How to flash on the correct version of iOS?

Attached Image

Roll back firmware(Downgrade iOS) - install the old version of iOS, which is officially no longer relevant on the Apple server and does not subscribeSHSH certificate. Officially, you can only flash on the latest, current firmware.
SHSH certificate(SHSH blobs) - digital signature, unique to each iDevice, which is signed by the firmware file before it is poured into the device. SHSH writes out a special Apple server (gs.apple.com) in response to the device identifier being sent to iTunes.

You can roll back firmware without saved SHSH certificates on the following i-devices:
• On iPhone 3G (with any firmware version you can roll back to 3.1.3)
• On iPhone 3GS (you can roll back to 4.1 from any firmware version)

SHSH certificates are required for the following i-devices:
• iPhone (3GS, 4, 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, SE, 7, 7 Plus), iPod touch (4G, 5G, 6G), iPad (2, 3, 4 , Air, Air 2), iPad Pro (9.7, 12.9), iPad mini (1, 2, 3, 4) ->for all firmware.
• Check availabilitySHSH certificatesYou can use one of the available methods described in ->Saving SHSH for all iDevays
• Without SHSH certificates rollback ->impossible!

iOS 8, iOS 9, iOS 10

Rollback for iPhone devices (4S *, 5 *, 5C, 5S, 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, SE, 7, 7 Plus), iPod touch (5G, 6G), iPad (2 *, 3, 4, Air, Air 2), iPad Pro (9.7, 12.9), iPad mini (1, 2, 3, 4) ->impossibleeven with SHSH certificates.

You should have saved SHSH from iOS version 5.x.x, to which you want to roll back from iOS 8, iOS 9, as well as SHSH from any of the iOS 4.x.x firmwares.

Run redsn0w ->Extras ->Even more ->Restore ->IPSWspecify the path to the iOS 5.x.x firmware to which you want to roll back. Then, redsn0w will notify you that you need any of the iOS 4.x.x firmware from which you saved SHSH. In the next step, your iPad 2 will automatically be entered into recovery mode. When redsn0w recognizes the iPad in Recovery mode, you need to specify the location of SHSH, if certificates are stored on your computer, select ->Localif the certificates are stored on the Cydia server, select ->Remote. Next iPad 2 must be entered inDFUmode, after which the rollback process starts on iOS 4.x.x, then on iOS 5.x.x.instruction

How to unlock?

Attached Image

Unlock (Unlock) - unlock-unlock iPhone from a foreign mobile operator, which allows the device to work with any SIM-cards.

There are three unlock methods:
Software (unofficial) unlock .
It is not permanent, that is, it flies after each flashing of the iPhone. It is expressed as a tweak (application) from Cydia. It's calledultrasn0w. It works on certain versions of the modem:The current state of the possibility of the procedure Unlock. You can find out the version of the modem in the following way ->Settings ->Major ->About this device ->Modem firmwareFor iPhone 3G, 3GS owners ->with modem version 06.15.00 desirable to lower Modem to version 05.13.04.
Instructions for upgrading the modem to 06.15.00 on iPhone 3G / 3GS
iPhone 3GS, released after 28 weeks of 2011, can be equipped with another version of the NOR memory chip. An attempt to upgrade the modem to version 06.15.00 on such devices leads to irreversible consequences and disables the iPhone 3GS modem without the possibility of repair!

Take the third, fourth and fifth digits of the serial number. If you get a number greater than 128, but less than 900, in no case can you upgrade the modem!
• The third digit in the serial number is the year of release of the iPhone ("9" is 2009, "0" is 2010, "1" is 2011). The danger of spoiling the radio module is only on the iPhone 3GS 2011 release.
• The fourth and fifth digits indicate the ordinal number of the release week of the iPhone 3GS (for example, "27" is the 27th week of the year). After the 28th week of 2011, they began to release iPhone 3GS with another NOR chip.

Use the serial number verification service -> SNDeepInfo

1. Turn off geolocation.
2. Run redsn0w -> Extras -> Select IPSW A window will open to select the original firmware file, select the firmware currently installed on your phone (not by custom). Next you will see a question about your bootrom version. Push Yes if new bootrom or No if old. Version of the bootrom can be found in the main window redsn0w below To do this, enter the device in DFU mode. new BR - new bootrom, old BR - old bootrom.
3. We do " correct "turning off the phone, by clamping the power / lock button and moving the slider" Turn off "(the developer draws attention to this method of turning off the device before the process begins), then enter the device in DFU mode.
4. We return to the main window of the program -> Back and go to the menu -> Jailbreak . Put a tick on the item -> Install iPad Baseband , remove the check mark from the item Cydia in case it is already installed on your phone and press the button -> Next to start the process of upgrading the modem version.

P.S. If you encounter this error when updating the modem:
LwVM: _partitionsFromConfig - laoded configurator for 2 partitions Mounting rootfs as read-only Error
Check if geolocation is off (settings ->geolocation ->off)
For those who are going to reflash the device, then create a custom firmware without upgrading the modem version.

If your modem version is not supportedultrasn0wthen you can unlock your iPhone in the following ways:
Official (camera) unlock .
This unlock is permanent. This type of unlock can be purchased (yes, it is paid) at online auctions (for example, onEbay). For this unlock, your iPhone should beactivated. Discover ->Under what operator is the iPhone blocked? <- can be in this thread. After receiving this type of unlock, you can not be afraid that your device will be locked. For iPhone 3G, 3GS owners ->your modem version should be below 06.15.00 otherwise, you will not be able to activate your device.

In this topic, I want to collect the basic instructions for rolling back the firmware and unlock devices.

      ()? download

Rollback - This is a flashing of this version of software that is not officially signed with SHSH certificates on behalf of Apple.
Let's start with a rollback. You can roll back the firmware without saved SHSH (you can flash on any firmware except the current one or the one that is not subscribed by Apple) at the moment on the following devices:
1. On iPhone 3G (with any firmware you can roll back to 3.1.3).
2. On iPhone 3GS (you can roll back to 4.1 from any firmware version).

New definition:
Shsh - This is an electronic certificate (signature) of the firmware, which is unique for each iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
If you want to roll back the firmware on other devices (iPhone 2G, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPod Touch 2G, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4, iPod Touch 5), then you will need saved SHSH from the necessary firmware.Without SHSH, rollback is impossible. Currently, firmware rollback is not possible on A5 processors (except for iPad 2), A5X, A6, A6X. This restriction applies to rollback with iOS 6. But on these devices, you can reinstall the current firmware version, having previously signed it with your SHSH certificates from the current version. Instructions for this flashing to the current can be found at the link:
How to repair iPhone 4S, iPad 3, iPad 2, iPod touch with iOS 5.x on iOS 5.x using Redsn0w.
Instructions for rolling back firmware from iOS 6 to others if you have an A4 processor
1) Download the software version of the desired iOS.
2) Run Redsn0w ver. 0.9.14b2 - "Extras".
3) Click "Custom IPSW" - select the official software.
3) Click "SHSH blobs" - "Stich".
4) "IPSW" (select the software created earlier) - "Cydia" (the device must be in DFU mode).
We are waiting for the completion of the process. Winners of Windows 7 64Bit may have an error "the blobs could not be verified", for this:
Copy the entire contents of the folder:
C: Program Files (x86) Common FilesAppleApple Application Support
to folder:
C: Users user_name AppDataRoamingredsn0w
5) After creating the signed software, we translate the device into PWNed DFU and flash it in iTunes.
Turns on the device - "Restore as new."

Instructions for rolling back firmware from iOS 6 to others with iPad 2 (A5 processor)
1) Download Redsn0w 0.9.15b3 for Windows or Mac.
2) Run Redsn0w 0.9.15b3 in administrator mode, if you are on Windows or click, hold down the Ctrl key and select “Open” from the new menu, if you are an OS X Mountain Lion user. Go to the Extras menu.
3) Open further Extras ->Even More in the main menu, then select the Restore function.
4) Click the IPSW button and select the firmware file you would like to restore.
5) Redsn0w will warn you if an additional firmware file is required. In this case, indicate to the program the required IPSW. At this stage, Redsn0w will offer to connect iDevice to the computer.
6) Now you need to specify the saved certificates SHSH blobs, which can be on your computer (if you have specially saved them) or remotely (when using Cydia, the program automatically saves digital certificates on its servers). After confirmation, Redsn0w will merge all the specified files together, will offer to transfer the iOS device to recovery mode and install it on the specified firmware.
Attention! This type of rollback is possible only with SHSH between 5. * and 4. *. Without them, nothing happens.

You can check the availability of your SHSH using the program.Tinymbrella. This process is described in detail in the topic header. Saving SHSH for all devices . I recommend using the fourth way to save SHSH.
Rollback firmware can be useful in the case of:
1. Random firmware for unnecessary software version.
2. Sometimes it is necessary to restore the work of the cellular network when flashing a locked device.

Actually the rollback process itself (practice)

For locked device:
1. Create custom firmware based on the required firmware version with activation and Cydia. Instructions for building custom firmware can be found in the topic. sn0wbreeze - create your custom in 12 steps . The official firmware needed to create a custom should be taken in the subject. Official firmware for iPhone / iPad .
2. After creating custom, you need to sign the firmware with your SHSH from the required firmware. (exception for those who lower the iPhone 3G to firmware 3.1.3 and for iPhone 3GS to 4.1).
Instructions for signing the firmware
1) Download the TinyUmbrella program and connect the device to the computer.
(if the phone works only in the DFU mode, then go "Control Panel - Device Manager - USB Controllers USB - Select Apple - Details - Path to the device instance"
Copy the line, paste it into any text editor and copy ECID, click "Manual ECID", fill in the fields.)
2) Select the detected device on the right and click "Save SHSH"
3) Run "redsn0w" - "extras"
4) Click "SHSH blobs" - "Stich"
5) "IPSW" (can be official or custom software without raising the modem depending on your device) - "Local" (select certificates for this software version)
We are waiting for the completion of the process.
P.S Owners of Windows 7 64Bit may have an error "the blobs could not be verified", for this:
Copy the entire contents of the folder:
C: Program Files (x86) Common FilesAppleApple Application Support
to folder:
C: Users user_name AppDataRoamingredsn0w

3. When your custom firmware is signed, you need to flash it. To do this, in the TinyUmbrella program, you need to tick the Start TSS Server item. Then, using iReb, you need to enter your device into PwnDFU mode.
4. After all you have done, you need to connect your device to your computer and start iTunes. Then you need to click on the name of your device. Then you need to hold down the Shift key and click on the "Restore" button. Next, we select our signed custom firmware and wait for the end of the firmware.
For an unencrypted device, the instruction is no different. But do not need to do custom firmware. Immediately sign the official firmware.

How to unlock?

Unlock - This is an uncoupling of the device (iPhone) from the "foreign" mobile operator so that the device works with our SIM cards and does not require the activation of the "foreign" operator.
Here is a very useful topic:The current state of the possibility of the procedure Unlock
There are three unlock methods:
1. Software (unofficial) unlock. It is not constant, that is, it flies after each flashing of the device. It is expressed as a tweak (application) from Cydia. It is called Ultrasn0w. It works on certain versions of the modem:
iPhone 3GS: 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04, 06.15.00.
iPhone 4: 01.59.00.
You can find out your version of the modem at the following address: Settings-Basic-About this device-Modem firmware.
Supplement for iPhone 3GS owners with a modem 06.15.00: this unlock will most likely not work on your device. To make it work you need to lower your version of the modem to 05.13.04.
Modem upgrade instructions
1) Turn off geolocation
2) Run "redsn0w" and click "Extras"
3) Click "Select IPSW" - select the downloaded earlier software (only off!)
4) Click "Jailbreak" in the list, select "iPad Baseband"
5) Enter the device into the DFU and wait for the device to turn on.
P.S: If you encounter this error when updating the modem:
LwVM: _partitionsFromConfig - laoded configurator for 2 partitions Mounting rootfs as read-only Error
then check if geolocation is off ("settings - geolocation - off")
For those who are just going to reflash the device, then create software without raising the modem.

Modem down instructions
1. Run resn0w 0.9.14b2, go to the EXTRAS menu =>Select IPSW, a window will open to select the original firmware file, select the firmware currently installed on your phone (not by custom).
2. Make the "right" turn off the phone, hold down the power / lock buttons and move the "Off" slider. (the developer pays attention to this method of turning off the device before lowering the modem)
3. Go back to the first screen and go to the "Jailbreak" menu. Put a tick on the item "Downgrade from iPad baseband", remove the tick from the item Cydia, if it is already installed in your phone, and click the button "NEXT" to start the procedure.

If your modem version is not supported by Ultrasn0w, then you can unlock your device in the following ways.
2. Official (camera) unlock. This unlock is permanent. This type of unlock can be purchased (yes, it is paid) at online auctions (for example, on Ebay). For this unlock your device must be activated.
If you do not have a SIM card operator, under which your device is locked, you can bypass the activation screen using the method described in the topic headerIphone 4s activation (3GS and 4 as well). Then you need to jailbreak (this will entail activation (or so-called hacking) of the device) in any of the ways that are available for your software version.
After receiving this type of unlock, you can not fear that your device will be locked.
Remark for iPhone 3GS owners: your modem version should be lower than 06.15.00. It is possible with her, but in the future you will get problems (you will not be able to activate the device).
3. Gevey. In my opinion, this method is outdated and has become inconvenient. Gevey is a microcircuit that makes your device think that the SIM card you inserted is the SIM card of the operator under which your device is locked. This method works only with a specific version of the modem. Gevey works only with modems whose versions are not higher than 04.10.01.

The main errors that occur during the rollback process

1. Unknown error 3194.
Decision:
-Sign firmware with your SHSH.
-Tick the Start TSS Server checkbox in TinyUmbrella.
2. Unknown error 16 **.
Decision:
-Collect custom firmware yourself, and not download it ready on the Internet.
-Input your device into PwnDFU via iReb.
- Remove the password from your device, which occurs when the display is unlocked (if installed).
