Interesting topic. There was and there is a Nexus 5, but I use Xiaomi A2. I love photos, but cameras are lazy to carry around with you, especially when walking with a dog: my hands are busy.
So: there were problems with the nexus until the owners licked the software to the ideal. All photos were super! With A2 it is more difficult: the Google-cam needs to be put through "F", but I did not do it. I waited.
After the March update, A2 surprised me with beautiful photos, but there is a special feature: autofocus is bad, but the double-tap focus from the photo (in the settings) works with a bang! It's even more convenient for me, you can select an object for focusing.
