I want to share the experience of restoring TP-Link TL-WR740N v4 after unsuccessful flashing DD-WRT v3.0-r40048 std (06/16/19) After reviewing the topic, I opened a couple of tabs with instructions, but I had to collect my own from a pile of other instructions.
Long sat on the DDWRT, killed him trying to update.
Got a dead router that blinks with all the lights.
What you need to do:
1) We connect the router to the PC via any lan (not blue), and configure the network as in the screenshots.
We put wireshark on wiretapping of that port into which the router was inserted.
About wireshark
How to listen to the program ports can google separately. The main thing is to install all its components when installing the program, because it will not start without them. Start - select immediately after completion of the scan the port into which the router is inserted.
Turn on the router with the reset button held down until the lock appears, release and see what wireshark writes us. We are looking for, at what address the router is and what file is looking for)
The logs show that the router is listening to 192.168.0.66 (192.168.0.86 can also be listened to by other routers, but most likely the first option. Do not miss if you own an English or translator), and is looking for a surprising file wr741ndv4_tp_recovery (in other instructions it is different ).
Turn off the router and go further.
I could not restore the router until I disabled version 6 / ipv6 ip (see page 2 for a screenshot).2) Download Tftpd32 and launch it for recovery as administrator and do it as in the screenshots (click on our firmware and click cancel, as it should).
I attach the archive with the program and firmware WR740N v4 (drain) without boot which I found on the forum.
1.rar(3.85 MB)
The file with the firmware, respectively, is signed with the name that was found out in paragraph 1 (in the wireshark logs, look for something similar to my name)
3) We perform everything as on the screen, then press the reset button on the router and turn it on until the lock appears.
We look at the wireshark logs (if they are not there, something is wrong), the Tftpd32 program itself did not give me any firmware download bars.
If you see the picture as in this screenshot, then the router is flashed and restarted. We are waiting for 5 minutes. Roll back the PC network settings to the drain and close the program.
Ip address to access the standard web interfacehttp://192.168.0.1/
We go in and sew everything your heart desires, even though the stock version of the firmware is ru.
Borrowed a couple of screenshots from uv. Steelk.
