TP-Link TL-MR3020 - Discussion

The MR-3020 is a small portable router powered by miniUSB 5V. In practice, 3.3V is enough for the operation of the built-in iron. Naturally, the USB port will also have a low voltage.
In fact, this is not a router. This is a cool ready-made hardware for developing application solutions.
Currently there are two modifications of version 1 (v1.x) and version 3 (v3.x)
If you ask a question about the firmware, specify the name of the firmware and the version number.
Almost all alternative firmware are based on OpenWRT, but there are also Padavan ported linaro firmware for TP-Link on MT7628 (v3) chips.

I ask for help I have this router. The essence of the problem is that I flashed it with CyberWrt-v1.4 firmware. But I would like to return to the original \ factory firmware. After reading the forums, I realized that this can be done only through the USB-to-Serial adapter.

If the WRT firmware is alive, but you need to restore the original from TP-LINK, then you can do with the tools of the WRT itself. Open the router, unsolder the COM-port and do not need to connect via it.

Need to:
1. Connect to the router via SSH as root (you can use Wi Fi):

IP-address - the address of your router. It is better to do this with the help of a file manager that supports SSH. I connected with the terminal program Midnight Commander from Linux; on Windows, Total Commander should have a corresponding plugin;

2. Download the native firmware in the / tmp folder. I downloaded the latest RussianTL-MR3020_V1_130507_RUoffsite The file can be renamed for a shorter, so as not to rewrite its name;
3. Send a command

sysupgrade -n /tmp/TL-MR3020_V1_130507_RU.bin

(if renamed, specify your file name * .bin). If the file manager does not support the command line, after copying the firmware to the router, you need to connect to it with a terminal with SSH support and send a command from there.

The router will flash, reboot and become visible at 192.168.0.254. Do not forget to return the network card of your computer to automatically obtain an IP address (to work with WRT, it is often necessary to manually register it).
