Just wind up the mouse in the lower right (or upper corner), further parameters, shutdown, press the "Reboot" button, hold down Shift (left), then the blue menu will open and then all the previously written instructions:

Previously, such files had the SMD extension (and not wp8 and csc), the flasher header also hints at this. Until the end of August, I will not be able to see the firmware, I now only have a tablet with me. Therefore, I will describe how it was with Omnia, I do not think that the format has changed.

There are many checksums in SMD.
The first one in the title is checked by the flasher. I managed to patch it so that he always considered it correct. (Unfortunately, I could not understand how it is considered. This is MD5, but it is not clear for which piece of the file. Although it is clearly clear that it should cover the entire contents of the file).
The file contains several sections. For ATIV S there are 15 of them.

For each section there is also an MD5 amount, most likely it is also checked by the flasher. But, it seems, it was even sewn with the wrong one.
Plus, for each section there are two more identical groups of SHA-160 sums. The section is divided into sections of 10 MB (some 1 MB each), the latter, incomplete, is supplemented with zeros (or maybe in units, I don’t remember exactly) to full. For each site is considered SHA-160.
Both groups are signed by electronic signature (RSA 1024 like), but different. One group is engineering, the other is retail.
When the phone connects to the flasher, it tells which of these groups to send to it. Before sending a section to the phone, these SHA-160 are loaded. The phone checks the signature and starts receiving data from the partition itself, checking SHA-160 for every 10 MB of data.

Change something inside the section and this section has SHA-160. The phone will recognize it as broken. If you replace SHA-160 in the right group, then the group signature will become invalid. Again, this is not a phone call.
Only one way out - patch the bootloader, as I did with the flasher. But it is not clear how to sew it later in the phone.
