp you will see that it is no different from standard Twrp.
Attached Image

but the devil is in the details
To install additional firmware you need
  1. The .zip file of the firmware itself
  2. Enter the menuAdvanced
    Attached Image
  3. in section Advanced select section Multirom
    Attached Image
  4. Choose a section Add rom
    Attached Image
  5. Make sure you install exactly Android and decide to share the core between the firmware or not
    Attached Image
  6. Choose installation method
    Attached Image
  7. Installation will begin
    Attached Image

  8. After installation, reboot the device

Reboot after installation
After installation in the boot menu you will find the new firmware
New firmware
Attached Image

But when you try to download this firmware, you will see this error
Mistake
Attached Image

This error means that your kernel does not contain a patch for downloading additional firmware.
Attention! At the moment, the best firmware for using Multirommanager is CyanogenMod11 and firmware based on Stoke or Stoke itself. Because the patch to the core is not from the CM or the Stock core, it calls the kernel bootlap and therefore prevents the firmware from loading. Therefore, you Recommended use the above firmware, or after each download to the second firmware, reinstall the kernel of the original firmware.

Gapps firmware, kernels and other modifications for the second firmware
To flash Gapps, Kernel or any other modification you need for firmware
  • Boot into recovery
  • Go to sectionAdvanced
  • In sectionMultirom choose List roms
    Attached Image

  • Choose your firmware (in my case it is Paranoid_Android)
    Attached Image

  • Choose a sectionFlash zip
    Attached Image

    1. Section to install .zip files
    2. Section to make all wipes
    3. Section to remove the firmware
    4. Backup section
    5. Change the name of the firmware

Uninstall Multirom
Attached Image

ChooseUnistall multirom the program reboots the device in recovery and removes all additional firmware without affecting the main one, Multitwrp is not deleted.

Suggestions or additions
Any suggestions for this Faq or add-ons send me inMe in QMS

as I have promised

My review of the firmware Mahdi 2.7 from 21.06.
Screenshots of the firmware.
Preface:
I have been using this firmware for one month, for all this time I have a strong opinion that I would like to share with you. I will highlight the pros and cons of the firmware. In what I will compare with the SlimKat firmware.
Pros:
The main advantage is frequent firmware updates, roughly once every 2 weeks, developers add new features ... and remove useful ones.
What I immediately liked was the OmniSwitch chip, how convenient it is to get access to my applications with a swipe left (or right, as it is more convenient, you can configure.) I’ll remind you that I turned off the lower dock bar in the lancher for an extended desktop.
Attached Image
Attached Image

It seemed to me that the Mahdi was a bit more slim, but I could be wrong, because I set up the animation, by the way by animation - you can customize it as you like - CRT animation, pop-up notification animation, section opening, closing, transition animation, etc., setting up lists animation , scrolling, keyboard, progress indicator - anything your heart desires.
Attached Image
Attached Image

By the way, by the settings - the interface customization settings are all in a separate item, and not scattered around the general settings menu.
Thanks to the user -Pixelase, we received fully translated firmware settings, to say thanks to him - to say nothing, tremendous respect and respect)
Further, according to the settings, which disappointed me in Slim, is the absence of the possibility of installing themes from CM, only for this reason I switched to Mahdi. And on the Mahdi themes can be set, and the interface customization settings will be more.
There is a Kernel - Tweaker - kernel customizer.

I also liked such a trifle in the notification panel - the picture changes, depending on the time of day, the sun in the afternoon, and in the evening the moon, trifle, but it's nice, by the way, in extreme versions this feature was removed.
Attached Image

Recent applications - to choose from, you can put out of slim, with the ability to close applications with a “pinchâ€, or standard ones, but a little modified, I stopped at the second version.
Attached Image

Also in this firmware there are many other settings, which are not in slim, pleasant to the eye - an indicator of network activity, transmission speed, notifications on the lock screen - this is what I liked most, a transparent lock screen and much, much more.
Minuses:
I would not say that the firmware is not stable, it happens rarely, but glitches aptly “pop up†- screen friezes, the active systemui process - which mercilessly eats battery power. And other minor glitches that you yourself will reveal during the use of the firmware.
Comments on the firmware:
Based on all these disadvantages, I would not say that the firmware is so bad - not at all, but it lacks the stability and autonomy of SlimKat, but slim does not have enough Mahdi chips. Mahdi is quite suitable for everyday use, what I like is a lot of customization / personalization settings of the interface.
My verdict is 7/10.

Thank you all for your time. :)

My impressions of the firmware Carbon from 23.06.

Some screenshots used the ReBorn Blue theme.

I installed the Carbon firmware, I decided to share my impressions with you, dear users, I will compare this firmware with the popular Mahdi.

Pros that I liked.
First, after installing the firmware, I liked the carbon animation animation, Hover notifications, a transparent lock screen, and much more, I will try to describe everything below.
By the way - carbon is completely in Russian, bourgeois rarely where it pops up.
Let's walk through the firmware settings, I think they are most interested.
So, the firmware and customization functionality. What is remarkable settings are made in the style of AOKP.
Here are the general settings.

Head over to Carbon Fibers.

Here we will not see the regime "on the go"

Cons that did not like.
Constantly, it is not clear what, the RAM is clogged, it is free less than one gigabyte. Gluttonous firmware - at least some core do not put, with active use, you will not have enough battery power even for half a day.

To summarize - in general, the firmware has pleased - for fans of Slim and Mahdi - I advise you to install, there are some practical small settings that are not in these popular firmware.
My verdict is 6 points out of 10. For the sake of experiment and indulge it is worth installing this firmware, unfortunately for everyday use it is not suitable, of course, if you do not use the nexus as a desktop clock, then the battery will last for three days.

For firmware via TWRP | CWM

Multirom and TWRP Recovery 3.0.3.0

I will remind the team
fastboot flash recovery twrp3.0.2-0.img
or
fastboot flash recovery twrp3.0.2-0_caf.img

If the firmware could not get into the recovery and the system started loading, then without panic, you should not wait for the end and try again. Just hold down the volume "-" and power, get into the bootloader, from here already to the recovery a couple of clicks.

If there is a new version of the recovery in the form of an image and there is no zip archive yet, and the computer is far away, then the image downloaded fromoffsiterename asrecovery.imgand throw in an empty archiveAttached filetwrp.zip(125.96 KB)
and flash.
Why am I writing this? On our website, and on XDA, people wait for hours when they will share with them the zip archive for the firmware from the recovery.
Well, as always, classics - Everything that you do, you do at your own peril and risk.
