In addition, Nvidia announces the introduction of Computational Photography Architecture - an innovative architecture that can significantly accelerate the process of HDR photography. Such images are processed by the new chip in just 0.2 seconds, whereas in the most advanced smartphones, like the iPhone 5, it takes about 2 seconds.

Unfortunately, the new chip again lacks a built-in LTE modem, which will force manufacturers of smartphones and tablets to install an additional module, and this, in turn, will entail increased power consumption. The company did not tell about the clock frequency of its new product.
In addition, the first device that runs on Tegra 4 was announced. It was suddenly the project's own portable gaming console, Project Shield.

The device looks very much like a DualShock 3 joystick to the PlayStation 3 with a display attached to it (5 inches, 1280 x 720 pixels). Thanks to the new processor, 4K content can be transferred from the device to the TV using HDMI. It also has a powerful audio processor and a 33-watt battery, which allows the device to work up to 10 hours in gaming mode or up to 24 hours in HD video playback mode.

The device works on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and can use games from the Play Store, as well as the online store Tegra Zone. Taking into account the start of deliveries, the output of devices on the novelties can be expected closer to the fall, and older models - closer to the next winter.

The older Snapdragon S4 models will have up to four Krait 400 cores up to 2.3 GHz, an upgraded Hexagon V5 signal processor and a new Adreno 330 graphics subsystem, which is twice as powerful as the Adreno 320 subsystem. 12.8 GB / s The new SoC will allow you to record and play video with 4K quality at 30 frames per second. Both SoC series have an LTE modem built into the processor case (the modem chip is placed on the same substrate as the SoC chip), which distinguishes Qualcomm processors from two-component competitor sets (for example, from the NVIDIA Tegra 4 set).
