I present a collection of maps of cities and regions of Russia, compiled by Novikov Semen.

Description

Maps are released in the form of java-midlets capable of running on devices that support the java MIDP 2.0 specification. With their help, you can view the map in real time, zooming in, moving around the map, using the search for objects, such as street names, by the initial letters of the name. It is also possible to select certain types of objects from the list.

Here are two types of maps: maps of cities and maps of regions. City maps include streets with names and a number of other objects (squares, parks, train stations, railway tracks, etc.). Area maps include major roads and a complete list of cities and villages of the region, as well as the largest rivers. You can select the largest cities (regional centers) from the list.

User's manual

The work of the card may differ for different types of cards, so you can find a more accurate list of features and control buttons directly in the program by selecting the help menu item.

However, basic features such as navigation, search, etc. will be the same for all applications. Here you will find a brief description.

Navigating the map is done with the buttons 2, 4, 6, 8 (up, left, right, all) or with specialized buttons, for example, using the joystick. Map scaling is done with buttons 1 and 3 (1 is decrease, 3 is increase). When you press button 5, you will be taken to the search window, where you can find the desired object by the first letters of the name. Pressing button 7 you will see a list of objects, for example, a list of regional centers for a map of a region or a list of stations and other objects for a map of a city. Button 9 turns on or off the display of names for objects such as squares, squares, metro stations, etc.

Using the button 0, the map is reset, it returns to the initial state. This removes the selection of the selected street when searching.

There is no binding to the GPS?

kochrob ,
no Unfortunately. This is not surprising, given that the average size of one midlet with a map is ~ 40 Kb. It is even incomprehensible how so much information about a geographical object fits into this tiny volume.
If there was an opportunity to work in conjunction with GPS, then I would create a topic in the "Navigation" section.
