TOPIC RULES

Reasons for creating subject rules
The creation of recommendations on writing messages in this topic refers to which follows exactly as rules, since they are intended to create and maintain order in the subject for the convenience of absolutely all users, the measure is forced and is associated with a lot of repeated questions and answers that are not related to the subject. energy consumption or the extension of autonomy, but in no way designed to prohibit communication and discussion of problems on the topic. These rules are not created from harm, but for the convenience of users in finding the information they need. If you believe that your message has been deleted unreasonably, you can appeal thisaccording to established order.

1.General recommendations
1.1.In this topic are fully operationalForum Rulessavagemessiahzine.com
I recommend to familiarize yourself with the topics10 commandments novice, Message design, MEMORIAL GUIDE FOR BEGINNERS, Rules section "Android - first aid".
1.2. Will be deleted without warningmessagesLet's write letters to Samsung - let them finish the firmware! or I buy a smartphone to use, and not to tune something there. or How much can you already, selling nafig and buy a nexus, let them know. or Why is everything good on the iPhone, but is everything bad on the Samsung?
Information to understand
There are no rallies and / or demonstrations in this topic, as well as competitions for the best slogan. If you think that the official appeal to Samsung technical support will help to improve the energy saving (autonomy) of the Samsung Galaxy S III, then you should not agitate to this in this topic - it is better to write such an appeal yourself, and put the official answer here.
This topic is not an official support of Samsung, the statistics of feedback on the operation of the Samsung Galaxy S III is not collected here, for an ordinary forum user.savagemessiahzine.comThis information is not interesting and certainly not useful, especially since it in no way affects the topic of energy consumption (autonomy). Also, this topic does not discuss the selection and operation of smartphones in general, in particular the Samsung Galaxy S III, but only the problems of energy saving (autonomy) and how to solve them.
1.3. Will be deleted without warning subjective comments Why buy smart, just to call, there is Nokia 3310 - refrain from commenting how other users use Samsung Galaxy S III. .
Information to understand
Everyone uses the Samsung Galaxy S III on their own. If he believes that in order to prolong the life of a smartphone on a single charge, it is necessary to stop using the function, for example, synchronizing contacts with Google servers, then this is his choice. In this topic, you shouldn’t impose your point of view on what to do with the smartphone and what it is intended for.
1.4. Will be deleted without warning messages What are you suffering, put the root! or I have everything perfectly without root!
Information to understand
Such messages do not carry any useful information. You should not force or persuade someone to use any applications for energy saving, get root access or change the modem / firmware / core. It is better to do this in the form of a council with the obligatory indication of the facts, as this or that action contributes to energy saving.
1.5.Slang can not be understood by everyone, it is also unsuitable for searching by topic, so compose your message in such a way that the information is clear to everyone without exception - use common concepts and names - wi-fi instead of waffle / wifi, 2G / 3G instead of 2 gi / 3g, firmware instead of farmvare or prosh, kernel / kernel instead of egg / core, Titanium Backup instead of titanium or TB, Disable Service instead of disable or disable. If you are in doubt about the spelling, it is best to use the copy-paste function. In this case, copy-paste is not a vice.
1.6.If you yourself have found a solution to the problem, then you should not writeEverything is no longer necessary - he figured it out himself - better describe the solution found so that other users can use it.
1.7. Will be deleted without warning all outrage and indignation about the content of the answer to your question. I don't want that. or I do not like it. or This is too hard! - this topic is not welcome.
Information to understand
You asked a question - the community responded to you with accumulated collective intelligence. For some reason, I did not accept the help of the community, try an alternative - contact the official support of the samsung. The device is under warranty - what do you hesitate for? - to the service center, you paid the money! And the community is not obligated to you (as in any other way to any of us). We help each other voluntarily and free of charge.
In any case, the decision is yours.

2. Image placement
2.1.All images attached to the message must be hidden under the spoiler. How to clean the image under the spoiler
Information to understand
If you have unlimited traffic, this does not mean that it is with the others too. Also, if several images are attached to the message and they are not hidden under the spoiler, then the displayed page turns into a “bagwife”, which causes discomfort when reading it. The size of all the attached images in this topic is more than 100 MB and this is without taking into account the text, graphics of the forum, avatars and other attached files.
2.2.If you still could not hide the images under the spoiler on your own, then you should not write about this in the message and moreover create a new message - press the buttonPictureUnder your post and ask to hide the image under the spoiler moderators.
2.3.If you see a post where the images are not removed under the spoiler, then you shouldn’t write about it in the subject line and clutter it up - press the buttonPictureand ask to hide the images under the spoiler moderators.

3. Recommendations for questioners
3.1.Before asking a question, check out
  • Glossary
  • Terms and jargon
  • Lithium Batteries - Operating Rules
  • Tips to improve power saving devices on Android OS
  • information provided in the topic header, with the topic itself. Use the topic search. In most cases, your question has already been asked and an answer has been found. Despite the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S III differs in its characteristics from the Samsung Galaxy S IV, there are very few fundamental differences in their work, therefore I recommend to familiarize yourself with the topic header and use the topic searchPower consumption (autonomy) Galaxy S IV
    Information to understand
This topicwas cleaned, left only useful messages. Type excusesmnogabukaf / once read / the whole topic niasililnot accepted. Try to avoid such formulations.
Practice has shown that when finding a solution for a problem on your own, a positive result is achieved faster, since you do not just learn the order of actions, but also understand the whole process, and your subsequent actions become more meaningful. Often, having solved one problem, you know how to approach the next.
3.2. Will be deleted without warning messages I spent X% in X hours, is this normal? or I ate 15% overnight, what should I do? or My screen / android / network connection / standby mode is eating X% all the time, is it all? . Everyone has different conditions of use, there are no answers to such questions. How much% and for how long is it okay for you to decide. The fact that for one user is the norm, for the second - evidence of increased energy consumption, and the third is not paying attention to it at all.
3.3. Will be deleted without warning messages containing a discussion of how to install applications and firmware, getting root access, searching for instructions or download links, as well as other issues not affecting power consumption (autonomy) - there are specialized topics for discussing or solving such issues (links to the main ones are provided in cap, for the rest there is a search in the forum). In this topic, it is allowed to discuss android versions (only existing at the time of discussion), firmware versions (both stock and custom), kernel version (both stock and custom), modem versions in terms of power consumption, but with obligatory adduction of facts indicating on the difference in power consumption depending on the installed version of the android / firmware / kernel / modem.

4. Recommendations for champions
4.1.If you came to the topic to share your achievements, then keep in mind - without specifying the version of the firmware, kernel, modem, system settings and without a detailed log of battery statistics indicating the time of work on key points (screen, calls, use of mobile data) your achievements to anyone In this topic are not interesting, do not contain useful information andwill be deleted without warning .
Information to understand
A complete list of your customization steps is needed so that anyone can repeat your achievement in autonomy. Therefore, composing the text of a similar message, answer the question - what should be done to repeat these results? It is necessary to write down by points all the actions, up to the versions of the applications used.
4.2. To specify the software version do not need to write firmware off , latest firmware from dusk or yesterday night cyan also do not write firmware, see signature / profile - just make a screenshot of the window Menu → Settings → About device where versions of android, modem, kernel and firmware are immediately indicated.
4.3. Do not forget to specify if you deleted / disabled any applications and this is what contributed to the improvement of energy saving. Do not be lazy - deleted all the trash says nothing. If a list is large enough, it is easier to specify the applications that you left. You can take screenshots disabled / frozen applications or screenshots of the menu with left applications.
4.4. Do not forget to specify if you customized the operation of the kernel (what and how). Also, do not forget to give the facts, how your settings have affected energy saving.
4.5. If the decisive factor for you is the time of the screen, then be sure to specify the brightness settings. If your achievement by the time the screen was achieved in the process of reading (reader, browser, etc.), then be sure to specify the background color.
4.6. If the decisive factor for you is voice time, then be sure to specify the network settings (2G / 3G / auto + screenshot of advanced battery statistics, where you can see the signal quality).
4.7. If the deciding factor for you is the time spent on the Internet, then be sure to specify the network source (wi-fi / mobile data), network and modem settings (2G / 3G / auto, UMTS / HSDPA / HSUPA) used by the client.
4.8. If you use a battery other than the original (with which the Samsung Galaxy S III is sold), then be sure to indicate the characteristics of your battery in the message text.

FAQ

Mostfastway to find out"and I have normal power consumption?"
  • If per night (~ 8 hours) consumption10% is bad
  • If per night (~ 8 hours) consumption<10% is normal
  • If per night (~ 8 hours) consumption5% is good
  • If per night (~ 8 hours) consumption2% is great
* night / 8 hours - this is when smart nobody touches even the time to look.
Mosteffective way to find out "and I have normal power consumption?"
Collect night stats using BetterBatteryStats by this instructions . This application is the most advanced and convenient in terms of logs. The use of other similar programs to collect statistics complicates the further search for the culprit and methods of combating his activities. You have the right to choose an application for data collection, but to assist you in this topic you need logs from BetterBatteryStats .

1.) Bands / ripples / blinking / artifacts on the screen, signal loss, sharp discharge at 0% and shutdown
The first symptoms appear most often on a charge of about 20% with active use (games, the Internet). The phone just turns off and you can only turn it on by charging it. There are 3 reasons:
  1. Samsung’s official response - software failure. It is necessary to save all the important data from the internal memory of the smart and perform a reset via the Menu-Settings-Archiving and reset ( Question answer from 03/02/2015 ). There are no unsubscribing users to whom it would help.
  2. Bad battery contact. It is necessary to turn off the smart, remove the battery, wipe the contacts both on the battery itself and in the smart. On 4pda, this helped only one unsubscribing user. .
  3. Battery dies it won't even be bloated. The confirmation is fast charging (from 0 to 100 in about an hour) and the loss of the first percent immediately after disconnecting from charging. Get ready to replace it. 99% of unsubscribing users were helped only by replacing the battery.

2.) Standard battery statistics
  1. Statistics is reset during charging when it reaches 90-95% (depending on the firmware). You can reset it yourself by deleting the data / system / filebatterystats.bin(need root access).
  2. Only stats are displayed in statistics.ScreenandAndroid OS- it is necessary to disable the power saving mode and reset the statistics (see clause 1).
  3. The statistics shows 2 standby modes:
    - standby mode with “hangers” (cell standby) - this is the time that the body was “on the network”, the larger the value, the worse the signal quality (coincides with the total time, if the “in plane” mode is not enabled)
    - standby mode with the on / off button (device idle) - this is the time of deep sleep (very nice if it is equal to the difference between the total working time and screen time)
  4. Mobile network signal:
    - green - good
    - yellow - medium,
    - gray - bad
    - empty - selected mode "in the plane."

3.) Standard power saving mode
There were reviews in this topic (removed in the cleaning process, because everything was too subjective) that:
  1. 1/3 - with energy saving better (on how much it was not announced)
  2. 1/3 - off better (by how much it was not announced)
  3. 1/3 - nothing changes (without facts)
The rest of the reviews are excellent search by topic;)

4.) Green diode / full charge notification
On the stock firmware, the green diode lights up along with the notification of the full charge of the battery, which occurs approximately 20 minutes after reaching 100% on the original battery at 2100mAh and about 35 minutes later on the original battery at 3000mAh.

5.) Measurement of real battery capacity

6.) Underclocking and Undervolting
Underclocking (UC) This is a way to save energy by lowering the maximum processor frequency. He is not able to cause any defects other than a decrease in performance.
Undervolting (UV) is a way to save energy by lowering the voltage applied to the components of a smartphone (CPU, GPU, etc.). Excessive voltage drop can affect the stability of the system, but can not disable the phone or cause a hardware defect. In the worst case, the phone will hang. After rebooting and returning values to their original position, everything will be as before.
And from and another is possible only on custom cores that support the function of controlling the frequency and voltage of the processor. The most popular and convenient core in this regard isSiyah . On the example of him I will describe the process
Siyah is currently one of the most stable and feature-rich cores for the Samsung Galaxy S3. The author constantly updates versions, correcting errors and adding new features. The kernel can be configured using the special STweaks application (installed automatically with the kernel, you can also download its ExTweaks analogue in the Play Market, but there is absolutely no difference between them) that allows you to change many settings and parameters.
Frequency controlprocessor occurs on the first tab of STweaks called CPU in the field CPU SCALING SETTINGS. The MAX CPU LOCK parameter is responsible for the number of active processor cores. As practice has shown, this method of improving energy efficiency has almost no effect, so we will not consider it. Below there are sliders named SCALING_MAX_FREQ and SCALING_MIN_FREQ, which control the maximum and minimum thresholds of the processor clock frequency. By default, SCALING_MAX_FREQ = 1400, SCALING_MIN_FREQ = 200. Personally, I consider the frequency of 1400 MHz to be redundant and lowered it to 1,200 MHz. For almost all daily operations, this is enough for the eyes. In any case, I do not experience any lags, brakes, etc. I can’t definitely judge the games, because I rarely play, but I specifically downloaded Asphalt 7 (it’s supposed to be one of the hardest 3D games for a modern smartphone), in half an hour of the game, not a single lag was found. Perhaps for someone it will make sense to lower the upper frequency bar even to 1000 MHz. But this is everyone's business. The effect of lowering the maximum processor clock frequency is that at lower frequencies the processor consumes a current with a lower voltage, and therefore consumes the battery more slowly. Of course, the effect of this will be noticeable only when using the phone in active mode. Also, due to lowering the frequency, the device will heat up less with prolonged heavy loads (for example, during games).
The core of Siyah allows you to control the processor voltage at each frequency that is a multiple of 100 MHz. That is, you can separately set the voltage for the frequency of 200 MHz, separately for 300 MHz, separately for 400 MHz, etc. However, in STweaks itself, the author for some reason did not realize this possibility by making only the CPU UNDERVOLTING parameter (on the same CPU tab), which allows lowering the voltage simultaneously for all frequency steps to a certain value (25 mV, 50 mV, 75 mV, 100 mV). This is not very convenient, since it is not always possible to reduce the voltage of each step by the same value. However, for someone this method may seem more simple. From myself, I note that lowering the frequencies by 75 and 100 mV is quite extreme and is most likely to cause hangs on most smartphones, so you should start with 25 or 50 mV. It is best to start with a minimum. Unfortunately, it is impossible to check the stability of work at one moment, since various tests and benchmarks usually load the processor in full, forcing it to constantly run only at the highest possible frequency during the test. Accordingly, stability is checked only at the maximum frequency. However, the phone can operate the processor at other lower frequencies. You can of course lower the maximum processor frequency by 100 MHz and run the test again each time, but at low frequencies this can be problematic. Therefore, I prefer to test practice. For example, set the CPU UNDERVOLTING parameter to -25 mV and see how the phone will behave for several days. If everything is stable (no freezes and reboots), then you can proceed to the next step -50 mV and continue to monitor the stability of the work. And so on until we determine the minimum and stable voltage values. In my case, this method was not very successful and I decided to take a more complicated path. In addition to STweaks, the processor voltage can be controlled by other utilities, in particularNSTools(on the recommendation of the developer Siyah). NSTools allows you to set the voltage for each frequency value that is a multiple of 100 MHz, which allows you to squeeze out the maximum efficiency from UV. By default, the Galaxy S3 processor has the following voltages:
1400 MHz: 1275 mV
1300 MHz: 1238 mV
1200 MHz: 1175 mV
1100 MHz: 1125 mV
1000 MHz: 1088 mV
900 MHz: 1050 mV
800 MHz: 1000 mV
700 MHz: 975 mV
600 MHz: 963 mV
500 MHz: 938 mV
400 MHz: 925 mV
300 MHz: 900 mV
200 MHz: 900 mV
If you set the maximum clock frequency below normal, then the voltage for frequencies exceeding the maximum one can be left undisturbed, the processor will never switch to these frequencies anyway. The method of determining the optimal voltage is the same as in the case of STweaks with the only difference that it will be necessary to check each step at each frequency separately, which may take even longer. However, it makes no sense to fight for the minimum values at each step of the frequency, because the phone does not work at each frequency for the same amount of time. You can find out with the help of the utility BetterBatteryStats, about which I already wrote above. It tracks the duration of the processor at each frequency step and allows you to display this clearly in the CPU States item. The longest time the phone works at the minimum frequency (which is natural during downtime) and maximum, the other options can be individual for each. In my case, these are 1200, 1000, 800, 400 and 200 MHz.
Below are my voltages, the deviation from the standard voltage is indicated in parentheses (perhaps, more precisely, I hope that these figures are not yet final and I will be able to squeeze something else out of my processor):
1200 MHz: 1100 mV (-75 mV)
1100 MHz: 1050 mV (-75 mV)
1000 MHz: 1000 mV (-88 mV)
900 MHz: 950 mV (-100 mV)
800 MHz: 900 mV (-100 mV)
700 MHz: 900 mV (-75 mV)
600 MHz: 900 mV (-63 mV)
500 MHz: 900 mV (-38 mV)
400 MHz: 900 mV (-25 mV)
300 MHz: 875 mV (-25 mV)
200 MHz: 850 mV (-50 mV)
As you can see, I did not give the voltage values for the frequencies 1300 and 1400 MHz, since the maximum processor frequency is limited to 1200 MHz and these modes are simply not used. Together, thanks to UC and UV, I reduced the current consumption at maximum load by 175 mV, which is almost 14%.
I would be very grateful to the forum participants who will share their achievements in the field of UV.

Graphics processor (GPU) is also subject to the possibility of UC and UV, however, due to its specificity, this process occurs slightly differently. It is better to perform all actions with frequencies and voltage of the GPU from under STweaks, since it provides for this exhaustive functionality. The GPU, in contrast to the CPU, has only 4 modes (or steps) of work, which are activated as the load on the GPU increases, but this happens nonlinearly and this process can be very flexibly controlled using STweaks. On the GPU tab, you can find the GPUFREQ field, in which we can select frequencies for each of the 5 modes (the 5th step with a frequency of 533 MHz is added by the Siyah core) of the GPU. Here you can also play around with the values and limit the maximum frequency, but from my practice I can say that the GPU frequency control is designed in such a way that in almost all modes except less heavy 3D games, the frequency of the GPU does not rise above the second step (Step 2 ). Just below, in the GPU VOLTAGE LEVELS field, you can change the voltage for each step. Finding the minimum voltage values is no different from a similar process with a CPU.
Below are the standard values of frequencies and voltages for the GPU:
160 MHz: 875 mV
266 MHz: 900 mV
350 MHz: 950 mV
440 MHz: 1025 mV
And here are my settings:
160 MHz: 800 mV (-75 mV)
266 MHz: 825 mV (-75 mV)
333 MHz: 900 mV
400 MHz: 925 mV
440 MHz: 950 mV (-75 mV)

I'd like to say a few words about the kernel calledPhenomenal. Perhaps today it is the most energy-efficient core, because it offers ready-made solutions to reduce the voltage of many components of a smartphone, but because of too aggressive UV settings it may not work consistently for everyone. In particular, I have. The kernel is offered in three versions without the possibility of changing any settings or parameters: Normal (minimum UV), Medium (medium UV) and Extreme (maximum UV). I couldn’t make even the Normal version work stably. However, this does not mean that the kernel is bad or will work unstable for everyone. In any case, it is always worth a try (you will always have the opportunity to return to Siyah :)). In fairness it can be noted that this kernel is used by uv.indigo88 - The record for the duration of the smartphone on battery. ;))

7.) Heating the bottom of the smart
With the release of the official firmware 4.3 users noticed increased heat. This question has been raised repeatedly.in the topic of discussion.

8.) Strange percentage display
  1. Many users have noticed that the first and last percentages of battery chargespent much faster.
  2. Using smart at different temperatures can cause spontaneousincrease / decreasecharge. Most often this happens for two reasons:
    • active use of smart, which causes strong heat including the battery;
    • use of smart in the winter on the street, which leads to the "freezing" of the battery.
  3. After removal from charging, there is an instant charge drop from 100% to 98-97%, then it is consumed normally. Most often, this notice users who bought a new battery. I am inclined to believe that this is caused by a marriage / fake / improper storage in the warehouse. Unfortunately, no one unsubscribes whether such a drawdown occurs over time or not. There was no other opinion on the topic.

9.) Battery self discharge
Measurements are made on a complete battery. After about a year of intensive use, the complete battery was replaced with a reinforced one; the complete one from July 2013 lies in the drawer of the table.
10.10.2014 - 12.11.2014>80% - 79% (1% / 1.5 months)
November 28, 2014 - 07.02.2016>80% - 77% (1% / 5 months)

Measurements made on the original 3000mAh reinforced battery (intensive use since July 2013)
02.02.2016 - 09.03.2016>100% - 100% (0% / 1 month)

10.) useful links

11.) Useful tips
  1. Do not put automatic taskkillers - they themselves kill the charge + after they complete the process, it immediately starts up the system again and does not let the smart fall asleep / eats the battery, not to mention the glitches in the system that you get.
  2. When changing firmware, do not restore system application data with Titanium Buckup, better configure everything again.
  3. You do not need to change the firmware often if you are not satisfied with the power consumption. Break in the firmware for a couple of days, and only then check the power consumption. In practice, 12 hours after installation is sufficient (taking into account the small number of files).
  4. More fully the battery is charged on the phone off (according to the statements of many users).
  5. Any programs to improve energy conservation, which turn on or off the screen, network, brightness, are useless. Explicit changes are made by those programs that require Root rights.

Maybe it's the signal level? During the night I eat at EDGE no more than 2%, the signal level is full.
Still, as an option, widgets and free applications that are there for everyone, which little by little load ads during the "sleep". I almost do not have them, from the most voracious WhatsApp.

Maybe it's the signal level? During the night I eat at EDGE no more than 2%, the signal level is full.

Try to listen to the player or watch the video before bedtime. Tomorrow post. In 12 hours of “sleep”, 1% goes away if I just play or call before bedtime. And so helps reboot, and if you do not reboot during the same time, it takes 15% -20%. Oh how.

What are some other battery saving tips? only within reasonable limits)))) and advise a good task manager please !!!

Disable synchronization, data archiving, background data transfer — all this in the settings. Set the Juice Defender program - it itself enables and disables access to the network via wi-fi or 3G / edge when you turn on and exit programs that need access to the network. Put DroidWall and configure / deny access to the network to all unnecessary programs. Programs that do not use deactivate / freeze using the application manager. And get 0% of the flow in 8-12 hours of sleep is real. It works for me ...

If you switch to only gsm mode, it eats up 1-2 percent per night. If the machine or wcdma is about 13 percent. Make a conclusion yourself. The power saving mode cuts the processor into 2 cores, respectively; it is useful only in heavy applications, but not in sleep mode.

I publish a small opus on my experiments with the aim of finding out "where does the battery go."
If the curator considers it necessary and useful - you can put it in the header. If not - you can cram a spoiler.
The patient is SGS3 16Gb, German, no root, firmware stock 4.0.4. I did not indulge in my hands, I put all the updates only from the section "About the device".
Immediately after the purchase, 5 full charge-discharge cycles were made (please avoid commenting here on the “stupidity of this method on modern devices”), you can talk about this in other topics. I myself do not really know if it is necessary or not necessary, I proceeded from the fact that there will definitely not be any worse.
The shell, widgets - all staffing (additionally Evernote and PowerAMP widgets).
Third-party programs - Evernote, MX Player, PowerAMP, Facebook, Skype, IM +, Twitter, Angry Birds, Cool Reader.
Initial conditions:
- power saving mode is enabled (except for the screen brightness item in the mail and browser).
- GSM / WCDMA network selection mode - automatically.
- sync is configured only with contacts and Google calendar. Everything else (Facebook, Skype, etc. is disabled.). Update weather on the machine.
- The alarm clock is set for weekdays.
All tests conducted at night. Happy meaningless, because The load on the phone is different from day to day. Went to bed, woke up - wrote down% battery.
Testing time is approximately from 22:30 to 6:30.
So, we pass, actually, to tests. The number of tests - the number of nights.
1. The above conditions. Battery zhor - from 22% to 15% (total 7%, i.e. approximately 1% per hour).
2. I decided to test whether the zhor depends on the level of battery charge. Charged up to 88%. The result per night - from 88% to 81%. We conclude that it does not depend on the charge level.
3. Disconnected internet. Zhor from 75% to 71% (4%).
4. Disconnected the telephone module (Flight mode). From 67% to 66% (1%).
5. Turned on the Internet, turned on mail synchronization (two mailboxes - one in the regular Gmail application, the second in the Lotus Traveler application). Zhor ranged from 61% to 49% (12%). That is, mail synchronization in comparison with normal synchronization gives + 5%.
6. Turned off mail synchronization, but left the Internet and telephone module turned on. In other words, returned to the initial state. Turned off power saving mode. Zhor ranged from 97% to 88%, i.e. 9%. I concluded that the power saving mode allows you to save 2% in standby mode. Perhaps in the mode of active use of the phone, this percentage will be significantly higher.
7. Turned back on power saving mode, i.e. Returned the phone to its original state and set the "GSM only" mode. Zhor ranged from 75% to 70% (5%). Thus, the GSM mode provides 2% savings. But, as in the case of the energy saving test, the method is not entirely correct. When the phone is in one place, it does not move, as a rule, the signal does not jump. There is either WCDMA or not.
8. The last test in the "WCDMA Only" mode. The charge dropped from 45% to 38%. That is, at 7%, which corresponds to the "Auto" mode.

Additionally, during the day, I slightly exploited the phone in power off mode. I didn’t notice serious savings, but the phone responds really faster.

Conclusions that I made for myself. Want - take on arms, want - no.
1. Power saving mode is off.
2. Selecting a GSM / WCDMA network - automatically.
3. Mail sync - manual mode.
4. Internet is constantly on (synchronization of contacts, calendar, weather update).

In this situation, I think, the phone will live quietly from morning till evening at any load, and given the presence of a cradle on the desktop and a charger in the car, additional charging will not be a problem.

By the way, right there. I was surprised to notice that in GPS enabled mode, loaded with Yandex Navigator and maximum display brightness, the battery is consumed, even if the phone is connected to a 12-volt outlet in the car. Perhaps this is due to a non-original cable (using a cable from a BT-headset Jabra Cruiser 2). The solution is in the form of the presence in the car 110-volt outlet. True, with an American plug.

Why is the mobile Internet eating a battery so much if there is nothing special to climb?
For 8 hours at night, 13% is eaten, only mobile data worked and that's all.

Akusho,
If only mobile data, should eat two times less. Look for some other program at night climbs into the network.

Akusho,
You can try to put the System Panel, as many did and see what it consumes the most. Juice Defender should be suitable for fine tuning. But I did not use either one or the other.
You yourself write everything correctly. Disconnected internet and VibER - 2% consumption, within normal limits. Viber I was on the iPhone, the battery was only on the go. See accounts and sync - there, in principle, it will be clear that the network climbs constantly. Maybe a twitter or facebook ...

Mobile data is constantly disabled - I turn it on only directly when I go to the Internet (+ in this mode, the games cannot get into the Internet without permission - the traffic does not go;)) Ie disconnecting mobile data you deprive the device of the opportunity to go online. Network mode is automatic. Auto Light. Waffle, blue tooth and GPS are naturally turned off. I try not to keep the apps in the background.

ps
The device also spent the night without recharging. + 10 more hours of waiting)))

help please solve the problem. The tele-phon with the screen turned on sits down very quickly.
for more than 3 hours of burning the screen, it is almost impossible to squeeze out of it. If you use it mainly as a player and a dialer, then it will be enough for 2-3 days. When the screen turns on - a wild zhor begins.
phone 3 months. what is shown on the screenshots is browsing and VKontakte + ~ 30 min of music.

But the data in the background - no ..

Updates to the antivirus databases can also go on the Internet while the bodies are asleep ... Many conditions have to be met a lot to save ... And if something often changes in the system or the programs are updated, every time you have to look at both what was reconfigured-updated-devoured charge

Juice Defender in Extreme.DroidWall mode. All unauthorized access to the network is disabled — access is strictly on my team. Unused programs are turned off in the application manager. I don’t use power saving mode. It’s worth auto-brightness mode + batteries + advanced menu + CRT effect of the old TV and everything .. ..

Hello everyone! Help please, I have been using phones for about 1.5 months and regardless of the firmware version (both in the official and in custom, now I am sitting on Poppuri_Aroma Simple Theme Edition XXDLIB) I noticed - I charge the phone to 100%, then very quickly it starts to discharge to 92-85 percent, literally half an hour later, at what he can lie with the screen off and not to be used ... then when the battery is discharged to 95% -85%, everything becomes good and the battery is very good to hold. Under the spoiler, a screenshot - in 26 minutes just lying on a table with the screen turned off, the phone was discharged to 91%. How can this be?

xxxrocker,
Pay attention to the blue bars opposite the item "Working Mode". If the phone was lying and did nothing, then they should not be there. The screen is off ... Something wakes the body ...

what color except black behaves most economically on the sgs 3 screen

Dark greyanddark greendue to the technology used by the screen. For Super Amole from all RGB colorsgreenconsumes the least energy.
That is why the green sub-pixels are the most. This can be understood without tests, simply by reading about SuperAmolded technology.
